I went on a cruise in late January this year. My wife and I had a room adjoining a room for our kids, both with balconies. I suppose you could have climbed from one to another, but I would never try. Here's a picture from our balcony that kind of shows the layout:

I can't imagine anyone would try to climb from one balcony to the other. The partition goes all the way to the rail doesn't it? At least that's how I remember it.

The apparent death of 46-year-old Mindy Jordan after falling overboard Sunday night from the Norwegian Dawn is still a mystery.
But the allegations of abuse, along with the photos her mom Louise showed me, are certainly disturbing (more and video with the pictures at link)

ETA: Omg, he hit her so hard once that she broke bones in her face and had to have facial surgery.

There are partitions between each balcony for privacy. I don't believe anyone would attempt to go between one balcony to another. I'll just have to wait and see what transpires....but this has me scratching my head. :waitasec:

Also, the ship left for Bermuda at 4 pm and she went missing a little over 3 hours later? I'm not sure I believe she got that drunk in that short of time.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

LMG- this trip was his idea- to "make up" for his past behavior- this kind of vermen makes my skin crawl- I pray she fets justice and her family can heal.

Does sound like it, doesn't it?

I hope they can prove if he did do something to her on the ship. I hope they don't do like they did when the man fell and they cleaned everything up before forensics could analyze the scene. If they find her blood on the railing or other evidence inside the room...it could take a whole new direction.

Thanks for the info and the link SuziQ.

That tells me all I need to know.

The abusive sob killed her. :furious:

Earlier I was actually feeling kinda bad for giving Jorge a bad time....until I saw those pics and read about him breaking bones in Mindy's face! I hope HE has an accident.

I just watched Nancy and saw her sis and Mom- this is a classic case of wife beater-
Sick. My daddy always told me if a man is mean to you, call your dad.

I'm sorry if that was not available to her, and I'm sorry, this lady, who by all accounts was a good mom and professional, met her end this way. God Bless

I noticed that Jorge's defenders made their way to various articles to post comments supporting him and bashing Mindy. I wonder what they'll post now that those pics have surfaced? Yeah, they all new him so well didn't they? Blind as bats is what they are.

I would be up to feeding the fish near Bermuda. :) I heard they were hungry.

I also heard the "Bermuda Triangle" is a prime location for people to go missing, too. Yup...just vanish. Right off the ships! Gone! They think it has something to do with the area. Not a trace! They have even done documentaries on it. Written stories about it. It is magic!

Well, in all fairness to his friends...they probably never saw that side of him and knew nothing of the abuse towards her. Abusers cover well and the abused cover for them.

I think the real information in this case will come from the couple in the next room and people who may have heard them argue or something.

I admit I'm a little bit miffed tonight about DV. We had a murder suicide discovered today here. A man killed his GF, her 10 year old daughter and his 1 year old daughter, then killed himself of course. So yeah, feeding the fishes sounds real good right now.

Awww, that is awful, Suzi! Another ...but at least he killed himself to save the state the trouble.

Suzy...........thanks!

I've been following this case in the news and have been very curious about the balcony situation and whether or not someone could climb over the partition between balconies.

I took the picture from the link you gave and saved it, and then using zoom, zeroed in on the balcony suites and did a blown up picture. It's a bit blurry, but does show that the partition between balconies would be impossible to climb over, as they go to the top. I hope my picture is okay and not too large or small for this board.

She could have been trying to get away from the BF by climbing onto the next balcony. Maybe he wasn't allowing her to leave the room and she was afraid. If he really did not touch her, it still isn't murder or a crime. I could see her doing that if she wanted to get away from him bad enough and with a few drinks...she may not have taken into account the danger she was facing.

Again, they don't "pluck" people off a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean!! I had some friends that went on a family cruise for Xmas one year and their father died of a heart attack at sea. They were required to stay on the ship until they docked which as I recall was a day or two...at that time, they were allowed to fly with him back to the States.

I have a friend who went on an Alaskan cruise with her husband. He got very ill and the ship doctor couldn't treat him. A smaller, coast guard type of boat met the cruise ship, and her husband was taken off in a litter basket. My friend had to climb down a ladder on the cruise ship to the boat below. They were taken ashore to a hospital in Canada. My friend's husband died at the hospital. So, I think there's situations where people are taken off a cruise ship.

Sounds like it depends on logistics and the level of urgency- I am sorry about your friends husband.
