When Nevaeh's mother, Jennifer Buchanan, was told about the body, "she broke down, and broke down hard," said Michael Buchanan, her brother.

"She couldn't believe her daughter had to go through this," he said, adding that if it is Nevaeh's body it provides "some type of closure, even if it is for the worst

ETA: and the sighting (rumor) was last sunday... while she was missing

Thanks, NeeBee~ I still think it is one rumor that may not play out to be true or is a case of mistaken identity. Why would someone take her to Toledo then bring her back to the area to bury her in cement? Makes no sense.

Toledo is not far at all... I used to live there... but I do agree with you. I also do not think that the perp would be in public places parading her around.. but than we can look at Jet Duncan and know that other perps have done the same thing...

I agree with you both. How many times when we've followed these missing child cases do a "reported sighting" turn out to be, in fact, that child.

I still get excited when reports are made during cases, but it is tempered with the experience of knowing such sightings are so very rare.

If the video was from another area and she was seen upstairs all afternoon, she could not have been with the man at 1:45pm that Sunday.

A good question. Mrs Kuhn was not that specific when she said all afternoon. Didn't we read she went to play with the Kuhn friend around 3:15 after changing her clothes?

Possibly this man had been with Nivaeh earlier and took her back to the apt so she could change clothes and then he would pick her up later to go fishing. When Jennifer took her to the store {something new from last night} maybe she dropped her off at a store where she met this man. That could have been at the 6:30 time, so she could have been at the upstairs apt from 3:15 till then. Quite a long time to play IMO.

Maybe it wasn't premeditated and was an accidental death. There is thought she was being abused before this, as Child Services wanted her removed from her home. Maybe it was a normal outing if the mother was pimping out her daughter. Only a possibility but it has been brought up here before. xox

Last night on the way back from our sons graduation - we passed two girls MAYBE 5 and 6 riding down the street by theirselves in bathsuit tops and shorts --- (Keep in mind it was almost 9 pm at night - no street lights) hubby got out of the car - and thankfully had SOME idea who the parents were and escorted them both home (Im sure he had a few choice words for the parents)

Sorry about the ramble but my point is WTF is WRONG with parents --- Someone today was talking about how "things have changed" and they used to be allowed to wander around by theirselves for 8-10 hours a day --- My parents NEVER let us wander around unsupervised - as a teen it sucked -- but now that Im older - Im thankful!

Looking on the map between Monroe and Toledo, there are many areas of water and other places where the body could have been dumped. It would be out of the way considerably to go back to the river, imo.

I want to know more about the fight between GK and JB before she went missing. MB (brother) mentioned this early on when interviewed. Has anyone seen where he has elaborated more on this?

Sewing - the park is so close to our house I could yell back and forth to my son --- Who is now 10 (just graduated to Middle School) and thinks hes TOO old --- He is NOT allowed to go down there alone -- He MAY go if there are a group of 4-5 of them BUT all of those children have their own individual walkie talkies -- all of the parents are on the same link --- and I STILL catch myself sitting in the yard and watching ---

He says Im paranoid -- I say....I LOVE YOU!

Whether he's a boy or not - God only knows who's out there lurking.....I dont think at this point it matters whether or not your child is male or female 2 or 50 --- there is some sick freak out there who'd love to snatch them -- It makes me ill --

Yes, it had to be someone familiar with the area.

I am confused on the reports of Nevaeh going into the woods and the report about visiting "Daddy George" plus her being poked or stabbed in the stomach from the children. Where did the report come from intially? (I heard it on HLN.)

ETA: The article cleared this up and raises many more questions about JB.:

It was a condition of his parole. He was not supposed to be around children. And Yes, the "mother" knew he was a RSO... She met him at the parole office.

I haven't read anything, but it wouldn't surprise me with the moist area where she was found and other factors.

If true, I wonder if it had to do with the fight her brother reported between the two of them? Maybe she was apologizing?

The main road over there is M-50 but back off of 50 it is farmland then the river as you go north. hope that helps...

When it is appropriate I can get some pictures for us...
