I've only seen two wedding photos of them, both taken in AU. Do you have a link to others?

Okay--I was remembering these two photos--one of which is NOT the B's. My mistake--I just remember being confused about these.

On a closer look, I now believe that Z was a flower girl in someone else's wedding in NC--sorry for the drama!!!

I DO find it odd and sad that Z is included in the photo of the wedding that ISN'T her parents, and is nowhere to be seen in the one of AB and EB...

Gah I rarely feel rage toward these people but she makes me want to SCREAM.

It just occurred to me that AB is not as familiar with the area as EB (her initials fit her perfectly btw) If I am not mistaken she took them to the area of her former home with an ex So I am leaning toward her killing and hiding Zahra, but I may be wrong.

I am almost positive in criminal investigations HIPAA doesn't apply like it does otherwise. So, while JQ Public isn't privy to the details of such treatment, LE *could* confirm she's been treated in the US (without divulging what the treatment was for or who rendered it). And b/c she's a minor, AB would have the right to release her med hx/records to LE. I believe the MD's are obligated to come forward in criminal cases regardless of HIPAA, to be honest.

I just don't believe ZB was treated. What would EB/AB have to gain from such human kindness?

I'm a biotechnology/Clinical Laboratory Science major and we recently had a crash course on HIPAA (and the myths that are often perpetuated about it). Healthcare providers, healthcare facilities, and sometimes insurers are the only entities bound by HIPAA. LE is not bound by HIPAA laws.

LE would have to follow a state's confidentiality laws. I don't know what NC's laws are regarding a minor's medical records.

I could be waaaay off here (can't research this right at this moment; will try later if I get the time), BUT this would explain something I've been puzzling over. It seemed to me at some point going through the photos online, that in some of the wedding photos EB looked markedly thinner than in others, and quite altogether different. I had been wondering if perhaps they'd had a second wedding ceremony 'stateside'? This would certainly fit in with EB's narcissistic-seeming tendencies, and I can just imagine her feeding everyone some kind of baloney about how the ceremony here would be 'so her relatives could see them get married, too'. (Read: 'Ooooh, another chance to be in the spotlight and get lots of free stuff for me, ME MEEE!!!' Whoops--sorry, got carried away--I'm feeling bitter...)

Sorry, all just my thinking 'out loud', but if it would have helped with immigration/residential issues to have another wedding here, I could see it happening.

Anyone's thoughts?

That was my guess. A search for fairies on some of the immigration talk boards may reveal more.

AB is about to get run over by a freight train.

At this point I think she already threw him under the bus the very first day when she was arrested. If she admitted to writing the ransom note, then she likely stated that Zahra was deceased at the hands of her father.

That's probably why it was shifted to a homicide investigation right away. And why all the original searches were in areas that AB would be familiar with, their old homes and his workplaces.

Now that those searches have turned up nothing, they have moved on to areas that only EB would be familiar with.

Thank you kindly for this info, Kamille. Maybe a lawyer will donate their services to AB in return for the publicity. Maybe AB's boss will help, if he believes that AB is innocent. Just cant see AB having the money to hire a high profile lawyer.

He will be appointed an attorney if he needs one and can't afford one just like anyone else. Although it appears his wife already snagged the primo lawyer. I doubt the Australian diplomats will step in to help him unless the DP is on the table and probably not then. People are warned that any country they travel to have laws that they are subject to and must abide by.

ITA but he's been over there for 2 years too...in fact, Zahra and AB moved to America the same time frame I moved from America. In 2 years you learn your way around - especially if you drive too.

If they were in the murder of Zahra together, it seems as if it might be every man for himself now. EB has an great advantage by having good legal advice. It becomes a race...who can talk first, who produces evidence first, who claims ...it was all the other one's ... fault first.

Hopefully, in this whole he said/ she said, LE can locate Zahra.

The charges have been filed over the last few months????

The timing of his arrest raises questions because the charges against him were filed over the past few months. Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkins had said authorities delayed taking action because he was cooperating with police.

Just getting caught up! I have a few things to add on the 200 per month food stamp thing...

I believe that this was only for EB. I work for DHS (In OR, not NC) and standard here for 1 adult with minimal income is $200 per month. I'm going to assume EB claimed herself only, with probably only her disability as income. This leads me to believe that Z & AB aren't US citizens, or I'm sure they would have been claimed as well and the 3 of them would be recieving a lot more than $200 per month, even with AB's income.

I also think its very likely that the hickory house rent was included in AB's income. That would explane why AB's income was reported so low (Can NOT remember for the life of me where I read this now, these threads just move so fast!) Also would have saved the boss $$ in taxes by paying AB under the table.

Cinderella, this is what I've been thinking--I used to work for a community action agency helping people apply for food stamps, among other services. It was in another state as well (WA), but I think the guidelines for the FS program are either Federal (IIRC) or very closely adhered to by states. JMO

Legal aliens can be claimed just like anyone else, if they have green cards they have almost the same rights as a citizen.

My only concern with this he said/she said finger-pointing scenario is the possibility that NEITHER of them might be convicted because of reasonable doubt created as to who actually did what/where/when.
