MO - Furious Friends Demand Answers After 3 Men Found Dead at Kansas City Home Days After Watching Football Game, January 2024 #4

I know a lot of Canadians roll their eyes when PM Justin Trudeau suggests getting at the root cause of why so many people are addicted to drugs but most of the things we currently do, like providing free naloxone, arresting drug pushers, sometimes charging them with murder or manslaughter, giving "the talk" to kids, etc. seem to be ineffectual band aid solutions to this epidemic. Why do so many people want to take such dangerous drugs?
Because a lot of them have the disease of addiction unfortunately.

Just because you might see someone in your back yard in no way translates to the same being true for someone else. There's been a lot of discussion about this. BTW, it wasn't several days. Common sense tells me it was less than 2 days. MOO
I agree. Many people don’t pay attention to their back yard.

For example, we rarely use our front door. We enter and exit through our garage or patio door.

Someone unexpectedly sent us flowers once and they were delivered at our front door. They sat there until the next week when we finally used the front door to retrieve a package we had been expecting.

Of course, with his two big dogs. According to the other witness, the dogs were there. <modsnip - rude>
Dogs do have to go outside.

OK imagine JW only drank that evening. He signed into rehab after the whole episode - meaning, he admitted to problem drinking. So he drinks until he gets lethargic, sleeps, wakes up with a hangover and either takes Alka Seltzer (better option), or drinks again, till he gets comatose. I know people who ordered delivery of the next batch via instacart, but maybe JW’s getting out of the house was in the context of a trip to the nearest liquor store. Not noticing three bodies in his backyard? Easily. I would be more surprised to hear that he was fully aware and jogged around the house the next day, tbh. JMO.

It wasn't the next day. It was two days. The gathering was on the 7th, the police were called after 9 p.m. (maybe after 10) on the 9th. Earlier in the day on the 9th it snowed. Just throwing the part about snow in there because i don't know if there was snow on the 7th, but it got colder after the 7th.

There have been multiple reports the dogs were not there, that they were at JW's parents' house as they often were. Certainly dogs were not there when the woman broke into the house on the 9th and when LE arrived.

You are correct this issue has been discussed on WS. However, despite using several sets of search terms to google, I cannot locate an actual report in the MSM where the "other witness"/"5th person" said the dogs were there. I can find 1) statements on WS (with no supporting links) that claim the 5th person said that and 2) a statement from an attorney representing the family of one of the dead men that says the 5th person said that. Does anyone have a MSM link to the 5th person's statement about the dogs?

Regardless, since I can't find documentation of the 5th person actually making that statement, assuming he said it I've found nothing to suggest he was asked if he could possibly be wrong on that point. Could he have confused that night with other nights when the dogs were present? I know if I were planning a gathering that would involve tons of alcohol and potentially rowdy guest behavior, I'd be concerned about my pets' comfort. I'd also be concerned that even well-behaved dogs might react negatively to boisterous guests. (I've owned a number of German Shepherds. They are wonderful dogs but I've always felt I have to be cautious and protect them given how GSDs are often viewed. I'd think an owner of Pit Bulls would also be cautious because of public perceptions.)

The 5th person, identified as AWL, is a person who has spoken mostly through his attorney. He is a person who didn't publicly come forward and admit he was at the house until after he hired a criminal attorney. In contrast, JW spoke with LE without an attorney present on the 9th and allowed a search of his home.

AWL's identity was revealed on January 27 by the Daily Mail, nearly 3 weeks after the sports gathering on the 7th. That publication also revealed AWL has past convictions for drugs (3 in MO and 1 in CO) although the incidents were not terribly recent. His record may be part of the reason he was reluctant to come forward. Of course, if he was using drugs on the 7th, the accuracy of his recollections may be questionable.

For me, evidence that the dogs were at the house during those 2 days is at best weak, or at worst non-existent.

POI for what?
Is that sarcasm?
I can think of a long list of possible crimes that could have taken place and charges that might be filed.
We're not allowed to discuss people outside what is reported in mainstream media unless and until they are officially declared a person of interest or charged with a crime

It's an honest question. I'm sure with the family pressure, as well as how big of a story this is/was in the media, LE has looked at this seven ways to Sunday, just to make sure that they aren't missing anything with regards to any criminal activity (aside from the drugs they took, that is) that resulted in the deaths of these men. Either they didn't find anything, or they did and haven't announced it, or they're still investigating. I don't think they have anything to arrest anyone for, unless they manage to track down who sold the tainted drugs to them. What possible crimes/charges do you think apply here?

At this time, the official tox report and autopsy reports haven't been released, correct ?
Just the friend or relative who said they had viewed the tox report only ?
I'm way behind and will catch up ; but I hadn't noticed an update recently.

I believe that's correct. Still waiting on the official reports.

Either they didn't find anything, or they did and haven't announced it, or they're still investigating.
Snipped for focus.
Bolding mine.

All three are certainly possible.
As far as where the items were sourced and any applicable charges, I think it varies from state to state ?
It doesn't look like LE think there was any intentional foul play or I think we'd know by now.
But again as far as your third suggestion ; yes I think it's feasible.

I'd imagine the bodies have been released for burial by now ?
Hoping their families will be able to find peace with the answers, at the conclusion of the investigation.
Omo.

These three men didn't expect to die. I imagine young people might have more of an invincible attitude-- "it won't happen to me".

Sharing this article because it is part of the topic-- how families take the death of a loved one from a possible toxic drug reaction. What the Grandmother expressed really touched me. How maybe a seldom drug user now days can die from something toxic like fentanyl being unknowingly added. The families are left shattered by the loss. How to prevent it? Getting the word out, bringing awareness is only the start.

(The MSN article has more about the Grandson and more expression in it.)

Esther Wojcicki added, “We want to prevent this from happening to any other family.”

Eta... What people might mean about criminal charges. I obviously don't know if this applies in this case, or who might have sold it.
I know a few new years ago in Saskatchewan a friend of mine and 4 others were given laced coke and they died the dealer was charged with manslaughter in all 4 . Jmoo there could and should be charges in my opion

Don't you think that casinos should be sued as well? They know the dealers, I am positive.

This is from the department of justice. And the man wasn't sued, he was put in prison in Missouri. I am only saying, this is a thing that has happened in the same state in a possibily similar situation.

Eta,, the edit was spelling. I wrote possibility originally
