I do not feel there is a strong resemblance, but since the remains were skeletal, and Simone does fit the timeline and other stats, am curious.

She's not listed on NamUs as a ruleout. The detective for Simone's case is very responsive and may want to pursue comparison. But I think she bears a much closer resemblance to Julie Soracco, so that may be worth looking into also even though the locations don't fit very well.

A possibility - Margaret Ellen Fox – The Charley Project. Lots of matches- age, height, looks, gap in teeth, New Jersey. Only difference I could see was that Fox disappeared in 1974 and this skeleton estimated to have a 1980 death date. Often, those are rough estimates, though. I am new to this, though. Has Fox been ruled out and how would I know?

Submitted Angela Hamby as a long shot.
She disappeared wearing socks and sandals. Height can be a little off with limited remains, and if you squint, a case could be made for the recreation of the Doe bearing a resemblance, especially with the extended nasal bridge they both seem to have.

I hope this one will be next. All the cases I have followed since I became interested in cold cases have now been solved...except this one.

My only fear is that the skeletal reconstruction is off, especially after seeing how the models likely failed with identifying Dawn Olanick (nee Princess Doe).

How good is the DNA sequencing as of now with this case?

New Jersey’s ‘Princess Doe’ Identified After 40 Years, Convicted Murderer Charged | Oxygen Official Site

At a press conference this morning, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Princess Doe has been identified as Dawn Olanick. Dawn was 17 years old at the time of her death and a junior in high school.

The mystery began exactly 40 years ago on July 15, 1982, when the body of a young female was found in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Blairstown Township, New Jersey. Her face, beaten, was unrecognizable. She was wearing distinct clothing and her nails on her right hand were painted red while her left hand had no nail polish. Dawn Olanick was quickly named Princess Doe...
