They seem to have smashed everything but themselves no injuries not one. Cannot wait to hear the defence. If they are going down the road of DV, lamps, erectile dysfunction, financial abuse, overweight husbands it just won't cut it for me I'm afraid.

Alone the last few days evidence is HUGE. The physical evidence is to come, so far mm not looking like she will take the stand and tm coming across as a short tempered cold character. This week just hasnt helped the self defence at all.

Just my fiction not facts.

IMO I think Tom is the fixer as is ME . Things happen they fix

Food for thought, clothes a big issue for me and it may well be brought up again in the civil case imo

My too...don't get me wrong, I'm not absolving Molly for her part, but I just thought all of the arguments some of the MM supporters are using against Jason could equally apply to TM...'upstanding citizen' 'family man' 'you never know what goes on behind closed doors' ...if Molly was part of the cover up rather than the rage attack it may explain some of her odd behaviours after the fact.

Keep in mind that after the Defense presents its case, the Prosecution returns for rebuttal.

So the theory that's being pressed here once again is that there is an element of sexual aggression that triggered events that night....while I respect your right to have differing views, you have consistently raised the theory that Jason took the Trazadone for erectile dysfunction. I find it highly unusual that if Molly no longer wanted to have sex with Jason, and he was no longer capable of doing so under his own steam, that SHE would be the one to fill a prescription to aid him in that department. Perhaps a look at the actual evidence we have had provided over the last few days would be beneficial.
Nope. I raised the possibility of that. And you know why? Because when I was prescribed trazodone my doctor told me NOT to share it with my husband or my son because it can cause priapism or an extremely uncomfortable, long lasting erection that can cause permanent damage to the penis. It's a warning. The same one as for sudanifil. I know I explained that previously. I think I even posted the info that comes with the RX. There is no shame in ED. I think men like the drugs because it enhances their size, not necessarily because they can't perform. IMO

I asked the question about what started the fight because let's think about it. It's important to understanding what happened. So what if they had sex? They were married. He was naked. He was wearing his wedding band. I have not heard anything convincing to say the marriage was over, just that changes were happening in their lives, so it's a possibility that consensual sex preceded the fight regardless of the drugs. I mean not a single person has said that they were arguing that day or that there was friction; yet, something happened between them that triggered this horrible mess. IMO

G'nite.. sleep well, it is an absolutely exhausting process, trying to catch accuracy through a tornado blowing a million pieces of paper, like confetti, blinding, exhausting

With all due respect, it doesn't matter who or what started the fight, if there was one. It doesn't matter what triggered this. It doesn't matter what the state of their marriage was. The only thing that matters are that a son, father, brother, husband has been horrificly slaughtered, his skull repeatedly beaten in. The only questions that need to be answered are...did Tom Martens and his daughter Molly, who have confessed, ...have a right to do this killing and...why didn't they stop?

I wonder have we been looking at this all wrong...what do we know about TM? Why can't we find more information on him?

I've been trying to figure out why SM would sit in the basement and simply wait there. She must have heard the sirens and known it was safe to emerge, even if she had gone out the basement door and around the perimeter of the building. How controlling is Tom?

What if Jason told Molly he was leaving and she in turn phoned her parents upset. What if TM didn't simply 'awake' and decide to visit, what if he decided he could talk Jason around. He is the patriarch of the family, he controls what happens, Jason will listen to him.

The police officer noted how 'agitated' TM became when he didn't comply with a simple request to close the window. What if Jason refused to back down this time? What if he said enough was enough and nothing could change his mind. How 'agitated' would TM become? If there was no argument with Molly, Jason wouldn't have expected an ambush from Tom. He could have retired to bed and then been set upon.

TM was dressed when he attacked Jason IMO, I think he removed his jumper and trousers after the fact. I think we may have been letting him off too lightly with his knight in shining armour tag. All MOO.

See above for an alternative theory...this one could even appeal a little more, Molly caught between her father and her husband. Its as plausible as anything else that has come up based on no facts and supposition. But it is irrelevant, it is probably wiser for us all to focus on the facts as they emerge, so far we have overkill which has shocked seasoned crime reporters, paramedics, detectives, attorneys and a pathologist. That speaks volumes IMO.

