Did Daniels keep "the dress"? I have never seen proof of this affair.

I’ve tried to refrain from commenting on this thread because I have too much to say and don’t want to breach the TOS.

I’ll just say that there is no dispute that Stormy
Daniels is a p*rn star, and no dispute that she was paid $130,000 by Trump through convoluted means.

Why did he pay her? He didn’t pay $130,000 to me or anyone else here, I presume. The payment is the blue dress.

I wish I could explain Trump the way New Yorkers understand him.

I’ve met him twice, once when he was just the son of the builder Fred Trump (I was young and he gave me candy), and then again when he was rich and famous, but not yet a politician.

I‘ve been in several Town Hall meetings with Giuliani back when he was a very effective mayor and not a sycophant for Trump.

I agree with several of the platforms Trump originally espoused, but that’s it.

If anyone thinks that Trump cares personally about the greatness of America and the people in it, IMO they’ve been deceived.

Trump not only said things about grabbing women by the p***y but also publicly announced he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and no one would care.
The antithesis of believing he is beholden to the law.

IMO but an informed opinion, the people in Trump’s base are not the people he’d ever have even glanced at. Is he having them over to Mar-a-Lago? These are people for whom he holds contempt and scorn, they’re not the “right” kind of people, but they are votes and that’s why he caters to them.

This indictment may seem minor compared to the other crimes such as WE ALL HEARD when Trump pressured the officials in Georgia to FIND HIM VOTES, the diametric opposite of democracy.

As rich and famous as Trump was in NY, he was not accepted by some of the most elite here who considered him gauche. IMO he’s been making up for that ever since.

Why is he starry-eyed around dictators like Putin and Kim-Jong Un? IMO he longs to be accepted in that club where they can never lose a vote and where their word is law, rather than the Constitution.

He has been unfaithful to all his wives. He just wants what he wants when he wants it.

In NYC he’s always been considered classless and tasteless and imo that was evident when he wouldn’t go to Biden’s inauguration. No president since John Adams has not attended the inauguration of his successor.

He is being indicted because he allegedly broke the law. Whether or not he is guilty will be the job of a jury. Even if these charges are not as serious as some others he faces, he is just a citizen and the laws apply to him.

I am a Republican and he makes me feel ashamed.

All JMO and I’m restraining myself from 95% of what I’d like to say.

Oh shoot - that is 9:15pm my time... I only get BBC for American news - wondering if they will put this on live - well before arraignment & after since cameras are not allowed in the court room.
Yeah I think that will be live, how can media resist?
It goes down at 2:15am my time, I don’t think I’m going to make it. I have things to do tomorrow.
I only get US news through the internet, I’ll wake up to the analysis, looking forward to that.

Ms Greene took aim at New York Mayor Eric Adams, saying that “you send your henchmen down here to commit assault against people by making loud noises”.

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) speaks outside Manhattan Criminal Courthouse on the day of former U.S. President Donald Trump's planned court appearance

According to Ben Collins of NBC News, the reason it was difficult to hear Ms Greene may have been because a Trump supporter handed out whistles. He was apparently unaware that Ms Greene was attending.

Reporters and camera crews far outnumbered protesters and counterdemonstrators in the small park across from the Manhattan criminal court.

A Nazi was spotted wearing a skull mask at the rally, shouting at others to watch Europa the Last Battle, an anti-Semitic film, according to HuffPost.

Anti-Trump protesters used cowbells and whistles to drown out the pro-Trump demonstrators.

Ms Greene urged Americans to “take a stand” during her brief speech, large parts of which were drowned out by the sounds of counter-protesters.

She claimed that the government has been “weaponized” against Americans. “I’m here to protest and use my voice and take a stand. Every American should take a stand.”

“This is what happens in communist countries – not the United States of America,” she added. “We have to take a stand against the injustice, the corruption, and the communist Democrats.”

“They’re taking our legal code, twisting it, manipulating it, and perverting it into something it was never meant to be,” she said. “Donald J Trump is innocent, this is election interference. DA Alvin Bragg is nothing but a George Soros-funded tool. He is a tool for the Democrats to try to hijack the 2024 presidential election. This is a travesty!”

Ms Greene soon left the rally and appeared on RSBN, saying that Mr Trump “is joining some of the most incredible people in history being arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested, served time in prison. Jesus! Jesus was arrested and murdered”.

yeah, a few. But New Yorkers have lived with his business and social failures since... forever. They know him better than most of us.

New Jersey too. Just ask Atlantic City.

Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino was the final casino in Atlantic City to bear Trump’s name. The Trump Taj Mahal has been renamed as the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino while the Trump Marina is now called the Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

I think in this case, anyone who can't abide by the restrictions put in place to ensure public safety will find themselves arrested.

Certainly, IMO.

As American citizens we have the right to free speech and the freedom to assemble.

We do NOT have the right to violence.

On January 6th, although Trump had already called for his supporters to march on the Capitol, and to “fight,” I think the D.C. police were quite overwhelmed and caught off-guard by the level of violence and rioting.

I think the NYPD, which has experienced everything, also has the benefit of the heads-up that January 6th unfortunately provided.

I can hope and assume that the NYPD will be able to keep control and no one will die as they did on that horrible day at the Capitol.

I agree. I also think this indictment is not the only one Trump will be facing.

Former President Donald Trump has expressed interest in speaking to the media in the hallway outside the New York City courtroom this afternoon, Fox News has learned.

Per Fox News' Jake Gibson, a federal official says that any remarks would likely be a comment in passing, not a full-blown gaggle. Trump has expressed interest in speaking to the media in the hallway either on his way into court or both, the source said.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams singled out Greene specifically when he delivered remarks about public safety ahead of the arraignment.

"People like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech, she's stated she's coming to town. While you're in town be on your best behavior," Adams warned on Monday.

Adams continued: "We will not allow violence or vandalism of any kind and if one is caught participating in any act of violence they will be arrested and held accountable, no matter who you are."
Reports from the rally site estimated that fewer than 100 Trump supporters were present at Greene's rally, and upon her departure, she was shielded from counterprotestors by security.
Greene's rally for the former president comes even as polls show that 60% of Americans agree with the indictment...

I remember going to Trump Marina towards its end and it was a total dump.
