The body of 21-year-old Troy resident Jessica White, who had been missing for more than a week after visiting a friend in Hazel Park, was discovered by police Tuesday evening inside the attic of her friends home.
The womans friend is now in custody after allegedly showing police where Whites body was hidden inside his home.
White, whose body was severely decomposed after being found, died from strangulation by ligature, according to the Oakland County Medical Examiners Office.
Hazel Park Police Chief Martin Barner shared a report detailing that Hazel Park resident Jordan Donald McClanahan, 23, came to the Troy Police Department after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, to talk to detectives.

Beat me to it. So sad. Only 21 years on this earth. Justice for Jessica.I've been following this, so I wonder if the perp's father was involved, because of her last text. RIP Jessica.:moo:

unrecognizable. ugh, what the heck?!?
I have a problem with the "search" that was conducted of the house. When I filed a missing persons report on my brother the first time he left, the detective came to my house, asked if he could look around (of course) and that included opening up every attic/crawlspace opening in closets and my laundry room. This obviously wasn't done here.
It wouldn't have helped her by the time they were searching, but it would have given her family and friends the answer sooner.
If I wasn't working tonight, I'd go to the vigil. I'll be thinking about her.
