Does anyone still have a subscription to the Panolian? If so, could you check it out today for some well known names here? I can't read it without a 'scrip. Check recent marriage applications and I think that arrests are reported today. Thanks. JMO

Things are done in a more casual way in a small town and if people saw him trying to act like something he isn't by dressing up, they wouldn't trust him and they are the ones who elected him. ;)
Or they'd simply wonder whose funeral he'd just attended.

Maybe things are simply just done differently in a town that small. idk

Yeah, I guess so, but I live in a town of about 2500, and it just blows me away after reading about THAT town and some of its history. Lots of people seem to die young and "accidentally" and it seems like even the older people die way before their time. The Wells funeral home seems to be everyones home away from home! Maybe i'm just jaded from this sordid story, and the town is more normal than I'm giving it credit for. It just seems so "fishy" to me. LOL JMO

I don't think you're jaded, lol.
Reading about this town's history is definitely enlightening.imo

I'll give it a try... waaaa can't read it without a subscription.
According to today's front page ....arrest records are available.

I must admit that DA Champion's attire never even caused me to blink. Especially not after knowing that a TV crew obtained the video footage of JC at the gas station before LE, seeing the gas station attendant explain that he knew accelerant was poured down JC's throat soon after the crime because "two sheriffs" told him, and hearing that the tow truck driver stopped for cigarettes towing THE BIGGEST PIECE OF EVIDENCE (and allowed photos to be taken.) nothing surprises me now :/

I'm going to throw in here too, that I'm about as far from anti-LE as you can get. I used to work hand in hand with LE and the DA's office on a daily basis for years and my brother-in-law is a city cop. But I will argue to the death with anyone who thinks those aren't some serious errors. You simply cannot clear a crime scene as quickly as they did OR allow that vehicle to be compromised in any way. Some defense attorney in the future is going to bring up the way that car was handled. Bet on it!

What IS that building north? And is it attached to the convenience store as the Birdseye view seems to show?

Yes it is attached, I have looked around it a few times in the past. From the front view it looks like it is for storage as you can see boxes etc. But just guessing, it could be anything going on in there.
From the back view it all looks kind of seedy and not much in the way of windows, but then noticed the middle section next to the store there looks to be satellite dishes on the roof. Thought someone might be staying there, but it looks a bit of a dump.

Moo

Yep. Whole contraption looks shady. Lots of area added on in back. Two big propane tanks back there. I will have to go back and look for the satelite dishes. :what:

OKAY! Also several air conditioners and yes, satelite dish.

PLUS! At least one garage type door and an area where it appears people had been parking when this picture was taken. I'm sure the locals know something.

Anybody know who got married? I'm remembering spouses can't testify against each other.

This song, sung by these beautiful angels, brings Jessica to my mind. (This is a female A capella group called "Timothy's gift". Fittingly, " The message of Timothy’s Gift is that no one is forgotten, that every human being has great WORTH." (Although they go to maximum security prisons to try bring redemption to prisoners, I think their message is equally applicable to victims regarding worth).

Any evidence taken from the car would probably be inadmissible since the tow truck driver allegedly stopped at the M&M and Ali had access to the car, snapping several pictures of it as well. The car has extensive rear end and right rear damage. My thinking is that the damage occurred if she was rear ended on the road or from the car being pushed up the hill by another vehicle where it burned. It is impossible to effectively clear a crime scene in less than an hour unless your are totally inept and do not know what you are doing. Many small jurisdictions do not have these types of crimes often enough to keep officers at their sharpest so much evidence could be overlooked.

Even the gouges in the ground should show tire track from a second vehicle if one were used. Footprints (any that had not been destroyed by the firefighters would be valuable evidence as well. One picture shows a bottle laying on the ground, another shows a wiper blade.
