I’m leaning towards this too. If this was the case (and IMO), the people in the apartment below her, the ones who heard her faint screams, would hopefully have some information to give LEOs. If they heard the noises above on that day, maybe they also heard footsteps, a door open perhaps, or other indication of someone coming or going while Carolyn was at work on other days. IMO, If she did have a stalker (whether she realized she did or not), this person would probably be recognizable to her. Someone unknown to her would have been able to run out or something, and likely could assume he could be “written off” as a burglar or something.
The whole silence of it all seems so very strange. This reminds me of (admittedly, I could be remembering a tv show) a woman who was involved in a relationship with a powerful man who wanted the relationship to “go away”. Actually, come to think of it, I think it was an episode of “House of Cards”. Still, we know close to zero about the circumstances. JMO and pointing out there are so many possibilities when there is little known.
In an age of “justice for so and so” and #thisorthat, the lack of media and public outrage seems strange too. I just keep on thinking if it was in my old hometown, surely there would be people in the streets demanding answers, but maybe not. Maybe the sense of living in a safe town causes people to easily go on with their lives? Or a lack of community? There are many transients in Plainsboro and many people who keep within their ethnic groups/families. Or perhaps (MOO), for reasons we are not privy to, the media/family’s silence is at the request of Federal authorities who have joined the case.
