I can't believe the driver of that car hasn't come forward yet. It makes me wonder if maybe they were involved, too. I can't imagine being a witness - even if I didn't see the actual abduction take place - and not contacting police as a witness.
I have a hunch that’s when he pulled over to get control of her and take her phone from her. Then they left to God knows where…Far away in a different direction. MooFrom the DM article linked above: "Cell phone tower pings show that Naomi’s phone was active in the area for around ten minutes after she was taken."
Does that mean that her phone was turned off within ten minutes after the abduction started? Does the area include the search locations a few miles away where the phone supposedly last pinged? Previously it was stated that the phone was stationary for ten minutes (it does not appear to be accurate).
ETA: This seems to be a confirmation: "Authorities said Irion's last known whereabouts were about 10 minutes away from the Walmart off State Route 427, where Irion's phone signal went dark."

It is interesting that the police release describes the driver of the unknown car as a "suspect", not a "witness". I suspect this may just be poor word choice, but LE may know much more than we think.
.
The press release does not say it is a suspect. Are calling it a”witness vehicle.”It is interesting that the police release describes the driver of the unknown car as a "suspect", not a "witness". I suspect this may just be poor word choice, but LE may know much more than we think.
I wonder if the shuttle riders have a designated parking area in the Wal-Mart lot. It would seem logical that shuttle riders would want to park close to the location where the shuttle actually stops. It also seems reasonable that Wal-Mart would not want the riders to use the prime parking spots.
The date the night before was probably just a regular date, but the sequence of events reminds me of the Heather Elvis case. The sexual harassment issue is interesting, but I suspect the individual(s) involved would have already been checked out by LE.

So good to have your expertise on this case. After enlarging and poking at the photo as much as I can, and spending a couple of hours looking at pictures of High Country tailgate accessories, I think it might be just that funky multi-flex tailgate Chevy added a couple of years ago. When it's folded a certain way, it has that rolled-up look.
But it still looks like there's some kind of extra attachment near the back of the box. I found an almost infinite variety of custom and add-on tailgate designs, things that fold down to tables or open in thirds to accommodate loads, or allow a tank to be loaded in a box with only a small hatch to access the spigot, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
If you check the latest press release, last part of paragraph reads:Because the car was left in a spot where it would be impossible not to notice it.
LE says there's evidence of a crime in the car. But having listened to several interviews with Naomi's sister in which she said that LE believes she is alive. And they now no longer call it an abduction but a kidnapping.
Abduction could be for several reasons. But kidnapping usually means they want something in return (money, crypto, the release of someone else etc.).
So I guess to go from abduction to kidnapping they must have something like a ransom note.
If you tell a crime was comitted but also believe that she is still alive, there must be a reason for that.
So there's most likely not a lot of blood, bulletholes etc.
If you check the latest press release, first line reads:
"We are requesting help from the public to identify a vehicle and the occupant(s) that appear in the Walmart video minutes before Naomi was abducted"
So, until I hear LE say 'kidnapped' I'm sticking with abducted.
JMapes - there is a lot of interesting flying out there. Today I've been watching a State of NV copter and a second copter doing fairly intense surveying of canyons along the Ruby Mountains and Lamoille Canyon in eastern Nevada (Franklin Creek Wildlife Area). I'm curious about N752DW Cessna Skyhawk, which seems to be up several times a day in the general search areas north and west of Fernley. Can't tell if it's an official craft or just a volunteer of some sortThanks for the save, @Herat. I had only found a very limited flight history for this one (going back to 3/11), and only noticed the lengthy flights in this area after NI had gone missing. It is indeed migratory bird season, and they're lucky I'm not a bird, cuz flying in circles above my head for 4 hours would earn them a stern squawking to!
Why would they still have their headlights on if they're sleeping or on the phone for that matter?I don't understand why people are so hung up on the age of her vehicle. If the car is well taken care of, it will run just fine. Just because a car is older, it doesn't mean the car is in the imminent danger of breaking down at any second.
I'm not so sure the person of the video is a male, it could be anyone. The person or people in the car with the headlights on might have not seen anything or anyone, if they were on their phone or sleeping, they most likely didn't see anything.
What is bothering me a bit is, I'm assuming the people that took that shuttle recognize eacher other's cars. Did no one notice her car leaving the parking lot? That's what I find strange.
I agree. It strikes me as odd that the car parked all the way at that end, then apparently sat there for some period of time, with the headlights on. They had to have seen the hooded suspect leisurely walking in front of their car, and then turning back to face it. Heck, I would have been locking my doors and bolting at that moment. I hope Walmart cams have also been able to discern if and at what point someone exited that vehicle, and how quickly it exited after Heidi's abduction. It is entirely likely that the person in that vehicle had nothing to do with her disappearance, but it is also entirely likely that he/she got more than a glance at the person that did. JMO
You never fell asleep on accident lol? Or got distracted on your phone? It happens. I sure hope there's nobody else involved, this is tragic enough already. Poor girl. Why would they still have their headlights on if they're sleeping or on the phone for that matter?
