Harmony Montgomery was last seen alive in Manchester, N.H., living in car with father in Dec. 2019, prosecutor says - The Boston Globe

A former DCYF caseworker, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that in cases where a family’s eviction is imminent, a child welfare caseworker should ensure that parents have a plan to provide safe housing for their children following the eviction.

Manchester had a HUGE homeless population which I’m sure has already been discussed but they are always being made to move and getting kicked out of places…parks, under bridges, all over the place. I have seen people living in cars - a couple of vehicles were just right on my street nearly across from my house and the cops did put tags on their cars that said they had to be moved within 24 hours or they’d be towed.

I know it's a long shot but I pray CS is right.

I just spoke with Harmony Montgomery's mother, Crystal Storey, about the developments from Kayla Montgomery's arraignment.

"I don’t think my daughter is dead. I think she is out there and people are too afraid to come forward," she said @boston25

I think she's right. My thought has been that Adam gave or sold Harmony to someone and still collected benefits for her. I think the people he gave or sold her to are afraid to lose her and face charges.

Harmony Montgomery disappearance narrowed to 13-day window (newsnationnow.com)
Investigators have narrowed the window of the disappearance of a New Hampshire girl missing since late 2019 at age 5 to a 13-day period coinciding with the eviction of her father and stepmother from their home, with witness accounts of the family living in cars, the attorney general’s office said Monday.

Adam and Kayla Montgomery, together with their two children of their own and Adam’s daughter, Harmony Montgomery, were evicted from the Manchester home Nov. 27, 2019, the office said in a news release. ...

“Multiple individuals have reported seeing Harmony with Adam and Kayla in the following days; however, by approximately December 6–10, 2019, Adam and Kayla apparently had only their two common children, and Harmony was no longer with them,” the news release said.

“This information leads police to believe that it was sometime during this window of approximately November 28–December 10, 2019, that Harmony Montgomery disappeared.”

I’ll just say this, if someone gave me a child and walked away, I would love that child and show him/her all the love in the world and if 2 years later the other bioparent who had already had their parental rights severed came forward , I would be super hesitant to come forward. But at the same time I think that I’d have done everything in my power to make gain legal guardianship. But not everyone thinks that way, a friend who’d raised her nephew from 6 months until he was 10 suddenly had to make the “adoption” legal to keep one of the bio parents from getting the child back.

I might not have a point other than I would love any child, let me protect them, don’t kill your babies. I hope Harmony isn’t dead, I hope they just gave her to a loving home and didn’t kill her or sell her to some sex predator, which I realize both of which are far more likely.

Reporter, Jason Law says, "Crystal Sorey told me that she has a hearing scheduled at DCYF on February 1st. She told me that Adam Montgomery is expected to be at that hearing."

“It just doesn’t sit right with me that this woman was in the dark the whole time and [her husband, Adam Montgomery] didn’t tell her anything,” Crystal Sorey said. “I’ve always thought that she knows more than she’s saying.”

Does everyone in jail going to court have a shirt underneath their regular shirt there because it’s cold or is that to hide track marks and look better for the judge? Just a thought.
Given KM's conditions for PR bail release is to go straight to rehab, OP's suggestion is probably not far off the mark. MOO

The prosecution also hinted at a more sinister reason Kayla Montgomery should remain in custody: that she may know officials are close to a grim discovery, giving her cause to flee the area.

“She knows what law enforcement is closing in on learning. Maybe now it looks like an innocuous theft charge, welfare fraud charges. But she knows what we are going to learn as the investigation continues,” O’Neill said.

Do you remember seeing these cars? Investigators believe Adam and Kayla Montgomery were evicted from their Manchester home on 11/27/19. From 11/28 to 12/10 is when they believe the couple, their kids and Harmony lived in cars like these. That’s also when Harmony also disappeared.

It breaks my heart hearing about the life Harmony was living.

Homeless and living in a car with her abusive Father. How horrible.

And to think, a family wanted to adopt her, love her, reunite her with her brother, and give her a stable home where she could thrive.

And yet, some bureaucrat determined that a violent criminal with a history of drug abuse was the better option.

So incredibly sad.

MOO

I really don't understand how they determined her father was a suitable parent. He must be some charmer because just that teardrop tattooed on his face would give me pause.

I do believe it was most likely him, but she cannot be perceived as innocent IMHO. We have no idea what happened to Harmony or where she might be.

I'm not cutting her any slack. She knows what happened, IMO. So she is an accomplice to whatever happened. They were evicted on November 27, lived in cars, and didn't want Harmony around, too much trouble for them. The time line and events fit.

CL, Kayla's mom knew they were sleeping in the car. With all the COVID moratoriums on evictions, I don't understand how a family with your kids were evicted with no shelter in place. I'm sorry but Live Free or Die does not seem to work so well for little kids.

They were evicted in November 2019, that was before COVID.

March 15 2019 Gov Baker ordered a statewide shutdown of all bars and restaurants in Boston, Ma. I was teaching at the time and just a few days before my school in a Boston suburb closed for 30 days due to Covid. We never reopened that school year. 2020 started remote learning with zoom classes.

That was 2020.
I know it feels like this pandemic has been forever.
