I feel like the insurance company tracking device being disconnected at the gas station is the biggest clue. She had to have done that on purpose. For some reason, she didn't want it known where she was going.

Maybe she really did tell people she was going to the Shady Lady and *she* was the one doing the misdirecting.

And why be "adamant" about going to the gas station? That's a weird way to phrase it. Even if she was low on gas she'd just say "First thing I've gotta do is get gas, my gas light came on 30 miles ago", not "I'm going to the gas station and you can't stop me! I will absolutely be at a gas station!"

I think she went away on purpose. But, she may be staying

I've been out for a while and just caught up. I read several posts suggesting it's weird that Toni was "adamant" about going to a gas station or a specific gas station.

However, I think it depends on the conversation.

Let's say a manager says to Toni, "Ice is in the forecast, you're going right home, right?"

And Toni responds, "No, I have to get gas."

The manager pushes her, "Can't you get it tomorrow?"

"No, my tank is low...I'm just going to go quick down to [location] and then get home/wherever I'm going."

Earlier in one of the previous threads, some KC locals said that many gas stations in the area wouldn't be considered safe, but QTs were usually well lit and busy...making them safer. So I could also see the manager being concerned about her safety and trying to ask/suggest where she might get gas quickly/safely.

In high school and immediately after graduating, I worked in a restaurant (a legitimate restaurant; didn't even serve alcohol) that was open 24 hours a day. I am a petite female and when I left alone, to drive out into the night for any reason, coworkers, customers, and for sure managers regularly advised me to "be safe" etc.

One of the J's has a fake profile that says they work at QT. Probably doesn't mean anything, but is a weird coincidence to me.

It would be helpful to know if one of the J's previously worked at a QT. This would open up the possibility that Toni knew some of the workers at area QTs.

I do agree that it is weird. I have been pulled over 4-5 times in NKC and it took around 5-10 minutes each time. However, NKC cops never seemed very sketchy to me. None of them gave me a hard time. Perhaps it was due to my good looks and professionalism. I can't be for certain, however.

I have been pulled over several times by police who gave me a warning for speeding etc. A couple times, they ran my license and *then* gave me a warning (which took several minutes). But once when I was driving near my college campus in college, an officer pulled me over in the rain late at night. And it didn't seem to be for a discernible reason. Almost seemed to be out of a desire to double check to see if I was safe and/or up to anything suspicious. In that case, and a couple of other times, police officers just saw I was sober, a female, polite etc. and let me drive off within a minute or two tops...

So I can see either way being possible.

Looking forward to hearing what the iCloud information is found. Hoping this sheds some light on the case. There has been very little factual solid information in this case.

On this topic of iCloud data. I think it'd be worthwhile for apple to have a service option that allowed you to store your primary keycode in case of an emergency such as this. There would be a secondary keycode that a family member or someone you trust would have that would be used to unencrypt the primary keycode. But that secondary keycode could only be used in the event of a missing persons case or death. That way apple could maintain their strong encryption. Since it'd be an opt-in service, it doesn't prevent those that want complete security from getting that if they wanted it.

I think alot of people would agree to that, since the only way their keycode could be obtained was through someone they trust and in the event of a missing persons/death situation.

I believe someone who might be in imminent danger or victim of a murder would be wishing their phone was able to be accessed as quickly as possible in such an event. What it also does is give law enforcement a way to get a keycode for an investigation, but only at the discretion of someone the person trusts. So therefore it couldn't be done without being transparent about the request to someone that the person trusts. Also keeps apple out of the loop in terms of having to break encryption.

One reason I could see for police staying quiet about the iCloud data is it's possible that someone has logged in or out of certain apps or devices connected to Toni...and they don't know if it's Toni or not.

My friend's house was broken into a month ago, and currently the only lead they have is that someone has been adding books to her Kindle which they stole...and has turned on the video game system which was taken. Just a thought.

I'm trying to think of some famous no body guilty verdicts. Charli Scott in Hawaii comes to mind. They only found her jaw bone but that's still some part of the body.