The answers to All of the stuff that you say doesn't matter, might just answer the questions you ask. IMO

The Defense will argue that TM was trying to STOP Jason from "killing" his daughter. But his daughter appears to have no discernible injuries to the first responders. TM has no injuries.

So the question becomes was this a STOP action or a rage killing?Did it take every blow we have heard of this week, in the bedroom, on either side of the bathroom door, up against two places cratering the bathroom wall, down the hall..high, low, pools of blood congealing in the floor...and layered multiple fractures any of which would have caused unconsciousness...was ALL this needed to save Molly from the redness on her neck?

Sorry, i'm struggling here, we have JC who has been brutally beaten we have blood splatter 5 ft high on walls. We have pools of blood in the property and we have testimony that there are some blood spots on TM's shirt, hands, watch and blood on MM's face and hair.

Should their clothes not have been saturated, both from the attack and from when they were 'attempting' CPR? Where is the blood on them?

All IMO

Was thinking the same thing Emma. Her pjs should have been heavily stained, alone from the CPR. TM should have had more than "spots" on his shirt. Does anyone else notice the frequent references to what TM was wearing? Descriptions include polo shirt and boxers, short sleeved shirt and shorts, red shirt and shorts etc. I am wondering whether the issue of a change of clothes will come up. There is very little reference to what she was wearing other than one reference to PJs.

Surely to God the jury will include the bat swings that dented the wall in the no of blows that were aimed at Jason. These dents demonstrate clear overkill and between them they just kept swinging their weapons. I know we have to hear the defence case yet, but I swear if these two aren't convicted by the jury I will have lost all faith in human intelligence.

And a physically sick juror - it meant more to me today than yesterday. That sick juror was like a gift box with a bow on it, and my feeling is that the prosecution's case is already won with that event.

Can you imagine Jason's autopsy pictures and crime scene photos being explained as a proper response to DV that consists of a threat and a chokehold...even if that were the truth?

"You are allowed by law to do ALL this"... is that what we have come to?

The District Attorney also said that while Mr Corbett was discovered in the bedroom naked and blood-spattered with a crushed skull there wasn't a mark on either his wife or his father-in-law when police and paramedics arrived."Thomas Martens - (had) no injuries, no bruises, no swelling, no cuts and no blood appeared to come from him," he said.
"Molly Martens Corbett - (had) no bruises, no swelling, no cuts and no blood appeared to come from her."At least one blow was sustained when Mr Corbett was already dead.
Multiple blows had been sustained to two specific areas of the back of his head.
"His skull was badly crushed," he said.

He also pointed to a superficial wound near the left side of the head that had little bleeding, indicating that it was a post-mortem injury.

Nelson also said the two wounds indicative of multiple blows had skull fractures underneath. Any blow to the head that results in skull fracture would result in a loss of consciousness, he said.[

"The degree of skull fractures in this case are kinds we would see in falls from great heights or car crashes," Dr Nelson said.
Mr Corbett also sustained injuries to his torso and extremities as well as a scalp laceration, Dr Nelson said.

Cpl Dagenhardt said he walked into the house, took a left, and went into the master bedroom where he found Mr Corbett’s body on the floor, face up. He saw blood on his face around his eye and on several areas of his body. He also saw blood on several of the walls, including leading to the bedroom’s bathroom.Cpl Dagenhardt testified that he and another officer went to collect Jack and Sarah, who were asleep upstairs. He said he awoke Sarah and led her backwards down the stairs and told her to keep her eyes closed. He ended up carrying her.
In other testimony, the medical examiner talked about the autopsy of Mr Corbett.
Dr Craig Nelson, a medical examiner for the North Carolina office of the chief medical examiner, testified that Mr Corbett had 10 different impact sites on his head that indicated blunt-force trauma. Two of those impact sites showed complex lacerations that indicated he was struck more than once, said Dr Nelson.
At one point, Dr Nelson stood in front of the jury alongside assistant district attorney Alan Martin as they went over 13 autopsy photos.
When Dr Nelson got to one photo that showed the top of Mr Corbett’s head with his scalp peeled off, one of the jurors started gagging, and a bailiff came running with a trash can into which she appeared to vomit. The juror left the courtroom with the bin and was gone for several minutes.

everal witnesses, including law enforcement and a neighbor, testified Thursday they saw no injuries on Molly Martens Corbett the night her husband Jason Corbett was killed in 2015
Amanda Hackworth, a Davidson County paramedic, testified Thursday that as paramedics tried to revive Jason Corbett in an ambulance at the Corbetts’ home, she reached her arm over Jason Corbett’s body, and it felt cool. On Wednesday, paramedic Sgt. Barry Alphin testified that his hand slipped into Jason Corbett’s scalp as he tried to insert a breathing tube.

