IMO No one saw a thing. One of the rarest stranger abductions. She literally vanished into thin air. Then they botched the investigation by focusing on mom for way too long. I'm sure them being poor, having broken English and being Mexican played a part in it too. They just didn't take them seriously.

I don’t think it was that “They just didn't take them seriously“ it was that the mother didn’t have any information at all to give them because she wasn’t close enough to see anything. Everything was what other people said MIGHT have happened to her.

I don't think police really thought this was an abduction when it first happened and didn't treat it as such. They probably thought she was lost in the wooded area. Then they turned to the family as suspects when they couldn't find her, which I understand. But IMO when a kid goes missing they should treat it as an abduction. I know it's a lot of manpower but it's better safe than sorry.

I still can’t figure how to link a page here but this is from the Cumberland Co prosecutors. I’m intrigued by the word choice of describing an “initial” sketch when these are 2 separate men we are looking for.

So this is a 2nd guy? Not a different witness account of the same orange shoes red pants black shirt guy with acne? I thought this was the same guy but a different witness's description of him?

I'm confused!

I think it’s the same guy? I forget where I read it but I do remember reading that the male was suspected to have two young children with him? Which was why people were confused if the “suspect” was the actual person to take Dulce or if he was actually just a person in the area near the abduction. I’ll see if I can find the info to reference it.

First suspect was described to a tee, with clothing and shoe color, van color and what he was seen doing...no facial hair and acne. This new sketch suspect is described as having been seen at the park with young children. Facial hair, bumps (acne) on chin. Too many differences to be the same described person. IMO

"We are releasing a composite sketch of an individual who has been reported to have been seen in the park around the time Dulce went missing," Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McCrae said. "This individual has been reported to have been with one or two children under the age of 5 years old."

The prosecutors office of Cumberland Co is calling the man in the sketch a witness who was described recently by a witness who was at the park the day Dulce disappeared. This man was apparently there with 2 children. This man in the sketch is described as wearing jeans, a white shirt and wearing a ball cap. Again I do not know how to link so I included the screen shot to the page of the prosecutor.
Does a witness who saw another witness make sense? Maybe not. But we do not have the information that LE does so I’m just leaving it at what was released today (sketch is dated Oct 11) because I don’t know the WS rules on debating.

Mom during 911 call said “they” said on that afternoon, a Hispanic man with two children. (And an aa male) were seen. Maybe a new witness came forward but he was know about since day one.

If he WAS known about since day one, why are we only now getting a sketch and description of him? There was no hesitation releasing info about a "man with acne and orange sneakers putting her in a red van." It's just confusing (to me at least) that after 4 weeks, they now want info on a seemingly different guy.

Perfectly said and I agree!

The person has chin acne. The bad fire at the produce plant started in the welding area. Welders get chin acne because of the sweat of the helmet chin strap...
We have discussed the fire earlier on these threads. While it is easy to assume a connection, the fire was the day after the disappearance of Dulce and I did read it the cause was not purposeful.

ROSENHAYN - New Jersey State Police say suspicious activity is not suspected in the fire that ripped through the F&S Produce plant here Tuesday afternoon.

Even here, at the beginning, I remember people speculating on cartel involvement or gang affiliation. Why? Because she's Mexican? I haven't been on this board that long (only found it when Dulce vanished) but is the norm to think a gang took a kid or a cartel was involved?

BBM.

Re speculation. I have seen it on WS many times in different cases. For example, Jayme Closs case. Rampant speculation that her disappearance and murder of parents were connected to:

Meth Gang (Meth problem in county)
Somali Gang (because of Somali immigrants in the local area/worked at the turkey factory)
Loan Sharks (due to a casino being in the area)
Disgruntled Co-Workers of Parents

That's just the beginning of it. So, I guess it must be normal for some folks to look for any and all possibilities.

DBM DUPLICATE