There is currently a case in MI where Jeff Willis is being tried for the murder of Jessica Heerenga, whose body hasn't been found...if you want to look it up.

Toni Anderson passed two entrances to the QT. Her story about needing gas told to cops was a lie. I think it's possible she pretended to get gas because there is no evidence she paid for it.

A PI would have certainly by now found out who the cashier was that morning and her family would know the truth around the atm and gas. If she didn't use the atm at 2525 it likely means the stop was later or somehow they are fibbing on the times.

Well, it would have had to have been before it lost connection to the network on evening of the 15th. But yes, depending on what her iCloud settings were, they might be able to get alot of information about what specifically was done with the phone.

Contact information, text messages, and call data are obviously the most obvious. If she used other apps for communication, data could exist, but iCloud settings are important to that.

So communication data could produce some quality leads, as I think it's likely she communicated with whoever she was going to meet. To this point police would have only known about generic phone call information and not text messages etc. Not sure if she used her iPhone for navigation, but that also could yield some clues if those apps have iCloud data.

Right. Even if someone is logging in as Toni on apps or social media accounts on **other devices** (like someone else's computer), the police may have digital data which is causing them to watch/track the user. If so, this might lead them to withhold info or purposefully release half-truths in the media.

It kind of reminds me of the oldest trick in the book :

"which way did he go??"

"that way!" -->pointing in the wrong direction

You can just keep going that way if you like, but it's the wrong way. simple as that.

She went to Buchannan and turned north. A map would show what roads she could've used to get back on 9.

Watch the end of the video and notice that the first time she exits there's a car at a gas pump but the last time it's more blurred but the car is not there.

I still do not think she left on her own. It's been too long.
I don't think someone plans to run away during an ice storm. And I don't think it makes sense to go pop in at work right before you plan to disappear.
I think Pete Jr. would notice clothing, money, and in her case expensive make-up gone.

With having said that let's say she planned on meeting a john or was offered a great money making job through a shady person (manager, co worker, patron) at work that took her out of town and ran into trouble, sex trafficking even.

I hesitate on that as well because NO girl her age is going anywhere without her make-up. She was a make-up girl. No way, no how is she leaving without her contour kit. She would have taken it with her and it would be missing from her bathroom.

I dont think she was going anywhere.

I think whoever she was planning on meeting up with, either known or not known, wouldn't take no for an answer and that's the person to look at.

Boyfriend is not off my radar.
Manager is not off my radar.
Last text message person is not off my radar.

I agree that she got into a situation where she was over her head.

I also lean toward a dancing/escort type of customer deciding to cross lines...

I still consider the possibility her car will be found as part of a hidden accident scene some day. Not that long ago, they found two missing teen girls in a car at the bottom of a pond/lake after more than a decade. The world is big...they haven't and can't search every inch of it.

I've seen nothing to even suggest that Toni and Pete are pulling off some kind of hoax. Papini and her best buy husband provided plenty of evidence they were involved in a hoax. There was another blond who did the same thing. There needs to be something to suggest this. There is nothing.

There seems even less reason to her just leaving her life without telling anyone.

I wasn't referring to an actual direction, but rather to the statements that friends/coworkers were giving that were imo misleading. For some reason there was almost a week that went by before these civilian searches focused on she was last seen and to the NW. Those search locations seemed to be based on where she had supposedly told someone she was going to be, instead of where she was factually last seen.

crazy imo.

re: iCloud data

The iPhone, I believe, automatically backs up a maximum of once per day, when it is plugged in, has wifi, and is not in use.
So they would get a lot of data, but not necessarily completely up to date data. They could get background info, but not
necessarily exactly what she was up to that morning.

Yep, I'm not too hopeful about data about that morning, I am more thinking contact information, text messages, call activity *previous* to that day can give hints as to if/what might have been going on in her life that might be connected to this event. If she planned to take off, I'd expect very little to learn. But, if this was not planned, then who she was communicating with leading up to that day etc, could potentially be a quality lead. Or it might lead you to someone who might potentially have some other insight about her life.

Could someone guide me to the Vt were the boyfriend says he "was asleep"

Thanks
