Was there a motion heard today on whether evidence will be admissible in Sarah Stern murder trial? Can't find a thing. Thanks.

:dunno: I've been looking too, and am finding nothing....

Thank you for posting this current update. I just read the article and it stated the informant knew of LM plan for the murder of Sarah Stern, as early as Thanksgiving 2016? This is new information. Wow. This is still so surreal for me.

An acquaintance told detectives that Liam McAtasney was "always making things up to be more interesting," defense attorney Charles Moriarty said in a failed bid to have a murder indictment against McAtasney dismissed. Superior Court Judge Richard W. English denied the defense request.

The acquaintance told police, "It's just like Mr. McAtasney to make up this kind of stuff," Moriarty said at the hearing Wednesday.

The acquaintance went on to secretly record McAtasney confessing to the crime. Moriarty is seeking to have that recording excluded from evidence at McAtasney's upcoming trial.

The defense attorney also said prosecutors withheld information that two citizens reported seeing Stern alive after it is alleged she was murdered and her car was found atop the Belmar bridge. Meghan Doyle, assistant Monmouth County prosecutor, said the accounts were investigated and not deemed to be reliable.

Thinking the hearing might have been postponed today. The county where the hearing is held (Monmouth County) is under a state of emergency due to a snow storm.

Christie declares state of emergency in 4 counties, closes state offices as blizzard hits N.J.

Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday declared a state of emergency in four counties along the Jersey shore as a blizzard hit the state.

In a tweet, the governor said he had made the emergency designation for Cape May, Atlantic, Ocean and Monmouth counties.

"Please stay off the roads and stay sheltered and warm," he said.
