I would really like to know what was going on in JR's mother & grandmother's mind while they were crying after the verdicts were read.

Was it for Teghan?

My mind will only allow me to hope that is the case.

My guess is that they are crying for JR and his demise. I'm sure this IS hard for any mother or grandmother to swallow. I'm sure their thoughts go back to the little boy they want to remember him as. The little boy who "never would be capable of such horrific behavior". But they saw it happen before their eyes...the unimaginable unfold before them. He did things to this baby girl that even the most evil of minds wouldn't fathom.

I'm sure their hearts hurt. They have to. He has brought so much pain and suffering to everyone his life has come into contact with...and his family won't be spared either.

I'd like to think they've wondered - what should I have done? Why didn't I do something sooner? Could this all have been prevented?

I don't think any mother wants to believe her baby is the root of such evil...but when the wool is removed from your eyes, and you are forced to face the reality of the son you bore, the view from clear eyes has to be unbearable.

Thank you Jury!

and also thanks to all of you keeping the faith thru this entire thing. I was out and just heard the news.

My thoughts are with this jury... this has not been easy to hear. Bless them ALL!

:thumb:

Let him smirk. Only reinforces their liklihood of the penalty to be death.

Little Teghan gets the last word in all of this...whether he likes it or not. She is flying free with angels. He won't be joining her when his life on earth ends.

And that makes ME smirk. :D

Lovin' those words, tck! Yes she does!! Beautifully said.

Maybe the cable isn't working because someone made a cat-o-nine tails out of it. Someone who wants JR to feel right at home. The welcoming committee, perhaps. Welcome Wagon-we heard you're into pain.

And don't forget, even if he does get the DP, he will also be sentenced by the judge for the other crimes, as was Mario McNeill, the convicted murderer of Shaniya Davis. Look what that judge gave him. Notice the other crimes of which he was convicted in addition to M1. Pay special attention to the words, "consecutive" and "concurrent" --

I do wonder if that monster has any idea of what might be in store for him when he does get to Central Prison? He certainly will go there as soon as he is sentenced, either straight to Death Row, or to a central new-prisoner area to be tested, poked & prodded to see in which institution he will be placed. So, he might have a couple of Special Reception Parties. A theme party, like, ummm... Pick on somebody your own size you rotten sack of carp.

And if the does have a clue, I don't want him to have even a teeny-weeny chance of suicide -- he strikes me as a real chicken-$hit. Duh.

I hope the judge allows it.

I feel emotionally depleted today. I'm so thankful for the verdict, but am so sad there even had to be one. On the other hand, so many lives have been spared because this monster will be off the streets. The 'what if' thoughts are horrifying. If it weren't Sweet Teghan, it would have been some other precious child, and possibly multiple children. This thought is so horrific because it's so awful she had to endure all the horror that she did, but if she had not of, someone else would. Difficult to wrap my mind around and reconcile myself to that fact.

I want to thank this community from the bottom of my heart for being here. I've been a trial watcher for years, but never felt confident enough to chat with others about my thoughts/feelings about them. I found this forum a couple years ago and was thrilled to know there were more people like myself. My husband has absolutely no interest in trials and is equally as bored in discussing them. He has always patiently listened to me ramble on about them, but now he can be relieved of that duty so to say, now that I feel comfortable sharing my thoughts with you wonderful folks.

So again, from the bottom of my heart Websleuths, i say..

Beautifully said, Rhozwen -- and please be sure to join us for whatever trial you select. We're all over the place. Not sure where I'll be next right now. I'll need to breathe a bit after this one, as will we all, I'm sure.

But Don't Be Shy -- you were truly a great addition to our faithful little group here, and we need your point of view. So glad you were with us in this very tuff fight for justice for the littlest of the little, and for what her time on earth may mean to other little innocents.

:loveyou:(((Rhozwen))) hugs!

#TeghanSkiba's paternal gparents in court 4verdict,wanted 2comment afterwards, but ADA asked they wait til after #JonathanRichardson sentencd

I feel sure he said that because they may/are going to testify in the guilt phase. Just being extra-cautious and trying to invite no trouble, problems or reasons for re-trial, etc., etc., etc.

Same here, AnonD -- I felt kinda bad after I had those thoughts when I saw them -- mom crying, g-ma kind of rocking, but I felt 'em, just the same.

I wondered if mom thought back to when her ~son~ was the same age as barely 4-year-old little Teghan, and if she ever saw signs that JR might be or had been cruel to animals or other children...

Then I wondered if g-maw realized that in spite of her doing nothing for fear that "they would take her away," her ~grandson~ beat them to it. Grrrr.

This has been one he!! of a case.

Hi, I think your "hope" is what happened to Dahmer! he was separated from the rest but someone still got to him. I hope so too, but I want him to suffer much pain on the way out. You're with me on that one I know. somehow we have to keep track of how he is doing. the s.o.b..:seeya:

One way is to use the link below (on my "favorites" list). No cost. Quick. At least you will know if he has gotten into trouble: Number Of Infractions: 3, for instance; and where he is: Current Location: Central Prison, for instance; what his control status is: Control Status: Admin. Segregation, for instance; etc., etc.

Hi I missed most of today! I am so glad they found him guilty of murder1.. I think he was scared and trying to hide it. Somehow I cant feel sorry for his grandmother. She knew the baby was in there, never brought out she cried, gram did nothing! I could understand her being afraid but call the police let them handle it. I wonder if she ever covered his adz before! :banghead: No matter what they do to him it will never bring Teghan back!! I hope they all feel it the rest of their miserable lives. For the pain the child felt may they hurt the rest of their miserable lives. Ripping her OPEN. May they rip open..I am P*ss$d. If I were younger I'd come there when the needle is ready!!!:behindbar

Wow. This trial has been so taxing. It's weird how a person can get so emotionally wrapped up in this stuff from afar.

I will be praying for the jurors, court staff, judge, attorneys, news people, family members from both sides (no matter how I feel about their role), and the everyday folks who sat in the gallery that witnessed this trial. Also the medical staff, law enforcement, expert witnesses and state agencies that had to see this all firsthand. I so hope they all have a strong support group and a faith in a higher being that will help them through this.

I will never forget Teghan Skiba. Or what she endured the last two weeks of her young beautiful life. I hope that somehow, somewhere some other precious child will be spared because of what has been learned from this. That is the only good that can come from the kind of evil that has been on display in Smithfield, NC the last few weeks. If it can happen in a place like Smithfield, it can anywhere.

I will also never forget Jonathan Richardson. Or the evil that he represents. While I've always known that evil is real, and while I have known some really mean people in my lifetime, I have never in my wildest dreams (or nightmares) imagined such heinous acts could be done by a "human".

Thank you Websleuths for bringing awareness to the plight of our children, of our future. I don't think any of us will ever be the same. May we be more aware of those around us who are in need or may be hurting. May we be more diligent in seeing justice done, and bringing these types of things to the forefront so people will see and know that these type of things do happen and must be stopped.

"Having seen all this, you can choose to look the other way, but you can never say 'I did not know'." -William Wilberforce

Peace.

Finally some justice for little Teghan.

Now all we need is someone to dish out some "justice" in prison.

Actually, once he is given the death penalty I wish they would just take him out back and shoot him. That would be even better.

I saw a post earlier on, and I had to agree. I think he loved every single second of this trial. Not just because he was able to hear someone go over the atrocities he carried out and relive this but I think he also enjoyed seeing how distraught he had made other people with his actions.

He is one of the most frightening people I have come across. This guy is pure evil.
