If she is still a Marine, won't she be given a full military burial?

There has been no mention of the baby unless I have missed it somewhere. Is there speculation the baby survived as it would be viable?
 
She lived with her Roomate (name starts with D) that was on training in Cali that they brought back... but he is NOT a suspect just gave insight to her.
 
Welcome, KarainTex. I tend to agree with you. It had to be either a wife/SO, or maybe even a family member like a sister or mom.

Spazzy, she was living with a marine named Durham who allowed her to live in his house since she had been threatened after she accused Laurean of sexually assaulting her. Laurean is the suspect in her murder. Durham was brought back from his base in California as a witness.
 
Welcome to WS, KarainTX! There is certainly more to this case than we are getting so far. It is not only confusing, but we were actual being misled from the beginning, imo. The "come home speech" from the Sheriff specifically was part of misleading the public into thinking this girl was a runaway. The truth is finally starting to surface and we will get to it eventually, I hope.

I just cant help but wonder if that was actually meant to mislead the Suspect. I wonder if they were trying to force his hand or some such... I dont know, just a theory. I just know that i agree that there is no telling what we dont actually know. All the "twist and turns"

1.Main suspect named but, do we really know she is dead?
2.Maria was still alive after the 14th? How do we know that for sure?
3.If she is dead and buried but it is "yet to be determined" murdered. I want to know how in the heck she buried herself! That would be a trick now wouldn't it!

9.Again Idiot. Yes if she is dead she may have killed herself or may have died of natural causes but, how would she have buried herself?
10.Maybe dead, maybe not nothing would surprise me in this case. If she is dead could she have killed herself in front of the suspect in an act of desperation? Would he panic and bury her? If suspect is in another relationship could they have killed her and taken the baby and buried her? Could she have been murdered to shut her up? Is it possible she is not dead at all?
 
Thanks for clearing that up for me Indy Gal, Taximom, Karaintexas, Ticamom and Chicoliving. I knew that was just wrong. I wonder if mom or step mom depending on which channel you watch feels bad about calling her a liar. I also wonder who this EX-Marine who gave the tip, and why he let this happen in the first place, if he was there. If he wasn't there I hope he reported it as soon as he found out about it. I will have to keep an eye out for this guy, VA Beach is only a few hours from the base.
 
I feel sad about Maria. It seems the only people that has shown this girl compassion, friendship and mercy was the roomate Durham and the actual tipster who talked to police and has gave the current information concerning her status. Well and the neighbor who said the nice things about her that's being reported.

They are focusing on what they called an underground cavity in the backyard of a comrade she had accused of rape.
Sheriff Ed Brown says authorities don't plan to look anywhere else.
He says information from another woman, a former Marine, left investigators certain that 20-year-old Lance Corporal Maria Frances Lauterbach was dead, even though they hadn't yet found her remains.
Authorities suspended their search of the backyard of key suspect - Marine Corporal Cesar Armando Laurean - for the day shortly after 5 p.m. Friday.
 
Maria being threatened by her murderer must have been the reason that her roommate called the Mom to report that she had left the house. I had been wondering about that. I hope they soon catch the creep that killed Maria and the baby. Guess they're waiting to confirm that it's her, but they were pretty much saying that it is her on Starr Jones show.

Why am I wondering if Sheriff Brown would scratch his head and ask what is forensics?:doh:

Besides, he wouldn't want to offend the suspect's lawyers by looking for evidence which could be used against their client, would he?

He probably would want to stay "on the fence" in case he could be wrong. Better to do nothing than to risk being wrong, you know.
