To LuckySeven: Thank you, that is how I recall the description the manager indicated....NOT blonde hair!!!

So, I hate it when police say "there is no link". I think what they really mean is there is no known link just yet. But I do think they downplay the link while they investigate. I really, really hope that this is the break they needed!!! I want some justice and answers for Jessica.

I was recently following a case here in Utah where the news reported a "possible link" between an abduction and assault case and a missing man. They immediately followed that with a report that there was NO link. The next thing we knew, his body was found in the are that the assailants were found hiding out. {Shaking head} Still no "link", but common sense says they are linked.

Information about Willis background are there any cases local to where he was I wonder.

"FOX 17 has learned the Willis was an employee of the Fruitport Public Schools, until 1999 when he was let go. Administrators at the district don’t know how long he worked there or why he was let go. We are told that Willis was a custodian and was not limited to working in any one building or assigned to any particular school.

More recently, Willis worked at Herman Miller’s Hickory facility in Spring Lake. He has been placed on leave pending the investigation. The company says they were unaware that Willis was being investigated before his arrest."

On the ID show, they said blonde hair. I'll find the mlive links as well.
On previous threads of this story people claimed the sketch looked like LLL a known sex offender who they thought could be a suspect.

Interesting location where he works. It is directly south of the Exxon gas station about 4-5 miles away. He lives north of the station about the same distance. I could see him stopping in for gas often and probably knows Jessica. I'm repeating myself but I would bet money he is the guy.

Even if his current van isn't the one seen on video it doesn't rule him out. Wouldn't you sell your van if you were involved in a crime caught on video?

BBM. Way to catch up guys. We were thinking he could be involved, too.... a page or two ago... ;)

I made sure I read back to where I left off lol I usually thank posts that I've read to help me find my place when I get back here lol

I think the WXYZ article is poorly written, police have been very careful so far not to go any farther than saying they're looking into possible connections between him and various other unsolved cases in the area; but honestly this whole thing has my head spinning. On the one hand, it could be just a sad terrible coincidence, but at the same time... how many guys in Muskegon are kidnapping young women in silver vans? I had the thought that maybe with all the press Jessica's case got he might have gotten rid of the van, but... the van we were all looking for was a Chrysler Town and Country, maybe he thought that since people were wrong about the make and model that they weren't on to him. I'm just not sure, honestly, but I have a very strong feeling this isn't his first time. I know it's not likely, but I can't help but hope that he's just had her locked up somewhere and she'll be able to go home to her little boy.

Praying they find a link or they question him saying they have proof, he admits to kidnapping Jess. I agree, how many people in silver mini vans abduct women/ girls? Sadly I don't think she's alive.

Wow... good to see this case moving forward !

Hoping that somehow she could be alive... but if not-- at least her remains could be returned to her loved ones.

More info about his background

"A Muskegon Township man charged with kidnapping a teenager was fired from Fruitport Community Schools for allegedly using a school computer to access a pornographic website.

That’s according to a former school employee involved with the firing of Jeffrey Willis. The employee said Willis’ inappropriate use exposed an Edgewood Elementary student to the pornographic site."

Every time I see an update here I so desperately want it not to be that this guy confessed to anything regarding Jessica because I want to believe she'll be reunited with her little one. :(

We all feel the same way I hate tragic outcomes when the victims have children it is even more heartbreaking. If this is the guy I don't think he will confess to anything judging by the awful smirk on his face in the mug shot I think he enjoys having the upper hand.

Threw this map together quickly.... this proximity is insane.... I'm generally a huge skeptic but OMG. What is the chance that there are two different dudes in silver vans kidnapping young women within a few square miles?

This link gives a helpful timeline of pertinent events from Jessica Heeringa being abducted, June 29th 2014 Rebekah "Becky" Bletsch being found close to death on the hard shoulder of a road and sadly dying soon after, the attempted kidnapping where the victim manages to escape the moving vehicle on April 16 2016, Jeffery Willis's arrest on May 17 2016 with his home searched for 10 hours, and finally Jeffery Willis's arraignment on May 18th 2016

I can see his likeness to the efit mugshot of the man who is alleged to have kidnapped Jessica at the blown up photo at the link.
