I think you all misunderstood this. By definition, my mom's sister is my aunt. Savannah was adopted. The aunt referenced is not related to RR, she is the sister of Savannah's adopted mother and by that definition, she is Savannah's Aunt.

But this doesn't really seem relevant since we are not supposed to be sleuthing Savannah's adoptive family. They are considered victims under the TOS here. Let's focus on the TWO NAMED SUSPECTS who were living on the same farm as Savannah when she "disappeared". What do these people do for a living-- were they surviving off making soap? How did they purchase a 90 acre property for their farm? Do they have any past criminal records? Are there other children living on that farm? Why was Savannah forced to live in a separate travel trailer?

Seems I recall mom worked as a trucking company dispatcher ... not sure if it was a current job, though.

What I meant was, why were they investigating the areas where fires were burning at the time they were burning? Surely it occurred to someone that she could be burning evidence??

Early on, the sheriff spoke as if he believed she ran away. There was an abandoned car not far from the property that turned out to be stolen. LE thought maybe someone had picked Savannah up in a car OR that she was camping out in the woods someplace. They said she took a large number of items with her-- so many that she could not have carried them all on foot very far. I'm really curious now what items were supposedly missing with Savannah. The search warrants revealed that her toothbrush and other hygiene items were still in her trailer and so were her clothes.

On Tuesday, Ruud said she and her family were doing a brush fire on their farm when the fire got “out of hand” and Ruud was burned.

“I got massive second-degree burns from my wrist to my shoulder,” Ruud said. “She freaked out and I think that’s why she ran. She feels guilty.”

Ok, if this were true that controlled brush fires were the source of the burns (We know it's not true but as of July 21st we didn't),

HOW does it make any sense that Savannah would feel guilty for RR getting burned?
Is she implying that Savannah was the reason the control-fires got out of hand? This is classic blame-the-victim speech and a really bad lie too. :gaah:

In my opinion, psycho mommy dearest is holding a cigarette in her hand. As a smoker I definitely do not want any pics of me smoking so if someone was taking my pic that's how I would hold my cigarette to kinda hide it!

Obviously this lady is NUTS!! She got Savannah about a year ago! Lady moves fast! Had a different boyfriend last summer,my opinion,and now married another guy! I'd like to know how someone like Mr. Buddy could be a witness to that kind of ABUSE! And not REPORT it!!! Tells me what kind of people this lady dated! I am so disgusted! And sad for this girl! Only comfort is that she is at peace for once in her life and that lady cannot torture her anymore!

The Ozark County (Missouri) Sheriff's Department said the biological mother of a missing Minnesota 16-year-old was uncooperative when authorities sought to search the farm on which she and Savannah Leckie were residing.

According to the release from Ozark County Sheriff Darrin Reed, Ruud "started becoming agitated at me and my staff for wanting to keep searching the 81-acre farm for Savannah."

That led to authorities obtaining a search warrant on Aug. 4.

"The gate was locked and a courtesy call was made to Mrs. Ruud who then met us at the gate," Reed said in the release. "We asked permission to search the grounds again and (were) refused access. At this time, we executed our search warrant."

A search using cadaver dogs led authorities to the brush pile where the remains were discovered.

Sadly, many in the off grid community feel that corporal punishment is perfectly acceptable. It is a very strongly conservative mentality in the main, that feels the current views of child rearing are soft and in large part contribute to the country's decline. Very old school religion, right wing conservative values taken to the extreme with a healthy dose of prepper paranoia.

Missouri is a big local for this due to being a red state itself with lax building codes and overly generous gun laws. You aren't going to find a lot of folks reporting things like that, unfortunately
