The stepson's name is Nicholas P. Godejohn.

Someone who claims they know the family said they're scammers, trying to milk the system post-Katrina. She seems very certain, although nothing she said seemed very conclusive to me. She said she understands that the woman is dead and that people are angry, but that everyone will be far angrier when they find out why.

And her name is "Gypsy"

I don't know that anyone was faking anything to be honest, but what does seem obvious is that this girl isn't nearly as dependent as all the pics make it appear. I mean, she met a guy online and traveled 8+ hours north with him? Without a wheelchair? Now she's being held in the jail for questioning?

That sounds more like a perfectly able bodied young woman to me, not this sickly, frail, dependent child. I have a sick feeling the ME report indicating time of death and the LE investigation as to when Gypsy actually left that house (and when boyfriend McD showed up) will reveal more than anything.

Not a random attack, a very violent death (sounds more like crime of passion than anything) and all the conflicting comments from friends and family that know her (Gypsy). I think this case is going to get uglier than it already is.

It seems this thread and even the fb prayer page have experienced some extreme victim bashing, the mother was murdered so even if all these rumors were true, she is still a victim.

I'm not going to speculate anymore or try to defend this victim I don't know to people I don't know online. Everyone is entitled to their opinions! Although I do have reservations about fb posts trashing them for scamming when they could have reported it 15 years ago. I respect everyones pov, even if i disagree.

A few hours ago we were praying so hard for her safe return, she is alive! That's good enough for me no matter the circumstance, if she has done something wrong it is not my place to decide even if i did know all the facts.

I do know she is loved and her mother was loved RIP Dee Dee.

I know I am a cynic...but won't be surprised by any result. They would not be keeping the daughter if they did not believe she was capable of conspiring, at the very least, Imo, or if they felt she was "taken". She would have been released to family, social services or hospitalized. Jmo.

Her LA friend I will call SB says GRB had no problems walking, they shaved her head for 11 yrs. and she never had leukemia. She also says she is an RN. (All of this is FB scuttle). The reason I find SB credible is because she was one of the first on the Dee Gyp Blancharde FB to show genuine concern over the missing mother and daughter...to the point of calling police. She was also asking for the MO address from MO friends.

I think this may be much of the confusion....there is NO family there to release her to, social services in WI has NO jurisdiction to take her--as she is known to be a legal resident of another state and is an adult, we have seen no police statement showing she has NOT been checked out medically, just that she is in custody (this can be maintained at a medical facility), all of this would be normal of any VICTIM waiting for transport back to where they were taken from originally.

Wasn't wes hadsell wife found with him and questioned for the robbery but was later just deemed as a victim.

You have to play nice when you know you can not just up and leave and flee due to complications. Now of course LE is doing their due diligence.

Did local pd even pick them up yet or file extradition papers. They may not be holding her in a cell. Plus someone may had truly advised her to wait for a lawyer to avoid any lawsuits or mishaps for bullying information out of her. Jmo.

A kid can't fake that many symptoms and test results to doctors. And since she would have seen different doctors for difference things; Then she definitely couldn't fake out all of them. Even if mom was coaching her.

She seems like she has a diminished mental capacity. I wonder what her Iq is.

But people may say she faked that as well.

My mobile eats up gigabytes and charges me for more. So i rarely check videos on my phone. But she is a victim either way. She didnt ask for her lifestyle. Wether it was fabricated or not.

Yes. Even in 2005 and earlier (for quite a number of years) paper medical records were scanned and saved to microfilm, microfiche or disk. The family may have been referring to their own personal paper records, destroyed during Katrina. ????

Someone's physical appearances has nothing to do with how screwed up that person is. Plenty of dictators and mass murders were fragile and in poor health. Dismissing someone as a suspect because s(he) appears fragile is risky and superficial, imo.

Agree. The affluenza kid who got a year for killing 4 people and injuring 2 while drinking and driving after a liquor heist still amazes me.

Some deserves more sympathy than others.
