Wish I could say I was shocked by a hardworking female prosecutor getting sidelined and impeded by her male colleagues who are all gunning for plum law firm jobs out of the revolving door. It works that way in the junior ranks of law firms too.

A lawyer for Ghislaine Maxwell, a British socialite charged with finding girls in the 1990s for financier Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse, said Tuesday that her client is awakened every 15 minutes in jail while she sleeps to ensure she’s breathing.

Attorney Bobbi Sternheim told a Manhattan judge that Maxwell faces more restrictive conditions than inmates convicted of terrorism or murder. Maxwell has no history of mental health issues or suicidal ideation and no criminal history, either, she said.

"In their letter, prosecutors said the 13 hours a day Maxwell gets to review trial materials on a laptop computer is more time than any other prisoner is allotted.

The reference bothered Sternheim, who said Maxwell faces burdens unmatched by other inmates and has been mistreated. She noted that the latest production of evidence by prosecutors was over one million documents and Maxwell lacked enough time to study the material."

Why does she need to study it? She's already declared all of it to be lies. On sleeping, ya, waking her every 15 min is a bit excessive, don't we need a certain length of uninterrupted sleep to function properly?

A Clinton spokesperson said the president had never been to the island and provided detailed travelogue entries of the period in question that did not contain a visit.

Chelsea had ties to Epstein and Maxwell, Band said; he showed me a photo of Bill and Chelsea posing with Epstein and Maxwell at the King of Morocco’s wedding. Chelsea remained friends with Maxwell for years after the press revealed Maxwell was a close associate of Epstein’s. For instance, Chelsea invited Maxwell to her 2010 wedding at the Brooke Astor estate in Rhinebeck, New York, after Epstein had pleaded guilty in Florida to procuring sex from a minor...

Considering GM is whining about only getting 12 or 13 hours daily to comb through millions of pages of related documents, there must be bits in there about BC too.

Adults who choose of their own free will to support GM cannot be compared to the son of a judge who was not involved in his mother's work. Are deranged members of the public going to seek and kill GM's bond cosigners? More like nobody wants their name attached to GM, for obvious reasons of reputation.

Does she really have a bunch of friends/family that are old age pensioners or regular working class Joes? There seemed to be 2 kinds of people she kept around her, one percenters and vulnerable young girls. Why does she even need cosigners when her own wallet could cover it?

Thanks, I needed a good laugh. I wonder what his ex thinks about GM spending time with her kids. What do the kids themselves think? Did the local children's aid open a case on her or did they even know what was going on before GM's arrest?
 
Feel like Nygard has been mentioned in this thread but may be time to start a thread for him, especially given the remarkable overlaps between his case and the Epstein/ Maxwell setup.

Two women who allege fashion executive Peter Nygard raped them when they were teenagers are suing Nygard's so-called "top girlfriend" and "recruiter," and the talent agent and agency representing her.

The accusations are made in two separate lawsuits filed in the U.S., in which the women allege the defendants conspired to provide Nygard "with a steady pool of victims."

The first lawsuit was filed in Miami by a Florida woman on Oct. 22. She claims Nygard raped her in 2010 when she was 18, and that Instagram model Suelyn Medeiros was partially to blame for allegedly luring her to the Bahamas.
