I'm really pissed no MSM is carrying this live!
I just flipped Fox, CNN, MSNBC nothing!

they are taking questions but the sound is going in and out.....

it sounds like they aren't answering any questions anyway......

this setup was terrible...

drug charges says the mayor in reference to what was on their records........i know i read in a story that both had felony charges but i do believe it was also for weapons charges as well (imo)

(these sound techs blew this presser)

mayor: we need to celebrate the lives of these officers.....

officer deen was the officer who made the initial traffic stop........

sound gone again........

:waiting:

really?

eta......i think i have an old megaphone in the attic from my cheerleading days.....think they might want to borrow that?

good grief get it together people

LOL...it is MS. Many companies still don't have voice mail.

On the upside they do know how to handle situations such as this.

now going thru names of everyone at the podium and spelling......good grief what a terrible presser, sound is still terrible.......

i'd say that's about it..........

mayor closes.......pray for the families........

Hattiesburg Mayor holds press conference in regards to two HPD officers killed in line of duty. #WDAM

i was supposed to go to a late breakfast with two of my baby bees and i'm just squalling

i'm going to step away for a bit.......love you WS family.......

:heartbeat:

Guys, keep in mind Hattiesburg is a pretty small town. It may not have reached mainstream yet. I'd venture a guess it hasn't.

Me too, my daughter is going to be here any minute to take me to lunch and I still haven't gotten dressed. It's just, this was the first thing I thought of today and the last thing last night.

Joanie Calloway, charged with 2 counts of capital murder in connection to shooting death of 2 HPD officers. #WDAM
She might as well lose that attitude cause Her butt is cooked now!

It has. All of them had articles last night. Some of them were pitiful in scope and content, even tho they could have cribbed the info from other sources. They obviously did not want to. IMO

May God bless and keep these two officers as well as their family and friends.

Officer Tate: :rose:

Officer Deen: :rose:

The Mother's on this day: :rose:

The entire Hattiesburg Police Department: :rose:

I thank them for their service and a job well done. May they rest in Heavenly Peace.

:tears: :praying:

The murderers are also in custody now.

I'm not sure what we want here? Riots? Those are bad.

Maybe a little public outrage that two wonderful human beings were shot in cold blood by two long time criminals. But I won't hold my breath.

Hattiesburg is a university town and is the largest town between Jackson and Gulfport/Biloxi. It is pretty spread out, IIRC. There is a lot going on there and I wouldn't exactly call it a small town. The population count does not include the university student numbers.

Absolutely, Katydid23! Public outrage as well as recognition for the ultimate sacrifice Officer Tate and Officer Deen gave for us.

I think it just further demonstrates that we don't understand why the public outrage and riots happen when it's the other way around. *shrug*

Anyway, it's obvious members here are heartbroken and devastated, so if there is a problem with lack of outrage, the best places to be outraged would probably be in the media link comment sections or something. We're all on the same page here :)

Heavy Sarcasm....ON

Rest assured, "the DOJ has been notified" per press conf moments ago
