Question: Didn't that Charles guy on Twitter say he had big news to share tonight that would turn the whole case upside down or something like that? Is this what he was talking about??? If so, not really seeing it that much.

Thanks for posting that link. It's clear that prior to giving this interview she had been speaking with MB's family and friends ( "hearing from all his friends and family"). I wonder if one of the friends was Dorian Johnson? Given the discrepancies in her various accounts of what she saw I am beginning to doubt that she witnessed anything first-hand and I wonder if she was only relating what she heard friends and family discussing.

Yeah. Is this the news we were waiting for?

All posts are MOO

Piaget said in one interview she did not know who he was at the time the shooting was taking place but when she found out later his name recalled having hung out w him a "couple of times" Just going on memory. I could be wrong.

We do need to get back on topic. There have been plenty of links provided regarding why officers are instructed to carry out deadly force in this thread and previous threads. Please feel free to refresh your memory. If you disagree with the information you find regarding the use of deadly force in other matters there is a political thread in the basement. This thread is for Michael Brown discussions only.

Thanks, Lambchop

My dad is from Canada and I've been up there to visit family. I was shocked when I heard what my Canadian cousins had to say about Native Americans.

It was extremely racist and left me confused as to why they would talk like that. JMO.

Did I miss any new earth shattering news or "leaks"??

Another member alluded to that tension earlier today, but that was before the elevator to the basement opened up.

Ok then, I'm open minded and will listen to any explanation about why the USA is more violent and has more guns---which is what a Canadian poster here was wondering.
If you know the answer to it then please explain.

Personally, I think history has something to do with it, and the 2nd Amendment has a LOT to do with it. When firearms are considered a constitutional right, it's really hard to regulate them in any way.

Can someone explain the basement thing to me? I think I missed something! And it appears to be humorous :)

You got it, just read her very first interview in the street and you'll have all you need to know.

What I find interesting is how she says he was unarmed in the video SHE TOOK. How would she know that when she was upstairs in her apartment???

Is there a link to that? I'd love to see that, thanks!

Right but the 2nd Amendment was born out of our history of the Revolution. And that was my first answer.
I also think that USA history is different from Canada largely because of Revolutions against Britain (you know, we don't have the Queen on our currency..wink, wink), our super-bloody Civil War, annihaltion of the Native Americans and then also Slavery. Additionally unique to the USA was the total number of immigrants that entered the country from the 1800's to the early 1900's----staggering numbers.
These are my own opinions on what I feel makes the USA unique and for me, explains a lot about our current culture of violence.
To me, our sister country of Canada has it's own culture.
