Griem said the second test was given to counter reports that Bashara failed a polygraph performed for the Grosse Pointe Park Police.

“If the prosecution wants to have a battle of polygraph examiners, we will,” said Griem, adding that he does not believe the person who performed the test for police is licensed by the state of Michigan.

His examiner is licensed, Griem said, and has performed “hundreds of police and private examinations.”

Grosse Pointe Park Police Capt. David Loch would not comment on the second polygraph or any other aspects of the investigation today.

The conflicting results underscore why such tests are almost never used in court, Griem said.

oh and lawyer bashes the lady who gave the interview last night too:

Meanwhile, Griem said media coverage of the case is now “the theater of the absurd,” with the Wednesday night broadcast of an unidentified woman who claimed she took part in sado-masochistic encounters in the basement of one of Barashara’s commercial rental properties.

“We don’t know who this person and if she’s just looking for a minute of fame,” Griem said.

I find that super, duper creepy. Why would he even mention those murders? Makes me wonder if he is involved in those as well or knows something about it. This is one bizarre dude.

IMHO - that was another attempt (a bad one) to deflect guilt away from himself and try to pin it on the still unknown murderer in those cases. Sadly - since those woman were tied to prostitution/escort services through their online ads - was he trying to suggest that his wife was somehow connected to those same activities? Again - completely distasteful - given what he's been up to - to link the other murders with his wife's.

I bet good ole Bob knows exactly who she is. Unless there are too many to count and single one out.

here it is:

He also asked for anyone with information to come forward.
“Please come forward. The police need your help. In addition to those four women that had been put in the trunks, terrible things. Anyone that knows anything, please come forward.”

IMO .. this is TYPICAL "I'm so smart" behavior.

He drops the "oh, some guy is going to accuse me and it's not true" thing after this "oh, gee, if you know anything about my missing wife or the other four women .. please come forward"

Dude thinks he's so smart .. That's no coincidence IMO .. he's leading LE to his 'possible suspect' and alluding to it being related to the other four ..

Ugh!

But, hey .. let's let him keep talking .. maybe it'll help LE convict.

IMO IMO IMO

Wow...sex dungeon....escorts in trunks....his wife in a car.....this is wonderful....I got home at five past 8pm, my wife wasn't home...I relaxed. There seems to be a story beneath the story. He seems to be telling us everything.

The second lie detector test was not performed by Grosse Pointe Park Police.

Police performed a lie detector test on Bashara last Friday. According to investigators, there are inconsistencies involving the timeline that he gave in his interviews with police. The inconsistencies stem from the time he told police Jane Bashara made her way to the house and the time he said he arrived at the house.

Exactly. Times a million.

Really hope LE is looking to see if escorts frequented the "Lucky" bar. And if any of them ended up in a trunk.

This story really creeps me out. Poor Jane :(

I live in the Detroit area as well. What blows my mind when I read comments on local tv and newspaper sites is how much support this guy has and what a shock it's from men.

"The Hard Luck Lounge family is very sorry for the loss of Jane Bashara. Our hearts go out to her and her loved ones.
Included in the news stories about this tragic event were reports that there was a dungeon in the basement of our bar.
We felt it was important to let the community know that we were just tenants at Mr. Bashara’s building. Although Mr. Bashara has a space in the basement of the building we are unaware of what is kept in that space. He had no access to our basement space and we had no access to his as these were separate locked areas. Our basement holds nothing more than supplies and stock that would be found in any bar business. Again, our deepest sympathies go out to the Bashara family and we wish them well during their time of mourning."

Yup, sounds like they either got caught up in this, or they are doing some major distancing ....

Oh the tangled web we weave ... it affects so many.

Attorney: Bob Bashara passed privately administered polygraph test

Speaking this morning on WJR-AM 760, Griem said he did not know who administered that original test or what questions where asked.

But he does know this much: "I can tell you he has since taken another polygraph test and passed it," he told host Paul W. Smith.

Griem, who previously represented convicted wife-killer Stephen Grant, had Bashara take a privately administered polygraph test last night. He told the Free Press that questions included,"Did you have anything to do with the death of your wife?"

I am not an owner I received the quote from an owner.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome.

I am very curious as to why the bar moved out of the building and where they went?

New details are emerging about Bob Bashara and the reported affair he was having with Rachel, a 50-year-old woman who once lived in an apartment Bashara owned in Grosse Pointe Park.
Phyllis Huxley currently rents an upstairs flat in the City of Grosse Pointe to Rachel.
Huxley tells 7 Action News that soon after Rachel spoke with police investigating the murder of Bob Bashara's wife, she was told by another tenant that Rachel moved out to avoid media scrutiny of the case that has made national headlines.
Huxley says she has spoken with Bob Bashara on several occasions where Rachel lives and has even spotted him walking her dog.
