It really is amazing-- today is the most I have seen her swing her amazing neck around to the middle region or the rear.

That makes sense

She is doing it right now

I think this is finally IT! Come on April, you've got this.

I think she's ready.
She's bending around looking towards her backend and looking swollen.

:gaah: She better not!

Seriously, she's cleaning her back end almost constantly now. I don't think she'll last till Easter. Yup I said it

I do think that means a lot - she can't just develop hemorrhoids in one night!

And a couple of the other ones I watched they did that a lot!!!

Feeling strange sensations back there !!

It works like a shot of oxytocin. Stimulates contractions and progresses labor.

If she was in labor :blushing:

The tushie stuff correlates IMO with the pacing

And she is def not standing still at the feeders for a long peroid of time , like little Miss Bulimic has for quite some time

Have any of you seen her lie down once today??

Had a rough night last night even with the Lunesta , now when I see her swinging her head to rear I don't want to take it yet.

I noticed she is doing it more and more in addition to holding her tail even higher and chewing at her flanks--all signs birth is imminent. http://blog.zoo.org/2013/07/zoos-giraffe-due-to-give-birth-any-day.html

Arching the neck backwards is another sign of labor, IIRC, which is what I'm looking for next. That and for her water to break.

U2forever, those cakes look awesome. I need cake. Maybe I should get one for the birth when it happens.

We are getting Opy a leash this weekend. Will report back!!! [emoji3]

Oh yes, dyannaON, let us eat cake, watch April birth a beautiful, healthy calf, check out Ollie and be merry!!
Give me cake or give me sugar.
Cake helps make the world go round. The sweeter the better.

I wonder if there is something genetic like it would be safer to deliver in the cover of darkness?

I am telling you Miss April you had better not be just having a "gassy" day!

I thought wish we had audio!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She was standing next to the outside door with her tail out and what I thought was the hooves starting to come was the black latch on the door :(
