So I am thinking whoever left the baby in the apartment complex is quite familiar with the neighborhood if they left him out of harms way. They chose a relatively safe place in a high crime area.

I'm not completely local -- I work in St. Louis but live about 40 miles away on the Illinois side of the river -- but IMO, yes. East St. Louis, definitely . . . the area near where the baby was found is near the airport, IIRC, which is surrounded by a lot of high crime areas.

Jackson was last seen by her boyfriend, who is also the baby's father, in Oklahoma on Wednesday when she left to visit family in St. Louis, East St. Louis, Belleville and O'Fallon.

Are the two places bolded above in Missouri?

Actually, of this list, only St. Louis is in MO. Belleville and O'Fallon are both in IL. There is an O'Fallon in MO as well, but I doubt that's what is being talked about here. Belleville, O'Fallon and East St. Louis are all in IL, and are in close proximity to each other.

Maybe some locals can help out. Is the area she was last seen in and the area where the baby was found high crime areas?

It is a pretty high crime area. It's not as bad as E. St. Louis, in my opinion, but not a great area. It's sort of on the edge of what we locals call "North County", and while mostly middle class, there are some sketchy areas that seem to be growing.

Ok, so I didn't realize that St. Louis and East St. Louis are in two different states, I thought they were both in Missouri.( I really need to refresh on my geography).

I wonder if the friends/family she was supposed to visit in the other places in Illinois ever saw her. My understanding from the articles was after she visited all those people she was supposed to continue on to visit her mother in Denver.

ETA: Her car that is missing along with her has Colorado plates. I wonder if she lived there at one time as well.

i believe that Ebony's middle initial is T based of a search of Colorado whitepages.

Should I change my map? O'Fallon MO is not too far from where the baby was found. I don't know if that means anything or not.

We don't really know for certain, but I would reflect O'Fallon, IL on the map, not O'Fallon, MO. O'Fallon, MO is not too far away, but it's quite a bit west of both St. Louis and especially E. St. Louis. In fact, it's in St. Charles County, not St. Louis County, and is only recently developing into an area that isn't completely rural. E. St. Louis, IL and Belleville, IL are a lot closer to each other (and closer to O'Fallon, IL) than they are to O'Fallon, MO. Those places in IL (as well as the area that the baby was found in MO) are very urban, which is why I'm doubtful she would have visited/lived in O'Fallon, MO, and why I think we're likely talking about O'Fallon, IL in this case. JMO. Hopefully all that jabber made some sense!

I'm trying to find a politically correct way of saying O'Fallon, MO is a whole different world from Belleville, IL, St. Ann, MO, E. St. Louis and O'Fallon, IL. Not necessarily in a bad way, but just totally different environments. :blushing:

St. Louis, MO and E. St. Louis, IL are just right across the river from each other. E. St. Louis is a very poor, high crime community. My husband was born and raised there, and I remember when we were dating, he took me on a "tour" of his old neighborhoods. I was terrified the whole time, though I now know it's not as horrible as its reputation- as long as you know where to go and where to stay away from. It is extremely run-down, though, and there are more houses that are abandoned than lived in. Most of the people are wonderful, but it is home to the notorious Washington Heights neighborhood, which is why it has such a horrible reputation.

the name that came up with that docket; DLJames came up in an interesting google search. Not sure what it all means. :waitasec:

Sounds like from what we do know for sure, coupled with some of the things that WS'ers are piecing together, this poor woman has had a helluva life. God bless her, and I pray she is found safe and sound. She has obviously been through enough, and was poised to live a blessed life from this point on. So sad.

I don't believe that is the right person. An Ebony T. is listed in Colorado with her mother SJ.

Friends, Family Identify Woman as Abandoned Baby's Mother

http://kplr11.com/2013/01/06/friends-family-identify-woman-as-abandoned-babys-mother/

Almost sounds like they're treating this as a case in which a mother "abandoned" her baby. I do NOT believe that's what happened here. That baby was a miracle for Ebony, and was loved by both Mommy and Daddy. I hope this is just a weird slant MSM is putting on the case, and not the way LE is actually investigating Ebony's disappearance.
