A lot of times when people go missing their family and friends say "they would never do that" in regards to leaving their families, committing suicide, having an affair, etc. Sometimes it's because the family is in denial, other times it's because the MP was able to put on a show and hide things from their loved ones, and sometimes it's true that the MP truly did not do such things. It's really hard to tell. Don't underestimate people's abilities to put on a show for others.

I guess that anything is possible. I just hope his family gets answers. There must be nothing worse than limbo.

Maybe he was deep in debt? Loan sharks? Threatening to come to his house ? He runs out with whatever cash he has, meets them at a bus stop and gets in a car and it doesn't go well?

This is why I was asking so many questions about his company. I wonder if he made a bad financial decision without consulting his partner and figured it was easier to run than face his partner. Purely speculation obviously but I am wondering if his disappearance stemmed from a financial issue.

The way his new FB homepage was described tells you something--kissing a photo--and that image was left behind hours before his departure? I can't see the photo, but I would say this man decided to do something serious in response to a medical or mental problem. He could be lost among the street people of NYC--or something more final. He made a decision.

I agree with this. Certain mental illnesses can lead to this type of behavior. I have watched it happen with my own family members- one with bipolar disorder and another with borderline personality disorder. Also- recently in California a young woman, Jamie Devenport-Tull, crashed her car and intentionally hid from searchers in a field for nearly a month (I believe). There is a thread here on websleuths for her. She is bipolar and had stopped taking her medication and a state of mania led to her behavior.

When I look at his photos, I see a pretty significant change in his appearance. And in a pretty short time. Of course the cause could be any number of things. Illness or stress. If it is an illness, he could have taken this trip thinking it would be his last one. If it is illness, the physician couldn't say without court order. Could be either mental or physical. Stress over a long but now failing relationship, affair etc. Also financial stress.

Has it been stated that he possessed any weapons at home he could have missed, and had in the gift bag or meds? Wow! So many possibilities. I'm thinking this was well planned," exit stage left". Something in his physical changes concern me. IMO of course.

I was just looking at his photos and thinking the same thing, he looks as if he has aged, lost weight and is a bit disheveled looking.

I don't think the kissing pic is necessarily weird considering he's in show business. It's just silly and dramatic.

I noticed that too, but I thought it was me. He is a very handsome man, but I noticed he is much thinner and looked older and sort of haggard in his most recent pics. And not like a not normal weight loss, but stress or illness related.

I'm sure the police have thought of this but the oradell public library is in walking distance from his house. Did they check the computers for activity?

I read something that said cameras were installed in the Bergen county bus line in 2006.So wouldn't they know for sure if he got on that bus?

Interesting. I take the bus but don't know about cameras. It's entirely possible. I know that at the Port Authority terminal itself their cameras are terrible. As far as cameras ON the actual buses? No clue.

I just found the article from late May. I believe they have a 29 million dollar project to install them in all NJ Transit bus lines. There is no "Bergen county bus line". All NJ transit buses span many counties.

Apologies re: bus line info, not from the area - it was just listed as one of the counties included. Just can't imagine that there is no surveillance camera or bus driver that would have seen him if he took that bus. Especially on a Sunday with no commuter traffic.

I'm not getting the feeling that something happened on the trip that made him disappear.
It seems like he was gone on the trip and then upon arriving home he needed to take care of something/someone that had gone unattended to while he was in Scotland.....and it may have gone awry. IMO
