i dont think i have ever been this angry about any other case before. her poor father...the egg donor better hope he doesnt get to her...if we are angry and cant even begin to imagine what he is feeling. shaniya didnt even have a chance!

Thank you for this, neighbor. And hugs for you as well. We WS'ers have read way too many horrific details about cases here and when it involves children it still has the capacity to make us sick as well as furious. I still react with shock, anger, and pain that this has happened yet again.

I don't blame him per se, and feel deep empathy but there is a responsibility when you are the guardian parent and have another family member drop your child off with a drug addict egg donor, her felon boyfriend, and the drug dealing owner of the sewage leaking home.

Tragedy does not equate to being free of responsibility.
If this was a mother who dropped her child off in similar circumstances she would be shredded. I think the father is being posted about in a very respectful manner. But being a sympathetic character does not absolve him from his role in this tragedy. moo

I am going to hold onto my stone for awhile, rather than throwing it yet.

Yes. This man has to live every single day of his life from here forward knowing that his decision to trust the egg donor to do the right thing and "be a mother" had the most horrible consequences anyone could ever imagine.

He has to live with that every day.

I wouldn't want to have to take a single step in his shoes, because I know how awful I feel about that poor little girl right now, and he undoubtedly feels infinitely worse.

I will hold off on blessing the searcher that found her until I know whether he went straight to the media, forcing her paternal family to find this news through the AP, rather than through LE.

I would imagine he needed to "process" and did so with those around him. I'm sure that searchers life will also be forever changed and that image will never be erased.

Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance told The Associated Press on Monday that searchers found the body of Shaniya Davis off a road southeast of Sanford in the central part of the state.

Two people have been charged in Shaniya's disappearance, including her 25-year-old mother, Antoinette Davis. Police have charged Davis with human trafficking and felony child abuse, saying Shaniya was offered for prostitution. Davis was due in court Monday afternoon.

I am in favor of castration for perps who commit these cimes against babies. Then throw em in jail for the rest of their lives where other prisoners can give em their due! The death penalty is too easy on them IMO. However, in NC the DP law was just changed to reflect a "life sentence' is based on time of life expectancy or some BS like that. Some felons were recently released because it was determined that the life sentence had been served. I thought 'life sentence' meant that you stay in prison til you die! Ridiculous, IMO!
