Okay, so I drove over there. And I gotta tell you. . .if I didn't know a person disappeared on that street I wouldn't know a person disappeared on that street. If there was a 21st century version of My Three Sons or some 50's type family show, it would take place on that street. Of course, except for the fact that all old people live in the neighborhood.
In any case, I did not see one poster with Steven's picture on it. I am sure the reason for this is because of HOA rules regarding advertising, garage sales, etc. And plus, it has been a month. If you live in that neighborhood and don't know that someone disappeared there, you are never going to know because you are just clueless. So, after a month I don't know what a poster on a telephone pole is really going to do to help Steven's cause.
Next, there is NO way that Steven ended up there by accident. I don't have GPS and so I just looked at an aerial map and kind of memorized how to get there. I did not go the way I am sure Steven went in. There are only two ways to get there. By taking Eastern South from the 215 OR taking I-15 to St. Rose Pkwy to Executive Airport Drive. I am closer to Executive Airport Dr. so I went that way. It is kind of the "back way" in and nobody would ever give somebody directions to go that way unless they were already in the area of the airport or on St. Rose Pkwy. So, I am 99 percent sure Steven would have taken S. Eastern to Anthem Pkwy. It's a simple right then a quick left and down Savannah.
But still, there is no way he just "ended up" there. Did I mention that I even got a bit lost? So, I have lived here 12 years and still it was tough. He would have needed precise directions to get to that street.
I saw the house with the cameras. As you can tell from the aerial views, the cul de sac is not far from that intersection where the cameras are. So, Steven must have sat in his car for at least a couple of minutes because he went by the one camera at 11:54. . .but then does not appear again until 12:00. If he was hustling, he could have easily parked, jumped out and been in front of camera #1 at 11:56. . .easily. So, he dilly-dallied in his car for a couple of minutes. Why? Who knows. I think it is because he did not want to be early.
Savannah Springs is not technically a dead end. Yes, it ends at a turn around but there is a gate there in that cul de sac. If it was open, people could continue down Savannah Springs into the next subdivision. In fact, if I didn't see Steven cross that street to the other side, I would maybe think that he went down Savannah Springs, saw the gate was closed, and decided to just go around by walking. But I don't think that happened because he crossed the street which would be in the opposite direction of where the gate is.
The four houses on the "east side" of Evening Lights Ave. . .just four average looking (for that area) houses. No "For Sale" signs in front of any of them. The one that is most to the North has an American flag out front. The next one down, the owner was washing a car I think, his driveway was all wet. The garage door was up. The next two looked lived in. . .manicured grass, shrubs, etc. . .but did not see any activity. There is no doubt that Steven could have parked in front of any of these houses if he wanted.
What caught my eye the most is that those two houses. . .the ones that showed no activity when I was over there. . .both have casitas. A casita is a room detached from the house. You can see them from aerial views. I thought that they were garages when I saw them in the satellite photos. But, they are actually casitas, "guest rooms". . .very common in newer upper scale houses in Las Vegas. Makes me wonder if Steven was looking for a place to stay? I wonder. The casitas in the most southern two are detached but I think. . .I think. . .not sure. . .the other two houses have casitas but they are attached.
I was actually a bit nervous going over there but it was really nothing. No police. Not a lot of people walking around. I am not sure why that one house has cameras on the outside. That confuses me a bit. . .maybe the guy is just a LITTLE TOO concerned about security.
As for that address given in a previous post. . .that house just looks like any house in the neighborhood. But that address doesn't make any sense to me really. . .because Steven passes that address. In fact, in the video he is never even on that side of the street. By the way, there are no speed bumps there. The different coloring of roadway is a way to channel water. It is like cement or concrette while the rest of the road is some other material. There were no speed bumps in the area. So, I was right in saying that the reason he slowed down was because he was looking for an address on Evening Lights. He slowed down to make sure the street sign was Evening Lights.
I am going to throw something totally out there. . .I know Steven was "religious", etc. But anyone who lives here knows that Vegas is quickly becoming a haven for amateur *advertiser censored*. We have billboards all over the place "Bait and Tackle". But it's not a company that sells fishing equipment. It's a company that is looking to recruit amateur *advertiser censored* actors. It is also common (the only reason I know this is because I have done indie filmmaking here. . .PG/PG-13 stuff, guys. . .but some lighting, sound guys I have worked with have worked on *advertiser censored* sets in Las Vegas). . .but it is not uncommon for some *advertiser censored* "companies" to rent out a vacant house and do their movies there. Steven DID need the money. And a house in Anthem would kind of fit into what I think a *advertiser censored* company would look for. The reason: a lot of these places are operating illegally. . .no blood tests, no condoms, no licenses, etc. . .so they have to do it on the "down low". What better way to get away with it than to do it in a 55+ community?
That's get me to thinking that I have read in the past couple years where escort services, prostitution rings, etc. have been running out of some exclusive neighborhoods in Las Vegas because no one would expect them to be there. . .like hiding right under law enforcement's nose.
That's all I got. If anyone has any questions about my trip or wants me to go back out there, I am up for it but I will not knock on doors. . .I am sure those people have been harrassed enough. Thanks.
