Defense brings up Tom's record with the FBI and impact on this country and community. No priors. Asks to look at this as a whole.

Medical records? Are they looking for a different type of incarceration?
She is already found guilty, Guilty, GUILTY! (I am so happy.) Since it is being offered during sentencing, maybe she is bidding for the state hospital for the criminally insane instead of prison - that's actually funny. I think she is seeking sympathy from the judge, and I think it is too late.

Courtroom is now packed. Marten's defense now going over their requests, say he's no danger to the community. He's 67 years old.

He is the same danger to the community as he was when he took a baseball bat/paving brick and smashed the scull of a naked unarmed drugged man.

Quick help please! Hopelessly behind on page 13. Is it true that both MM and TM are Guilty of 2nd degree murder, and the recommendation is for 20-25 years? Is this true?

EDIT: OMG. I found it in Mallory Lane's tweets. And MM was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff, handcuffed and taken away for the break.

I am deeply, deeply pleased about this verdict.

It doesn’t really matter for TM 10 to 12 yrs will see him dying in prison which is just great. MM present another reservation the state has to be seen to effectively deal with what is a grotesque crime. Looking superficially at past US sentencing I would think 25 to 30yrs. An afterlife an old woman without SM or the E who think so highly of her.

Defense reveals her mother has been diagnosed with cancer. "She may lose her father and mother." Molly weeps

How soon can someone with that length of sentence apply for parole?

"We would ask the court to show her mercy." Molly asked to stand. She says "I did not murder my husband."

"The incident that happened August 2nd happened frequently, only this time my father was there." Molly cries.

There is no parole in North Carolina. A person has to serve the minimum sentence, so it will be at least 20 years.
