Re: the 9 names

Perhaps it is a total from mom, dad and extended family not just dad.

snipped:

Jeremy Irwin, Lisa’s father, told local media that whoever took his daughter also took all three of their cell phones so they couldn’t call anybody, including 911.

I hate to be a negatice Nancy but does this strike anyone else as odd. If he was just getting home from work, wouldn't he have taken a cell phone with him? Wouldn't at least one of the phones been in the room with mom, or if the boys had phones wouldn't they have had them in their room?? I know my niece practically sleeps with hers. I pretty sure they weren't all in the room with baby Lisa, so the kidnapper would have walked around the whole house picking up cell phones and no one heard anything???

Did dad say the reason the phones were taken was to prevent the 911 call? I mean, did he provide a theory along with the fact that they were taken? That seems odd, if he did, JMO.

I recall hearing in the video that all three phones were together on the kitchen counter. Perhaps that's just where they put phones at night. Maybe that's where they charge phones. I dunno...

From what I understand, they were all in one place because mom was reprogramming them because one was broken or something like that.

I keep going back and forth on the 9 suspects given by the dad. One the one hand if I thought about everyone in our life I could come up with 0 people. But then I think, well DH has has 3 old girlfriends (from 20+ years ago) try to contact him on FB, he's blocked them. But one of them has continually tried to contact him, thru his friend, thru skype, thru linkedin. So I guess someone like that would be on my list, but I've never met her, DH hasn't seen her in 20 years. She's made it very clear she's not over DH. Maybe they've recently had ex's try to wiggle their way back into their lives? Maybe an ex feels like Lisa is the only thing keeping them together and w/Lisa out of the picture they can have D or J back?

It seems like quite a stretch, but he did come up with 9 names. 9 people he knows that he worries could have taken his child?

Could you come up with 9 names? I can come up with about 3. But nine names just seems a bit much.

Yes, unfortunately, I could, and probably more. Not that I think any one of them would actually come into my home and take my child. But if my child were missing and questions were posed to me by LE. Yeah. I totally could.

I should explain that my husband is a construction contractor. In that business, he uses day labor. It means sometimes he needs help but he does not need help enough to have people on a permanent payroll. These people can be "rustled up" in a number of ways. Even so far as driving by the local Goodwill and finding someone down on their luck. In the construction industry or when getting day labor in this manner, there are sometimes men who have drinking and/or drug problems. This usually becomes pretty clear shortly after they begin working and those types do not often stay long (a day or two). Because of that there are often disputes as to how much is owed or why they are not being asked to return the next day to continue work.

Sorry to be so windy. But Yeah. We could totally come up with the names of some people who

a) might break into our home

or

b) might wish us harm

Which is why we have motion sensors, good locks and very large dark who barks at any movement.

I'm Robyn, new to this site, and I love it! This is the most interesting site I've ever been on!

I'm very illiterate about cell phones, other than how to text and make a call. If these cells were taken to another town, say St. Louis, then there would have to be somebody in St Louis to check for a ping from that phone. Right?

I was just thinking that if the phones were taken, and then taken to an area several hours away, there wouldn't be a ping. What about SIM cards? If those are removed and replaced with new cards, the phone couldn't be traced. Right? Or could it, because there are serial numbers on them.

I'm sure somebody has already tried actually calling the numbers to see if they hear a ring. That's probably the first thing they did.

Your ping is recorded/connected to your phone account. So taking it out of the area it can still be checked. But if SIM card is changed I think that would change things. Because your SIM card connects your account to your phone.

I went on craigslist and came up with some for that area however not sure if its helpful.

8/23- Lees Summit

9/12 5016 n washington gladstone MO

10/3-10/5 820 s grand ave Independence

It also had a Northland Macaroni Kid program running 9/29 till 10/10. Listed a bunch of locations, not sure if a local can help with this

Hi everyone! I have spent my entire life in the Northland...or North of the River as it was when I grew up.
The areas listed with the exception of Gladstone are not near the area of the family's home. Even Gladstone is not all that close, but it is in the northland.
If you have never lived in KC, the size of the entire area metro area would seem confusing. We are a city of HUGE urban sprawl. Even being in the northland does not mean you are close to other areas of the northland.

Did dad say the reason the phones were taken was to prevent the 911 call? I mean, did he provide a theory along with the fact that they were taken? That seems odd, if he did, JMO.

The way I understood it, he meant they weren't able to call 911 from the home because they had no cell phone. Not sure how they called 911 though. Some speculated from a neighbour's house. Mom was waiting on the front yard for LE.

That's what I wondered early on when I first read his statement about not being able to call 911. If I didn't have a landline, I'd sleep with my cell. He's out working all night...what if he needed me or I needed him?

But, to each their own, I suppose.

All 3 phones were in the same place on the kitchen counter according to the mom.

So if the bedroom window on the far right of the home is the computer room and there are 3 bedrooms upstairs, does that mean the master is in the basement? Do we have clarification on whether both or just one of the boys was sleeping with mom? I've seen it both ways.

If mom & both boys were sleeping in the basement, that would surely explain how someone came in the home and no reason to not turn on the lights. Maybe they came in saw there was no one upstairs.

Yes, I have read that it was just the 5 year old, and also that both boys were with mom.IMO, if both boys were with mom, it sounds like this was a planned sleeping arrangement, not that both boys woke up and came into her room. Unless they were both up after she went to bed,and she went and got them, and had them sleep in their parents' room ? Do we know when the two boys went to sleep ? So, the parents bedroom is possibly in the basement ? And Lisa's room is on another floor ? I'm curious to know how many SQ feet is the house ?
