Judge in Bob Bashara case wants to explore 'resolution' to case

The judge presiding over Bob Bashara’s murder trial told him — and the attorneys in the case — to return to her courtroom later this month “to see whether or not there may be a potential resolution.”

It’s unclear what possible resolution Wayne County Circuit Judge Vonda Evans was referring to and the words “plea deal” were never used. She did say there’s a lot at stake for Bashara, his children and the community.

“There is a chance that there may be a potential resolution,” Evans said. “I want to explore that.”

She did not elaborate and set a hearing for Sept. 24. Bashara, 56, faces several charges, including first-degree murder, in 2012 death of his wife, Jane Bashara.
