I was wondering how much effort had already been expended in Websleuths to try and solve this murder. I was amazed to learn the following:

Ladies and gentlemen, that is a lot of unsolicited input for LE in my opinion. No wonder they don't read any of it, or at least SAY they don't read it. It works out to about a thousand theories or subplots a month. Do you think we are helping any? Has anyone been arrested yet? For that matter, are there even any officially recognized Persons of Interest (POI) in this case?

I got to say it has been very interesting for me personally. But in the long run, has it been very productive? What if the answer truly is response #9,452 out of 11,803? What good does that do anybody? It's like pointing to yon haystack and saying, I know the needle's in there. You just need to drop your drawers and do some due diligence with your rosy cheeks...

Hopefully with the upcoming November 3rd election, things will get stirred up once again. Nothing like some newspaper headlines and editorials to make an incumbent "seem" to be making things happen.

Well that's a downer and looking at the glass half full, Rb17. I don't think it's our job to solve this case but I do bet when the facts are made public, we may be able to look back at all the gobs of information that has been collected here. This particular state is very guarded with releasing any information to the public. We don't even have an autopsy in her case. So little to go on factually but I have enjoyed all the contributions by yourself and others. It's been seemingly a long time since JC death to not even have a hint at a POI. It's no wonder her mother is pushing for answers- I really believe her agenda was not to be "cleared" but to get the people who did this to her daughter "in the clear."
Don't lose faith!

My apologies if this subject has already been covered here.

Duping Delight is a term used to describe the pattern of inappropriate expressions made by someone who is lying and is momentarily overcome with the secret delight that they are so very clever that the person to whom they are lying (the dupe) doesn’t have any clue. It can include what are often futile efforts at hiding or disguising such delight. Usually, the topic being discussed provides absolutely no reason for eliciting smiles or laughter from the person who is lying.

--------------------------

Here is a good example of Duping Delight caught on film:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hKLVOzCzcM&feature=player_detailpage"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hKLVOzCzcM&feature=player_detailpage

The doctor being interviewed on CNN is the sister of a student that was slain here in NC. Here are further details if you are unfamiliar with the case:

And now, I must ask you, the international Websleuths community, for your honest opinion. Are MDE’s expressions during his short interview at the end of this December 16, 2014, Clarion-Ledger video the very same Duping Delight behavior described and illustrated above:

In the Anderson Cooper clip, are you saying the woman being interviewed is lying? Or that she's a crisis actor? If she's an actor then she isn't lying. MDE is not an actor. I don't really understand the comparison you're looking for.

I think they're both trying to be very serious while responding to questions about some very serious matters, but at some point they both seem to break down and lose their sad composures. I am sure the woman in the CNN clip is genuinely aggrieved by the murder of her brother. But I think she is also trying very hard not to laugh in the interviewer's face when he asks if she thinks her brother's religion had anything to do with it, sort of a "Well Duh" kind of response. MDE's smirk similarly occurs when he is caught off guard by the reporter's questioning, that since everybody knows everybody in such a small town, and since you knew Jessica, you probably know her murderer, too. If he really was the murderer, that would come across as a sort of a "Well Duh" question, too.

That was the comparison I was trying to draw.

I see what you mean. That doesn't sound like Duping Delight the way you described it though. Here both interviewees might have an inappropriate response to something serious, but not because they are lying. But I do see a look of "I can't believe you asked me that" on MDE's face. For a second he looked at the reporter like he thought it was a trick.

Mea culpa, bluesneakers. Maybe I should have looked harder for a better example of Duping Delight. The lady being interviewed on CNN was probably not lying, just "acting" inappropriately, perhaps under all the strain from recent events as well as the pressure of being on nationwide TV.

I agree with you about that "look" (and head shake) MDE flashed. He was really caught off guard.

I guess in neither case were there any feelings of superiority about fooling somebody, but perhaps thinking to themselves something that was not being openly expressed.

Hearing that RH passed away....

Classito

I had heard he was in a hospital with cancer, and only two weeks left to live (had spread to liver). Must've been more aggressive than they thought. Hope he got some things off his chest before going on to his reward.

Neither one of them would make a good poker player.

Classito, are you saying that it is rumored that the keys were found in a ditch at 124 Main St.?

Yes..Rumored on internet (twitter, FB, and blogs)...I have searched all major media reports and could not find any mention of keys being found...

I think this news video of GM & DT at the .54 second mark shows DT as a more relevant example of your deceiving theory. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nVjpiwgs6fc

Good one, NineMilly. She does seem to find her male companion's response to the reporter very amusing. Murder investigations and police interrogations can get to be quite funny. Watch the corners of her mouth. They seem to be on the threshold of a smile throughout the interview, just waiting for a safe opportunity to break into a full blown grin, IMO.

Good grief, he's having quite the good time, now isn't he? Another good example, Classito, except it's difficult to tell when he's -not- light heartedly bantering with his many doubters, sort of locked-on DD. At any minute, I thought he was going to whip out some of those long balloons and start making Larry King a hat and sword.

Who knows if this is in any way related to Jessica's case, but this just goes to show that the corruption in the Mississippi CJ bleeds on. From today's CL:

“Inmates allegedly were allowed to change uniforms disguising their custody status, work on personal vehicles and go across state lines.”

Just, wow.

Can anyone share the front page article in the Panolian from October 30th about the debate for Sheriff of Panola County?

Can anyone share the front page article in the Panolian from October 30th about the debate for Sheriff of Panola County?

Saturday I spent a small amount of time using several Boolean Search strings attempting to tease out info on the debate. Unfortunately I ran out of time. Today I have a doctor's appt so I cannot do further research.

Here is what I was able to extract,no sequence,no context as to who is speaking other than what I was able to pull off the web.

This is the best I have,'but,at least it is something'. Everthing is from Fri Oct 30th Panolian. If someone has a subscription perhaps they could fill in the Who,What,Where:
