Here is an interesting PDF about the neighborhood, Chouteau Estates...
http://www.kcmo.org/idc/groups/city...cuments/cityplanninganddevelopment/019233.pdf

This part (page 8) chaps me to the max. Note that the date of this report is in 2002. NONE of this has been addressed. In fact it is worse! Just sayin....

Other Road and Infrastructure Improvements
n Install sidewalks along N.E. Parvin Road between N.E. Chouteau and North
Brighton to accommodate pedestrians, especially children who walk to Eastgate
Middle School and Chouteau Elementary School
n Widen and improve N.E. Chouteau from M-210 to N.E. Parvin
n Initiate the Buckeye watershed study as a means of addressing drainage problems
in the Chouteau Estates neighborhood
n Build a walking bridge across the section of Buckeye Creek that connects the
Buckeye Greenway to the Chouteau Elementary school grounds

grrrrr. We have tried as a neighborhood to get this stuff done to no avail.

FOX: police captain says police are frustrated but no plans to shut down.

Monday October 3, 2011 10:00 p.m. Last seen in crib wearing purple shorts and purple shirt with white kittens on it.

**Possibly seen by Mr. Parscale (a man that lives in the area) according to his wife Lisa around 12:00 a.m. Tuesday wearing only a diaper being carried by a male. Quote from Lisa--“He seen the guy act like he was going to go into a residence,” Parscale said, “but then my husband drove off so we’re thinking that maybe he was just doing that so that my husband would leave.”

**Parscale says her husband saw the man walking on a street perpendicular to North Lister, where Lisa Irwin lives with her parents and brothers.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 3:30 a.m. (first report stated it was 4:00 a.m.) Father returns home from work and discovered baby missing from crib.

UPDATE at 2:00 p.m. October 4 presser Capt. Steve Young speaking—Parents’ story has no holes. Looking into neighbor that possibly saw Lisa being carried by the male. No suspects other than neighbor sighting.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 approx. 7:00 p.m. amber alert cancelled. Lisa is considered a MISSING/ENDANGERED JUVENILE. Per police the alert has served it’s purpose. Police and dogs will search for a while into the night.

*** Tuesday night authorities searched a van and car at the home. There is no word on what police found or were looking for. Officers searching for the child focused on areas near the family's home such as railroad tracks near the north side of the Missouri River and a wooded area behind the home. http://www.fox4kc.com/news/wdaf-aut...rch-for-missing-baby-20111005,0,6273053.story

Next news conference sometime this afternoon.

2:00 news conference—Jeremy spoke with Deborah (Bradley?) by his side. Begged for baby to be dropped off somewhere safe. The brothers are waiting to see their sister. Declined to take questions.

Again, Capt. Has no leads, not ruling out anything. 300 knocks and searches. 46 tips. No ransom note. Family is free to go where they would like. Family does not want to be at house.

**Alleged sighting of Lisa with a middle aged white male and female at a Love’s gas station in St. Joseph, MO I-29 and US HWY 169. Driving older model SUV. Article came out around 5:15 p.m. Surveillance video has been turned over to LE. Police say it doesn’t seem to be a major lead.

Thursday October 6, 2011

**Jeremy and Debbie provided LE with a list of 9 names of people that could be possible suspects.

**Per Debbie regarding cell phones and possible other missing items:

~one of the cell phones did not work.. all three were on the counter and she was in the midst of reprogramming them/putting numbers into them

~phones were gone

~she did not notice if anything else was taken.. all she cares about is that the baby was gone.

~she grabbed the boys and went out into the yard and flagged down LE when they pulled into the yard

http://livewire.kmbc.com/Event/Live_Blog_Amber_Alert_Issued_For_Missing_10-Month-Old

** police detectives are meeting early this morning to talk about where to search next.

**per Debbie, “Lisa is very sweet and will go to almost anybody.”

**per Jeremy, window was not tampered with, so perp (s) must have come in through unlocked front door.

**Lisa went to bed at 7:30 p.m. Debbie went to bed at 10:30 after checking on Lisa. 5 year old son slept with Debbie in parents room.

