Just wondering why people from outside the area are viewed as a detriment, or "distractors," and why their opinions and wanting justice for someone outside of their own local area is a bad thing? Seems to me that ANY advocacy is a good thing, and Jen is getting a lot of it from all over the WORLD.

I'm sure that CJ will come and explain what he meant, but I do want to point out that he didn't use the word "detriment." And I don't think he meant it as a slam against any of the regulars here who have been so concerned about Jennifer. I interpreted his statement to be voicing frustration about some of the statements here that the locals haven't done enough, and they should be camped out at the Sherriff's office, or be more vocal...those sorts of statements.

The problem is...there's a certain truth to those sorts of statements, but it's like preaching to the choir. The locals who are HERE seem to all be quite active in getting the word out, and taking action to do searches and making and putting up posters and posting on local media and setting up a FB page just for Jennifer, and making helpful videos and maps, and checking to see where cameras are located and if there's any helpful footage, and explaining local life, and prodding the Sheriff's office, and perhaps even putting themselves in harm's way in doing so. 3 cheers for these locals and may their tribe increase!

Thanks Jillian. I am not from Norwich. I learned of Jennifer from my cousin who has a mutual friend of GR- the statement that she was going to Destiny initially caught my attention as I am about ten minutes from there and go there often. The more I read about Jennifer the more she reminded me a lot of myself and someone I would have liked to know. I'm too in my 30's, a SAHM to three kids, and have Fibromyalgia. I haven't been to Norwich in years and can't directly do anything to help but I've tried to do what I can. I've talked to everyone I know about her being missing, shared her flyers countless times on FB, and sent her story to national media outlets (Nancy Grace, Today Show, etc). Not that any of that truly helped but I think any attention to the case to get it out there would be useful. It's human nature to care.

Every share indeed helped raise awareness for Jennifer!
Thank you..

this one?

:)

(thanks, jane!)

:what:

WAIT! Is it just me ... Or, if you put a silk jacket and a mustache on that rock ... doesn't it resemble ... Nah, it couldn't be ...

:floorlaugh:

As I said I am not a local but Syracuse didn't even have anything close to snow til the week of Christmas. I remember talking with my sons preschool teacher the last day of school before break that it looks like a green Christmas. There wasn't even the precipitation around to convert to snow. Yes, some areas can get hit harder but the precipitation and temperature factors still must exist. Even my in laws who live in Utica area did not have snow til later and they got hit hard this year. I also at one point put together a list of Norwich conditions- temps (high, low, average) and how much precipitation fell and how much snow was present. I don't feel Center Rd could be hit with lots of snow to hide a body while the remaining areas are snow free and relatively warm ( as far as December goes). So I do agree with you on the no snow. :twocents::peace:

I have no clue on the service. I know unless there is a dexterous rock out there in order to ping at some point it would have to be turned on. I've done several find my phone experiments. This is a huge red flag.

Lastly, I am with you on LE. I think they are hoping it just goes quiet. I think they got in over their heads. Their should be a check of their work. It's sad that a woman, a mother, gets murdered and there isn't a sense of urgency to get answers. They should be putting the pressure on for answers. No faith from here in them. I so hope I am wrong on this. :twocents::please:

:moo: I don't think she was there the entire time. I think she was taken there after the snow started to fly. I thought it was said she was in a fetal position which tells me she was in a tight space/ container. Otherwise it'd seem she would just be sprawled out so to speak. I'm not an expert its just moo. :moo:

Is it possible she was held someplace unclothed....escaped and sat down in the fetal position on the side of the road trying to keep warm waiting for a passerby. Froze, snowfall, plows. Seems unlikely but its an outside the box.... Is there any areas there to keep someone undetected?

Questions....

What is a Level 3 sex offender? (the worst sort???)

Do Sex Offenders have that Info on their Driver License like BSL's in Mickey Shunick's case?

Was the SO that was arrested living close to Jennifer?

Did he have a vehicle? Was it listed on his ID page?

Was he a Registered Sex Offender or a Registered Sexual Predator?

Dear God...Please Bring Justice for Jennifer, her Children, Parents and Sister

The RSO only got out of jail a week ago-so nothing to do with Jen. They have to register with LE when they move into an area

Yes, MustangSally, Tier 3 RSOs are the worst of the worst/predators..Serial Killer Brandon Lavergne, murderer of Mickey Shunick & Lisa Pate(LA) was a Tier 3 RSO before abducting Mickey Shunick last May..

Sexual Predator (offenders convicted prior to 1-1-08) must register every 90 days for life. Sexual predators are also subject to community notification, which means upon a change of residential address, the County Sheriff will provide notice to a neighborhood within 1000 feet of a sexual predator's residential address.

Had really hoped to come on after not following JR for a few weeks to see an arrest. :(

Cj I hear what you are saying. I am not local, but I understand how you are feeling and what you are saying. I (like many others) experimented countless times with the find my iphone app and came to the same conclusions on the service/no service. I spent a lot of time on that because I am not there so I can't talk about the snow or lack there of. It's frustrating for us as well when there are so many different opinions on the weather or the police sitting there etc. I've also been emailing the local papers and our favorite JM to do another story it's the only thing I can think of to do right now even if its not helping.

Anyway my point was I really appreciate all of the locals here...even the ones that don't see things the way I see them (that not directed at you CJ) for their very valuable input.

I drove over Rt 23 for over three years while living in Norwich and working in Cortland, and i have used several different cell phones and three different carriers and i know for a fact that there is no cell service from just past the Country Club Rd (County rt 44) to almost up to the Pharsalia prison camp. I used the phone to try to report road conditions, dead deer in the road, accidents, etc and i always had to drive further along that road to get a signal to make my calls. Although i guess it is possible that some carriers and more powerful phones might get a partial signal, mine didnt.

Any updates on the search that was taking place on 23?

Locals...how much snow is on 23 now...around the area where the phone was found?

Its been sunny the last few days. A little windy though. In Norwich it's been upper 40's today is sunny and nice. Haven't heard if the search found anything yet though. It as usual been silent around here

Rt 23 valley is basically bare but the higher elevations are still a different story for snow cover.
The search was not a big or long lasting one but it did happen. The results are either nothing or loosely guarded like much of the rest of the case.
I have a feeling we will have some developments soon and crow for some will be served in various forms.

Here's hoping. And I do agree, a break is forthcomming.

I haven't been able to post in a while because of the urgent work I was doing for Bob's case. I tell you though, it was worth it. Seeing the years of obstructions and disparagement of Bob backfiring completely, when the general public got to see his story.

Some of the posters there and here have had a really tough time advocating for two people no longer able to help themselves. Keep on keeping on guys, however you can, whatever you can.

I sent out so much information for Bob and got hardly a reply, and at the last minute someone set up a fb page for him. Without a shred of info on it, but mirroring the name of the website I have for him where I put so much info and the tip number. I stayed up all night when Bob's episode aired, worrying no-one would find his website or WS.

They did though. In droves. The will of the people.

Whoever did this to Jennifer must be found, and face the consequences of their actions in a court of law. The law was created by the will of the people, and the will of the people will be on Jennifer's side in this case, once they all get to hear. I'm certain of that.

Great news about the search! That suggests to me LE have had a tip of some sort. Even that there may be a development in this case soon.Thank you so much for keeping us in the loop, all you locals. It does sound like word travels really fast in the community and that is a very, very good thing in this case, I think.
