GUILTY NC - Teghan Skiba, 4, Smithfield, 19 July 2010 #2

I am new to this case and just started following.. I have not been in the right emotional state to read through Thread 1...

Question - has Teghan's bio dad had any commentary on this case? I read he is in prison for drug dealing, but I am just wondering if there has been any thing from him through out this brutal murder of his child....

In July, 2010, Jerry Skiba (Teghan Skiba's father) was in the Wake County Jail (NC) charged with felony drug trafficking.

To my knowledge, he has not commented about the death of his daughter.

During this trial of Jonathan Richardson, there has been no comment from Jerry Skiba.

I guess she's learned nothing from past experiences, according to her Tegan's Dad was abusive, there's no question what a sadisticly abusive sob her former boyfriend JR is, and now she's given birth to another child and is living with a boyfriend? :facepalm: What a shame Tegan's father wasn't able to get a hold of JR in the jail.

Before Reyes took the stand, the judge briefly put the trial on hold in order to investigate comments made to jurors outside of the courtroom Wednesday.

While jurors were out to lunch, a bystander allegedly walked up to some of them and said "you need to find him guilty," referring to Richardson.
The bystander also yelled to jurors, "He's guilty; I don't care what y'all say," as they got into a car after their break from court.

It was noted that two deputies from another county were escorting the jurors to lunch when the incident happened.

The judge listened to arguments as Richardson's defense team motioned for a mistrial.

The request was denied after the judge questioned the jury about what they heard, and asked if the comment affected them. Jurors said they were able to continue with the trial.

This is a routine motion -- we've all seen it before. It's what the DT is "supposed" to do when comments or actions appear to try to influence a jury. The DT has got to put it on record. Sometimes this type of petition for mistrial is used for grounds for appeal. No biggie, IMO, and not a surprise. And the judge routinely dismisses it.

Just getting here folks -- you let her take the stand before I got here!! But I'm catching up!!!

Sorry, I don't know how to copy tweets over here. Reyes testified 'she knew whipped Teghan for throwing up on his chair.' WHO WHIPS A CHILD FOR THROWING UP? Reyes knew he whipped her child, leaving welts on her body, because she threw up on his chair!
