Hot Pockets heiress Michelle Janavs headed to prison for college bribery scandal

[Judge] Gorton denied Janavs's request to serve her sentence at home on Thursday, along with a similar request from Silicon Valley mother Elizabeth Henriquez, who is facing a seven-month sentence.

"Although the current public health crisis is not ended, it has abated and will likely to continue to abate over the next few months," Gorton said in denying Janavs's request. "If defendant Janavs prefers to postpone her report [to prison] date until August 31, 2020, the court will so order but it will not convert the sentence imposed to home confinement."

Two additional parents plead guilty in Georgetown admissions scandal

Peter Dameris and Robert Repella were the 54th and 55th individuals to be charged by federal prosecutors as part of the nationwide college admissions. Dameris pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud on May 22, and Repella pleaded guilty to the same charges on May 26.

Dameris funneled $300,000 into a charity run by Rick Singer, who allegedly used a portion of that money to pay off former Georgetown tennis coach Gordon Ernst to falsely designate Dameris’s son as a tennis recruit.

Robert Repella did not use Singer’s services and is accused of directly orchestrating the bribe. Federal prosecutors allege that Repella paid Ernst $50,000 to recruit his daughter to the university’s tennis team.

For Dameris, the government is recommending a sentence of time served, 21 months of home confinement, and a fine of $95,000.

Meanwhile, prosecutors are seeking a 10-month prison sentence for Repella as well as a year of probation and a $40,000 fine.

Thankx for this Blondie....;)

Lori Loughlin, Mossimo Giannulli pushed out of Bel-Air Country Club

(Self righteousness on display)

The decision did not sit well with some of the members. Past President Michael Gallagher fired off a scathing letter to the board, obtained by TMZ, in which he says ... "This unprecedented board decision to allow felons to continue as members causes irreparable reputational harm to the Club and its members."

Maybe Ms. Entitled will learn that actions have consequences ( or maybe she won't learn- probably not)---

She just wants to salvage her reputation but the problem is she took too long to do so. There are no official statements from her or her "handlers" to take any responsibility.

.....Yah, it will all just miraculously go away.....ZZZ........

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have sold their house.

As their looming sentencing date fast approaches, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are cutting ties to their current neighborhood in L.A.’s posh Bel Air area. In addition to resigning from the exclusive Bel-Air Country Club, the couple’s nearby mansion is also in escrow to be sold, sources say. The buyer is Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen, a Los Angeles native who already owns a substantial luxury real estate portfolio.

The heavily discounted deal has not yet recorded, but the sources say the sale price “significantly” undercuts the property’s most recent $28.7 million pricetag, and it’s further still below the couple’s original, and profoundly unrealistic, $35 million wishlist ask from more than three years ago. According to one tipster, the agreed-upon amount is a mere $18 million.

(taking a big loss, paid $14Min 2015 , did extensive renovations, ...taxes, realtor fees etc)

I wonder where they're going (other than jail)

'Varsity Blues' college admissions defendant invokes Warren Moon, Bill Buckner, the Queen in plea for leniency

A defendant in the “Varsity Blues” college admissions scandal is throwing a Hail Mary as he pleads for a light sentence, submitting a letter from Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon and invoking a range of people from Bill Buckner to the Queen of England.

David Sidoo, a Canadian businessman and former football player, is pleading guilty to federal charges.

Federal sentencing guidelines would normally instruct the Boston judge considering Sidoo’s fate to send the 61-year-old to jail for six to 12 months, Sidoo’s attorneys acknowledged in a Friday filing. But Sidoo, who pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, is instead seeking to spend only 90 days in jail, followed by a year’s supervised release and a $250,000 fine.

Vancouver businessman David Sidoo sentenced to 3 months in prison in college admissions scandal

The former UBC and CFL football player was found to have paid $200,000 US to have a professional test-writer use false credentials to impersonate his two sons to write their SATs.

The same person also flew to Vancouver to write a B.C. high school graduation exam for one of the sons.

Sidoo also worked with the scheme's mastermind, Rick Singer, to concoct a bogus story for one of his son's college admission essays about the teen being held at gunpoint by a Los Angeles gang before being saved by a rival gang member named "Nugget."

He had originally pleaded not guilty to multiple charges.

Last month, Sidoo's Order of B.C. was revoked. In March, his name was removed from the field at Thunderbird Stadium on the University of British Columbia campus.

He appeared in court via video link because of the coronavirus pandemic.
