At minimum, Kevin does not appear to be very curious. If I was chasing down a gunned abduction and someone said they were a "medical cop" I would at least ask if they were at TT for the same thing. And assuming I'm buying the medical cop job description, it would seem like he would be mobilized for medical treatment FOR JW

Kevin never knew about the abduction of Jacob until later that night when the gf's brother called him and told him Jacob had been abducted. (At least that's what he told Joy.) So he wouldn't have known a gunned abductor was involved. But now you made me curious about what exactly was said on the scanner. I've never thought about that before, but don't dispatcher's generally try to be rather vague in case the public is listening in? Because if they had said "abduction at Wetterlings" or maybe just a fire number?? you'd think Kevin, being local, would have known where to drive to. But instead, by the time they got in the cars and followed where they had seen cop cars go, they first went to the Del-Win ballroom thinking maybe something had happened there, and then went out 91st/16th and didn't see anything. The brother and his wife turned and went home according to Kevin's story. If Kevin and company thought it was something happening at the Del-Win, they may not have even said "abduction" on the scanner. Maybe they just said "all cars report to emergency"??

How'd the "new cop" know to escort the wetterlings?

Wasn't Kevin a student and his gf was the local? Do we know for sure the cop was there to escort the Wetterlings? Or was he watching for a car with a small child in it??

The cop could have been doing both. But LE has said in various news articles that they had a cop wait by the entrance to 91st/16th to escort the Wetterlings back home.

I've never heard that Kevin was a student. But he was 21.

Ok, he does not know what crime was perpetrated, someone is at TT and says they're a "medical cop", wouldn't it normal to say something like, "oh, what happened?" After chasing a vague thing from the scanner, wouldn't you ask a cop?

This is all just....bizarre. And I have a feeling whoever took Jacob is someone other than K or DR. I do think DR may have had the kidnapper in his driveway though. Maybe. Or not. I don't know anymore but....since no one else knows anymore either I think that's why we are all spinning around in this

They have a channel that is only for LE. The public cannot hear it

Here's what Kevin told Joy about the scanner:

"......ready to go when they heard something come across the police scanner. (The girlfriend’s mom always kept the scanner on in the background.) They hadn’t been listening closely, but thought they had heard something about kids, some bikes, Tom Thumb, and possibly a mask."

Wow, really? They heard about the bikes and they still considered putting them in their trunk?? Bizarro.

A fact

Matthew Feeney and Kevin were both 21 years old in October, 1989. Did they also both attend St. Johns University at the time?

Im beginning to wonder if the medical cop is just another person with a home police scanner from the area, that showed up just like Kevin to be into what was going on. A "geek" you could say.

Is it proven that Feeney was not alone after he dropped the kid off across from the Wetterlings? Is that his air tight alibi?
