I would imagine this was at least one of the pieces of evidence they needed to charge him with that. I'm starting to think that we all agree that he has burns to his face.? Gotta wonder about the rest of his body.

Yust was charged with knowingly burning in relation to Runions' vehicle, which was found burned in Kansas City in a remote area just off of Blue River Road and 95th Street on Saturday.

Jessica Runions Update: MAN ARRESTED FOR BURNING MISSING WOMAN'S VEHICLE THAT WAS THAT WAS FOUND ABANDONED IN SOUTH KANSAS CITY

Authorities in Kansas City, Missouri say that a 27-year-old man, Kylr Yust, was arrested and charged with “knowingly burning” a missing woman’s vehicle, Jessica Runions, of Raymore, that was found in a secluded area, according to the Daily Mail.


On the night of Thursday, September 8, Jessica and her boyfriend went to a house party, but when she failed to return, her mother – Jamie Runions – reported her missing the following day.


“She had constant contact, it’s not like her to not return phone calls. Maybe a long period of time but she would eventually get back with you,” said Michele Runions, who is Jessica’s aunt.


Jessica’s grandmother, Linda Runions, stated that “we’re all praying every single minute’ and desperately wants to “hear that she’s okay.”


“We just want her to come home safe,” Michele add.

Just shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, local authorities received an anonymous tip, leading them to a burnt, black 2012 Chevy Equinox that was abandoned near an overpass in south Kansas City.


It was later uncovered that the vehicle belonged to the missing woman, prompting Missouri police to treat Jessica’s “disappearance as a suspicious missing person case.”


Yust, who sources say was seen leaving the house party with Jessica, was charged with burning her SUV. However, details leading up to Yust’s arrest were not immediately made available.

Man accused of torching missing woman's car had ex who vanished in 2007

A man facing charges in the burning of a vehicle belonging to a 21-year-old Missouri woman who has been missing since last week was the subject of a protection order nearly a decade ago by his teenage ex-girlfriend who also vanished, court records show.

Jessica Runions, 21, was last seen leaving a party Thursday night, and her mother reported her missing the next day. Runions’ car was discovered Saturday in south Kansas City, burned and abandoned. Police are treating her disappearance as a suspicious missing person case.


“We’re all praying every single minute,” Linda Runions said of her granddaughter, who worked in the restaurant of a senior living community in the Kansas City suburb of Raymore. “Just to hear that she’s OK.”


Kylr Yust, 27, was arrested Sunday morning on charges of “knowingly burning” Runions’ vehicle, police spokeswoman Sgt. Kari Thompson said.


Yust was being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond. He faced no other charge in Runions’ disappearance and police have released no details about the relationship between them. Mike Mansur, a spokesman for Jackson County’s prosecutor, declined to discuss the matter, saying by email only that “the case is now under seal.”

I wonder if he had a beard and longer hair when he burned the vehicle. It looks like the redness stops where his beard would have started. He may have singed both his beard and his hair, thus quickly shaving it off and haphazardly cutting off his hair.

BTW, thanks for bringing this story here. I recall following the story here when his first girlfriend, Kara, disappeared/ was killed. Back then, the police didn't take her disappearance seriously at first, treating it as a runaway case. So sad that he was free to commit more crimes against women.

I know it was last week, either Thursday or Friday, that I watched an episode of Crime Watch Daily where they reported on Kara Kopetsky. At the end of the segment one of the reporters was at KY's house where he lives with his grandparents and asked to speak with him. His grandfather said KY couldn't come out to speak because he was in the shower. (yeah right)

I know it wasn't filmed last week, but it aired last week. At least in my area. (Eastern Tn) Would it have aired everywhere the same day? Did Jessica go missing Thursday or Friday? Thank you in advance everyone!

Oh, my. The timing is very unsettling. It probably wasn't that long ago that the Crime Watch Daily reporter interviewed him and he knew the segment was going to be aired soon.

A week before the animal abuse charges, Yust was placed on two years probation after pleading guilty to beating and choking his 18-year-old pregnant girlfriend. According to police reports, Yust allegedly told the teen that he could dispose of body parts in a pig pen on a family ranch.

Missouri Man Charged With Burning Missing Woman's SUV

A Missouri man was arrested Sunday for burning the SUV of a 21-year-old woman who vanished on Thursday night, police said.

Kylr Yust, 27, was seen leaving a party on Thursday with Jessica Runions, of Raymore, south of Kansas City. On Friday night at 10:30 p.m. (11:30 p.m. ET), Runions was reported missing, and nearly four hours later, her black Chevy Equinox was found burned and unoccupied in South Kansas City.

Yust was arrested at 8:30 a.m. in Edwards, about two hours southeast of Kansas City, and charged with knowingly burning Runions' vehicle, Kansas City police said.

It was not immediately clear if Yust had a lawyer.

Jessica was last seen after a party on Thursday night, but wasn't reported missing by her family until later on Friday. By Saturday, she had been missing a few days. I'd say they are possibly related, in that maybe KY knew they were being aired and was on edge, but it's hard to say.
