It will be interesting to see who this guy is. But since he is being considered for Federal charges, not state, then I believe his involvement must not have been directly related to the actual shooting, but perhaps something along the line of weapons charges, perhaps providing weapons to Paddock illegally, or altering some of the weapons, or maybe something involving the explosive material found. I just think if this guy was part of the actual shooting he would be facing conspiracy to commit murder under the law of the State of Nevada.
Sheriff already stated he was not directly linked to the shooting.
Conspiracy sites on twitter currently going nuts in attempt to identify/mis-identify him and create confusion..
could be awhile.

“Until the investigation can rule otherwise, Marilou Danley and Douglas Haig have become persons of interest who may have conspired with Stephen Paddock to commit Murder with a Deadly Weapon,” according to the Metropolitan Police Department document, which was prepared in October.

When contacted by phone Tuesday about the newly released name, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said only, “If you’ve got it, publish it.” He said he could not comment on a federal case.

who is Douglas Haig?

When I read today's news, I came here to find out how Douglas Haig is!

Nobody knows?

Cannot verify this.
BUT, it's possible it is in relation to this statement

Investigators also have tracked a bulk ammunition purchase to Arizona.

That still is not proof.
LVPD have stated already that he purchased all his arms and ammunition legally.. so if it's a thing that he purchased from a dealer with same name and dealer was selling legitimately.. and paddock buying legitimately.. not sure why he would be a person of interest or even if he still is..

again, speculation still.

https://lasvegassun.com/news/2018/jan/30/judges-order-oct-1-shooting-records-unsealed/
The records were obtained after media organizations including The Associated Press sued to unseal court records and autopsy reports.

Judge Elissa Cadish issued a written order to release documents showing what investigators told judges to obtain the search warrants.

NOW this--- same article
Separately, Judge Timothy Williams ruled that the Clark County coroner should release autopsy records of Paddock, and the people killed by gunfire, with victims' names blacked out.Coroner John Fudenberg maintains the records are private but county attorneys didn't immediately respond to messages about whether he would appeal the ruling to the Nevada Supreme Court.
County lawyers maintain that autopsy information is confidential, with release restricted to families and to police investigating deaths.
"All records are public unless the law says otherwise," said attorney Margaret McLetchie, who represents The Associated Press and the Review-Journal in the case.

Gee thanks for the permission to publish Joe.

This guy thinks he runs the Review Journal.

Douglas Haig - my first thought is alias or a fake person. We’ll see.

JMO but he owns or works for an ammo company that sells specialized tracer ammo that is now closed indefinitely. Tracer ammo is not legal in a couple of states to my understanding. Which may be the reason for investigation. JMO JMO JMO

Judge had ordered redactions of name because of ongoing investigation and concern for man’s safety. “Now that it’s up online, I don’t think there’s a darn thing I can do.”

Per FIT p50

Paddock's vehicle was located in Mandalay Bay East Valet, 2nd floor, space 317 by investigators. The vehicle a 2017 Chrysler Pacific bearing Nevada plate 79D401 had been backed into space 317 and was locked. The key for the vehicle was obtained from valet.

Picture 23 from FIT shows space # 247 up at the top. Can anyone explain this?

View attachment 129467

Finally on a PC so I can see.

Maybe they didn't photograph this bag and contents until after the vehicle was removed by FBI. I think the report may indicate that the FBI only x-rayed the bags prior to removal. If so, then the 247 may be a space at the FBI facility.

The targets were proximal to the vehicle when they were photographed (thus the 315).

pp 50-51
Detectives secured the area on the belief there were explosive precursors within the vehicle.
ARMOR detectives requested LVMPD dispatch notify the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Chemical,
Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Task Force (CBRNE) respond. Las Vegas Fire
Rescue responded with their CBRNE vehicle along with FBI bomb technicians. Located inside
the vehicle were five bags which were x-rayed and removed by the FBI.

Upon rendering the vehicle safe, the vehicle and all items located inside were photographed. All
items removed from the vehicle were placed back inside and the vehicle was sealed. The vehicle
was subsequently towed from the Mandalay Bay Hotel to a secure FBI facility for a thorough
search and evidence collection.

Evidence collected from inside Paddock's vehicle included loaded rifle magazines for both AR-
15 and AR-10 style rifles. Also collected were 20 two pound containers of exploding targets, 10
one pound containers of exploding targets and 2 twenty pound bags of explosive precursors.

Douglas Haig - my first thought is alias or a fake person. We’ll see.

He is so arrogant and distasteful!? I’m wondering if he has any reason to think he is slam dunking his 2nd round? Because he isn’t advancing based on his communication style. No integrity, or class...zero...

Haig worried that any public accounts linking him to Paddock could cause him harm. “I have a family to take care of and feed,” he said, adding: “I’ve been interviewed, and that’s as far as it went. They were following up on a lead, and obviously it went nowhere.
the shooter purchased guns from a wide variety of vendors, including Cabela’s in Verdi, Nevada, Discount Firearms and Ammo in Las Vegas and Guns and Guitars in Mesquite, Nevada.
On Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the FBI field office in Las Vegas directed Newsweek’s inquiries to the United States Attorney’s Office in Las Vegas. A spokesperson there declined to comment. The bureau’s Las Vegas field office and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department previously did not respond to Newsweek’s requests for comment about Haig. Police in Mesa, where Haig lives, directed inquiries to the BATFE. In October, Mary Markos, a spokeswoman for the agency, declined to comment because of the “ongoing investigation.”
If this guy is actually innocent, as he proclaims- they just destroyed his life!

I still believe the new charges, if they exist are in relation to the child *advertiser censored*.
What a mess!!!
what an awful mess!!

District Court Judge Elissa Cadish apologized for the error and issued a gag order on any publication of the original document that included the name.

"I ordered them redacted and thought they were redacted not only to protect the investigation, but because of concerns about possible danger to this individual," Cadish said.

This publication is at war with itself in an effort to cover Judge redaction and their own interpretation.. (Douglas Haig is the name of a Mesa, Ariz., ammunition dealer who runs a website called Specialized Military Ammunition, which touts itself as "your source for premium, MILSPEC, tracer and incendiary ammunition in popular military calibers," including ammunition that "ignites diesel and kerosene." (Officials have said that Paddock shot at aerial fuel tanks near the concert during the attack, although they did not ignite.))

This is not helping at all..
I see no way the FBI would not have had enough info on him by now to indict him, if he was the guilty one.

Does that mean there is another person being investigated?
This dude certainly knew from early Oct acc to Newsweek article, below, that he was under investigation.. so the reason given by LE for keeping warrants sealed so as not to alert suspect is now moot. is it not?

The Las Vegas Review-Journal was the only publication to receive the mistaken document that identified Haig as a "person of interest" related to the mass shooting. It's the first public acknowledgment by law enforcement that a third person had been looked at in relation to the crime.
