That woman says the boy was abducted by his mother."

Heartbreaking. I wonder if this woman is James Harris's grandmother and that she believes it is him. The timeframe could work, right?

He was abducted on Monday, May 11 in NC by his mother.

This little boy was found Friday, May 15, and believed to be dead no more than 48 hours. How long would it take to drive from NC to NM?

Interesting thought Tracy. I'm not aware of any NM ties. Last I heard they were focusing on Atlanta, GA. But it's always possible...the stats are close....

UID reported 3'2" - James reported 3'0" (ETA: Possibly 4'0" instead. Discrepancies among posters.)
UID reported 38 lbs - James reported 40 lbs
UID short dark hair - James short black hair
UID Hispanic / Native American - James is Black (somewhat light skinned)
Clothing descriptions do not match, but James has been gone for nearly a week

Praying that it is not him. A sketch of the UID child would help a lot.

I think that tip probably came from James' Grandmother IMHO. I also think that James could very well be mistaken for hispanic.

It's close to a 24 hour drive straight though from NC to Albuquerque NM. I wonder if James' mother had any connections to Albuquerque?

We did find myspace pages on James' mother and it appeared to me that she was an escort. I turned the info over to LE because her phone # was listed on a pic on her page. There were no indicators on her page that would make one think "Albuquerque"...mostly frieds from NC or Ga I don't recall any in NM
I'm hoping this is not James and it would be very shocking to me if it is...the distance is what really makes this unlikely for me.

I keep thinking it may be James Harris as well but it just seems like such a long shot that the mother would take him all the way from North Carolina to New Mexico, and then bury him at a playground (although I guess that seems hard for me to believe that anyone would do that, honestly).

Statesville, NC, and Albuquerque, NM, are both located right on I-40 -- a straight shot through.

More information on the lady who thought it was her grandson..

Maria Gutierrez said watching news reports made her wonder.

"I was worried. I was worried because I thought it was my grandson," Gutierrez said.

She's estranged from the child's mother and hasn't seen her grandson in a long time. She said she went to the medical examiners office with a picture -- investigators told her it was not him.

Still she said she came to the park to offer her prayers.

The little boy was buried about a foot under the sand.

Police said Tuesday they will soon be able to release a sketch of a boy...

...Meanwhile, investigators have been fielding more than 50 tips from around the country from parents, grandparents and the like concerned about children...

It is quite possible that this child could be a citizen of Mexico.IMHO.

Such tragedy, burying him under the swings???? Breaks my heart! The folks in that area haved nicknamed him Baby "Justice" and "Angel Justice" I'll be praying for the toddler to receive justice, soon! {sigh}

Sketch of Baby Angel will be released within the next 30 minutes. APD police chief was on the local news and said that they have received the completed sketch within the last 15 minutes and will be releasing it in about 1/2 an hour.

The car seat found at another park does not appear to be connected. It was an infant seat. They are also checking survellience cameras from nearby businesses.

I'm wondering how sure they are he is hispanic or native american? How would they know this if the body was miscolored by the sand. Is it possible he is african american or white? That could make a huge difference when people are trying to find out if they know this child. If they think they do but say oh, well they child I thought it might be was not hispanic or native american.

Just wondering how positive they are about this fact.

Wouldn't they be able to atleast think he was african american by the texture of his hair? I know many hispanic/asian/native american people have thick straight black hair usually. White people have all different hair types. African Americans usually have a rougher texture to their hair though. I would think the hair would be a big clue in determining race. I wouldn't exactly say he wasn't white either tho. My neice has two parents white as can be and she looked mixed with the most perfect colored skin, and beautiful kinky curls. So i wouldn't rule white out, but from the pic he definately looks hispanic to me.

Here's an updated comparison:

To me, It does look eerily close though! The pic does look like an older James! I was so hoping Mom had just wanted him back to love and nurture, maybe she did and something has happened to her as well, I think KH could've flown there.... I believe whoever buried him there wanted him found rather quickly, too! Could be they are poor and unable to give him a proper place, could be they wanted to hurt the family and this was an area that it would be unlikely to have video surveillance cameras! Which in this day and age of technology, it's a pet peeve of mine that Playgrounds (and RV parks) do not have video surveillance, especially with all the SOs out there!!
I am thinking somebody should get his grandparents on a plane to NM, but I guess DNA should be the way to go first, so the Grands don't have to ID him!
I'll say some more prayers for the Wee one and his family!

I know we've all been comparing James to this UID boy. Has anyone here made a call to the detectives to see if they've looked into it? I'm sure they've already considered it and checked, but I would hate for it to be James and we're just sitting on that info...