***Debbie and Jeremy have a heated discussion with LE before speeding off in police car to command center to find out about possible new lead. http://www.fox4kc.com/news/wdaf-lis...scussion-with-police-20111006,0,5671503.story

Just a thought about how LE has said that they have searched the same spots 2-3 times. Unless they're talking about searching once with 1 type of dog, then with another type of dog, then without dogs, then with CSI suits, re-searching due to evidence/info that has since come to light...

Maybe they are re-searching areas to see if perp(s) has left any evidence since the search(es), thinking that LE won't come back there.

Probably all of the above. :)

Have been trying to catch up on the thread but checked the end in case of any good news....

And I just read back and saw BeanE's post about parents going to command center about possible new lead....

Someone made a post yesterday although it seems a year ago but it made sense to me.

Construction workers, electricians, people to contract out will refer to the "next" job as being a "new" job. So I'm not 100% convinced this was a "brand new" job for the father.
Just trying to keep things in perspective.

A quick thank you to Shelby1 for maintaining the timeline and throwing it up now and again. So very helpful when a thread is moving as quickly as this one has. You rock!

Such a precious baby....

She's such a little cuddle, she needs to be home

Most interesting thing that was said in the update from from Fox (I am paraphrasing)

Reporter: Family member of parent says something hopeful happened today, the parents said something about having a name suggested to them that refreshed their memory and they wanted to communicate that to the police immediately.

officer: can't confirm, don't know anything about that. But I can tell you that is probably true. As time goes by they are jogging their brains for any information they haven't told us about. We will check out any lead we get.

This sounds like a a positive thing.

Could you come up with 9 names? I can come up with about 3. But nine names just seems a bit much.

I could. At one point my family feared I would end up like Karen Silkwood. Ever sue anyone and won? End a business or personal relationship on a bad note? etc etc. I don't think any of them would get revenge, but I also know they wouldn't cry if I didn't wake up tomorrow. If my kid turned up missing I would name them asap.

ETA: in living life it's not hard to cross people and piss them off these days.

Yes...electricians often work with general contractors. Someone posted about a van that was seen parked in front of the house in one of the news videos and it was assumed to be the fathers work vehicle. I looked up the name on the van and they provide several different services....residential, commercial, alarm systems, etc.

Many times they will spend 2 weeks on one "job" (maybe a school, for example) and then move on to the next "job" (maybe a hospital). I think it was just his first night on a new location. Surely if it was his first night on a brand new job he wouldn't have a company vehicle.

I find it more than coincidental that the abduction happened on the first night the father would be gone for his new job. That indicates someone who would know the dad would not be there.

I also find it odd that anyone carrying a baby and trying to get out of a house quickly would take the time to unplug phones from chargers (if they were on the counter being charged) or even to bother with them. It seems the perp would have had to take the phones first, prior to getting the baby, since it would take two arms to hold a baby of that size, particularly if you were trying to keep her asleep...and then have pockets or purse to stash them in. How would they know that these were the only phones the family had and didn't have a landline unless they are very familiar? (if the theory about preventing a 911 call is correct). It also seems strange that this person would turn on lights while committing this act.

The phones in themselves would not have enough value to bother with as far as robbery motive, IMO. I wonder if there was a phone call with someone earlier that night that would cause the intruder to want to take the phones, not realizing their call could still be traced.

Guessing the not having a landline either was just "dumb luck" on behalf of whoever did it, or else it means a known person to the family.

I still think, from my interpretation of the comment, though, that dad's comment didn't mean that the person took the phones to prevent them from calling 911, but rather as his explanation for why they were unable to (that they didn't have a landline and their cells were all taken, thus they didn't). But that's just how it's striking me.

For those of you with no landline in your home.....do you leave your cell in another room at night or do you take it into the bedroom with you?

the mother comes off as very believable to me when listening to her. have the parents been given lie detector tests?

Our cell phones are kept by our bed at night (on the charger).

Under my pillow at all times.

Thank you!!! I hope I'm not doing it too much, I just try to when I see some new faces that might want to read it.
