At the press conference yesterday I heard them mention all the things you've listed... so pretty good amateur :great:

He has absolutely no empathy for humans according to the professionals that has interviewed him.. so much that the only time he has shown any emotion was when he talked sadly about a mouse he had drove over and most probably killed.

Sad for one mouse, no emotion what so ever for 77 people killed in the most gruesome ways.

Breivik has no empathy and reminds me of Timothy McVeigh. He was upset over killing a woodchuck and wrote a letter calling slaughter houses inhumane. McVeigh had no remorse for killing 168 people in the Oklahoma City Bombing. I do recall that Mohammad Atta, one of the 9/11 terrorist, did not like killing flies, yet had no problems with killing 3,000 people on 9/11. Eric Harris was upset that his pet dog died before he massacred 13 people at Columbine High School. The scary thing is psychopaths are like that. :furious:

Norway massacre gunman Anders Behring Breivik 'not insane'
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...gunman-Anders-Behring-Breivik-not-insane.html

"The experts' main conclusion is that the accused, Anders Behring Breivik, is not considered to have been psychotic at the time of the actions on July 22, 2011," the Oslo district court said in a statement which reopens the debate on whether the self-confessed killer can be sent to prison.

"That means that he is considered criminally responsible at the time of the crime."

I think Anders Breivik is a psychopath, probably a malignant narcissist.

Some people are simply born without empathy. They just don't have the capcity for it. We can't relate to them.

The simple response is that they will never fit into society. Consequently we can't allow them out into society.

There is no doubt that Anders Breivik fits into this category. He doesn't get us. We don't get him. We have empathy. He doesn't. He is not human as we know it.

Anders Breivik shed tears as he went on trial Monday for killing 77 people - but not for his victims. The emotional display came when prosecutors showed his anti-Muslim video.

Well said, Snoopster.

Anders Breivik has been sentenced to jail indefinitely.

This article has a lot of background in it, about his years of planning and how he duped his friends and family.

When Anders Behring Breivik announced in the spring of 2011 that he was moving out of Oslo to become a farmer, his friends were pleased.

After five years dossing about unemployed at his mum's flat, including 12 months playing video games day and night, Breivik finally appeared to have found some direction.

In the summer of that year, Breivik announced he was going to take a sabbatical to play the role-playing computer game World of Warcraft full-time. He deserved a break, he said, after four years working "12–14 hour days". Since dropping out of school, when not working in a call centre, he had cooked up various entrepreneurial schemes, including the lucrative fake diploma scam and a number of less successful companies selling telephone marketing services and outdoor advertising space.

He didn't succeed on that point. But another of his goals has been achieved. He received the public trial he craved. "Your arrest will mark the initiation of the propaganda phase," he wrote in the manifesto he posted online before his killing spree. "Your trial offers you a stage to the world."

And, the smirk on his face when his sentence was announced says it all. :(

Wow, this story says he got the maximum sentence allowed: 21 years although that can be extended if authorities feel he is still dangerous when his sentence is up! Wow, so after killing 77 people his sentence basically puts him out of prison at age 54?? What kind of system is that??? Also, isn't it the defense that usually tries for the insanity plea? Why would the prosecutors be pushing for insanity (which carries no penalty) and the defense push that he was sane and imprisonment?

Norway Killer Is Ruled Sane and Given 21 Years in Prison

"OSLO — A court on Friday sentenced Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian extremist who admitted killing 77 people, to at least 21 years in prison after ruling that he was sane when he carried out his country’s worst peacetime atrocity. The sentence was the most severe permitted under Norwegian law, but it can be extended at a later date if he is still deemed to be a danger to society."

"...His 10-week trial ended in June. Defense lawyers argued that Mr. Breivik was sane when he bombed buildings in downtown Oslo, killing eight people, before killing 69 people at a summer youth camp run by the Labour Party on Utoya island, and should therefore be sentenced to prison. Prosecutors said that he was mentally ill, was not criminally responsible, and should be hospitalized instead. It was not immediately clear whether prosecutors planned an appeal."

Hope we never have to see his pathetic, disgusting, face ever again. Hope he rots in prison until his dying days and then he can rot in hell.

Prayers for all the victims and their families.

A little late for his victims, Breivik now opposes violence, it's just been announced. Timed to coincide with the 3rd memorial of his killings.

'Breivik's defence lawyer Tord made the announcement as memorial services take place across Norway.

Jordet said to Radio Norge: "Breivik has now become very clear on that he doesn't support use of violence and that he doesn't encourage others to perform violent actions." '

I wouldnt trust the news as it has been nothing in the other newspapers or news her in Norway.

:furious:
Mass killer Anders Breivik is suing Norway for violating his human rights by holding him in isolation for almost five years.

The 37-year-old — who killed 77 people with guns and a car bomb in 2011— made a Nazi salute as he entered the courtroom set up in the gymnasium of the Skien prison, about 130 kilometres south-west of Oslo, where he is incarcerated.

Appearing with a shaved head and clad in a dark suit with a white shirt, the right-wing extremist entered the courtroom and turned toward the media before raising his right arm.

Breivik has sued the state for breaching two clauses of the European Convention on Human Rights, one which prohibits "inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment", and one which guarantees the right of respect for "private and family life" and "correspondence".

Lawyers for both sides will present their opening arguments on Tuesday.

Breivik is due to testify for about three hours on Wednesday.