Hackworth testified that she told Alphin about the cool torso and asked him how long Molly Corbett and Martens waited to call 911. Hackworth testified that Alphin responded by saying Martens and Molly Corbett called 911 as soon as Jason Corbett “went down.” Hackworth later stated that she saw dry blood on Jason Corbett’s chest and near his eye.
Bent later testified that he checked on Molly Corbett, and she told him that she had been choked. Bent said he didn’t notice any injuries, but he did see “light redness” on her neck. According to the paramedic, Molly Corbett’s heart rate was 120. Bent said the normal heart rate for an adult is between 60-100 beats per minute. He also stated that Molly Corbett signed a refusal form, which means she made the decision not to receive treatment.

David Dillard, a former deputy with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, testified that he escorted Molly Corbett to his patrol vehicle. Dillard said he saw no injuries on Molly Corbett, but noted that she had dry blood on her forehead and the side of her face. Dillard said Molly Corbett was making crying noises, but he saw no tears. The officer testified that Molly Corbett was also rubbing her neck
Frank Young, a Davidson County Sheriff’s deputy, testified that he took photos of Molly Corbett at the scene and noticed she kept rubbing her neck. The photos were then shown to the jury.
There was initial consent to take the photograph, and (Molly) Corbett continually tugged on her neck, and I asked her to please stop,” Young said.In the photos, Young didn’t note any injuries, but said Molly Corbett had blood on her forehead and facial area.
Young took several photos of the bedroom and bathroom. He testified there was blood on the walls and hair on the floor of the master bedroom and bathroom. Blood splatter reached as high as five feet, according to Young.

The officer explained in one photo how the paving stone left a visible blood stain in the carpet. Scattered hairs appeared to be on the stone, according to Young. Blood also appeared on a vacuum cleaner.

Young noted three dents on different walls. One dent was approximately five feet high behind the door of the master bedroom and another was near an outlet. The other dent appeared in the bathroom. Below the dent in the bathroom, there was a cracked light switch, according to the officer.
At the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Young took photos of Molly Corbett and Martens, which were shown to the jury. Young said none of the photos indicated injuries. The officer said Martens had blood drops on his shirt, watch, fingers and feet.
One of Molly and Jason Corbett’s neighbors, David Fritzsche, described his and Jason Corbett’s relationship as “friendly.” He testified that he participated in a soccer league with Jason Corbett in the summer of 2015. On the day of Aug. 1, 2015, Fritzsche said, he and Jason Corbett were cutting grass. Afterward, the neighbor testified, he and Jason Corbett sat in chairs and drank seven or eight beers together.
Fritzsche said Molly Corbett’s parents arrived at 8:30 p.m. Jason Corbett went to help with unpacking the car. The neighbor said Jason and Molly Corbett both appeared calm at this time. At 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 2, 2015, Fritzsche went to use the bathroom and could see the crime scene from his window, he said, but he went back to bed.
The neighbor said Molly Corbett was brought to his home around 5:30 a.m. by a law enforcement officer. He testified that Molly Corbett was visibly upset but that he didn’t notice any injuries

I just hope the jury remember this week when we are into week 3 and they've been fed a dose of 'no finer people', Mr. Perfect Father FBI man with perfect record, and his 'little girl' Miss Molly in her purposefully dressed down dowdy dresses and flats, with minimal make up etc.

Stephan...thank you. It's overwhelming, isn't it? Thank you for all your hard work.

Prosecution gets the last word. After the Defense case, the Prosecution is up,again for rebuttal. Then closing arguments by both.

They will have plenty of time to bring the focus back.
