I have a browser for the "underweb", what are y'all looking for? The browser is free for anyone to download.

So far we have found no social media for this guy on the lighter side of the web. LE reportedly found child sex abuse and *advertiser censored* images in his home. They came from somewhere. People with those proclivities do not do so in a vaccuum. I am wondering if he trolled the underweb and that is why we are not finding any sort of online activity on this guy. I think his activity is probably in places most of us are too afraid to venture.

In 2006 I moved back home to care for my Mom. Back to the house I grew up in actually. This house over the years has been added onto 3 times. Once when running water came in, to add a bathroom, off the kitchen. Once again along the back to add another bathroom for us kids later and the dining room. That part with a cinderblock foundation. And then after I got out od college and moved away my Grandmother was showing signs of Alzheimers Disease. So my Father added on once again to put a one bedroom "mother in law" quarters for her and moved her from Indiana. That part he had a full basement under it. So there is a "crawl space under the original house and a basement under that one. Make sense?

Back in the day people bought homes for a lifetime. As my Mom would say "to die here". But all in all the original house was about 700 square feet. Now it's about 2300 square feet. And she did was she said, she died here.

Yes, and I've seen that kind of adding on where we live, too - especially when we lived in an older neighborhood. Homes with crawl spaces can have basements, though it's not as common. And this house could have been a 700sq' one to start with, with the east end added later, maybe. But the fact that this stairway to the basement starts in that added-on vestibule (according to the search warrant docs) just has my curiosity up. When you enter the east door, it seems the stairway would almost have to go left (southward, under the yard) rather than right. Otherwise, from what I can make out of the interior photos, it seems it would be going right into the kitchen counters and stove (or into a narrow hallway entry east of the kitchen all along the east side of the house).

Don't mind me with all this...hubby and I have spent a lifetime looking at construction and playing with possibilities with home redos. Started out as financial necessity, now it's in our blood and just a hobby. Favorite show to watch together?--Property Brothers. ;)

In any case, I'm pretty sure LE will investigate thoroughly...

Springfield's Craigslist for "casual encounters" hookups has over 150 listings just for today Feb 23. http://springfield.craigslist.org/cas/

Definitely NSFW: don't click on the pics, just use your imagination.

A lot of times in those homes the stairs to those storm cellars were actually outside the house. You know with those funny looking doors, nearly horizontal to the ground. Maybe the just covered it so rain wouldn't get in.

Last August in Golden City MO, less than 60 miles from Springfield, Adriaunna Horton was playing with friends when she snatched from a city park. The abduction was immediately reported by her friends. LE located the perp within two hours but it was too late.

“Yesterday, my little girl was over here. She just got home from school. She went to Hazel's Park here in Golden City, she was playing with her sisters and two friends and a guy pulled up and coaxed my daughter over to the vehicle and abducted her,” said Adriaunna’s dad, James Horton of Golden City."

It concerns me that there was all that much to "clean up" in the basement. A .22 or .25 bullet itself in my experience does not create that much. And it should not have created that much of an impact on her skull, etc.. I'm not an authority on the subject. Maybe someone in LE could weigh in on it better, so JMO.

Question, I noticed on the search warrants that Items to be searched for did not include a body, nor was it listed under items found. Is there a separate warrant for that? Also if the body was fully clothed when they found her.

There were actually 2 separate search warrants for the house at 1538 E. Stanford St. One search warrant (the 1st) pertained to Hailey's body and all evidence and property directly related to her. She was named as part of the search in the warrant. It also specifies her clothing and other belongings of hers.
See the first page after the listed inventory items, in the link below.
That is the search warrant #1.

Search Warrant #1

The 2nd search warrant was mainly for all other supportive evidence, as well as items of evidence belonging to CMW.

Search Warrant #2

Also another poster mentioned the possibility of (hmm, how do I say this gently) Hailey's head being severely 'non-intact' (my words) due to the gunshot. I would feel safe to say I don't believe this would be the case, at all.
It's reported that she was shot with a .22 caliber firearm. It would most likely be a very common .22 rimfire round, which in nearly all cases, does not cause anywhere near that extent of bodily damage/disfigurement. Simply put, it is very effective for loss of life, especially at close range and tragically as we know, but too small and not powerful as a cartridge to do any noticeable disfigurement of that nature, in nearly all cases. jmo jme

Mother of Boys Coached by Craig Wood Reacts to Arrest
“There wasn't any inkling, no premonition, no nothing,” says House. “What would put in that position. What would make him snap? I don't know what to say.”

Many parents with children at the school have the biggest lesson yet to teach their children.

“Need to remind our kids that just because they've been nice and sweet up until this time, doesn't mean that they're going to continue that way,” says House. “We always have to be careful.”

KOLR10 reached out Wood's father, Jim Wood.

He says that this is a very difficult time for his family and will be issuing a statement later this evening.

Still no sign of her? How awful.

Last I read the parents had not been allowed to see her body. I'd put a sad face on that comment, but in a way, I think it's also a blessing.

Sadly, if she died as a result of a shotgun blast to the back of her head, there probably isn't much left to see of her frontside. :(

Thousands Gather For Hailey Owens' Candlelight March

Nobody expected a response this big - thousands gathered in north Springfield to honor Hailey Owens' memory with a candlelight march down Commercial Street.

Joe Bridges put the idea on facebook, and the response was huge: an estimated 10,000 people.

"I'm overwhelmed. I'm speechless. This community has answered," says Bridges...

Hailey's extended family members Reagan and David Haskins say they can't thank the community enough for its support.

Good video coverage, too.

I agree fully, jggordo. I also addressed a portion of this a moment ago, but I'll add that I have seen a number of victims shot at close range by a .22 LR rimfire, as well as many other (larger) calibers. Some victims were shot multiple times, up to 7-8 shots that entered various locations on their body. Some with head shots. Some ended fatally, some didn't. I can tell you a true story of a 68 yr old man surviving a direct contact head shot from a .25 auto (attempted suicide), and talking to me somewhat muffled, but very clearly, immediately afterward. Most would find that hard to believe, as I sure did at that moment.

The .22 cartridge, most times, (except in unusual cases), even at close range does very little 'visible' damage, and in many cases there is negligible blood loss. Even on a rear head or base of head shot, there is usually just a tiny hole for entry, and in most cases the .22 is not powerful enough to exit. Even if it does exit, most of it's energy is lost, and little damage even on exit wounds. That is why I am still very 'troubled' by the extent of clean up evidence. I hate to say this, but some things don't add up.

Others here may see the term .22 LR at some later time, so hence the clarification in parenthesis. (The LR stands for long rifle, however that is only a term for the cartridge and does not imply it has to be fired from a rifle). It is the exact same cartridge for handgun or rifle.

I don't expect the autopsy report to come to public knowledge until trial. Out of reverence to the family and the public's need to know. Each state has different positions on that subject. Kansas not at all. Texas all out there. I don't know for sure about Mo.

without being too terribly graphic, we do not know what Wood did to Hailey before killing her. Some of the cleanup effort seen by LE may not have involved cleaning up blood or evidence of the killing itself. It may have been cleanup to remove other bodily fluids that could have been the result of fear, terror, rape or whatever actions Wood perpetrated upon Hailey pre-murder :(
