I grew up in upstate NY and he keeps talking about being "local" after 7 years. I highly doubt he's considered a local after only 7 years. In my opinion this is also a fairly racist part of the country, I'm not saying that everyone feels that way, its just my opinion as a minority (Jewish) who grew up in that area.

I don't know about "racist," but it is one of the whitest areas you'll find in NYS.

How much clout does GR have in the community... Specifically... With the LE?

What is his relationship with the officer he saw at the sauna on the day in question....

It almost hints at, "I've got friends in high places".....

JMO

Ahhh, yes, the state trooper friend that he hadn't seen in years at the sauna that he never uses.

Just reported on TV from Binghamton.

http://www.wbng.com/news/local/Sheriff-Discourages-Private-Searches-for-Missing-Woman-187806481.html

With this latest, this tells me they DO BELIEVE she is local and do not want EVIDENCE disturbed. I have a feeling they are getting close to solving it. With all the snow having melted around here, those cadeavor dogs can do what they amazingly do best - sniff it out!!!

Let's hope the case is solved soon!

Did LE initiate this report, or is the news station, after picking up on public interest, just recycling LE's previous statement from a couple days ago?

As we can all compare the cases we have followed on WS. How the people closest to them react to things gives us a clue as to whether to see them as having any guilt. When we see someone very involved, talking to all media, giving interviews, getting people involved...they usually have nothing to hide (not always...but most times) those that try to stop the process, "take the focus off of them", hinder getting the word out...we see many flags for reasons...and yes some of those people are innocent...but many are not.

I always look to see how everyone reacts at the beginning....from the start...it took GR a day and half to report her missing.....

He found the phone.

He has wanted no searches to take place by the concerned community.

He gave up hope the first week she was missing.

He went on with life as usual.

He has not contacted, Cue, Texas equisearch, Find me...or any of the missing persons organizations.

He has not gotten out and posted flyers locally at the beginning.

He has not set up any media interviews.

He contacted a psychic...that's it.

He did things out of the norm on the day she was missing.

What did he do the next day?

He has spoken horribly about a person (Jillian) setting up fb page to help find JR.

He has condemned searches and this other fb page.

Ask any family who is missing a loved one......they want HELP.....they don't turn away HELP!!!!!!!

Anyone think of things I have missed?

There also have been no vigils for Jen's safe return or rewards offered.......... :(

To clarify: On December 19th, LE was still working on the subpoenas and as of Friday, January 18th, Cutting was still waiting for Jennifer's telephone records (not the subpoenas for the phone/s).

My Experience: Threatening calls/texts were deleted from my cell phone.
My documented records are right here.

May 20- My complaint is filed with LE. I fill out a release form for Cell Phone Co.
May 20- LE requested my cell records and faxed my release form to Cell phone Company's Corporate Security, "Subpoena Compliance Team".
May 30- LE has complete detailed records in hand. I get a copy.

In ten days, complete phone records were obtained.

So what's going on here?

Major Cell Phone Co.'s have Subpoena Compliance Teams, tools and contacts specifically for Law Enforcement to use.

Hi. Been reading here, and the two FB pages. New to posting (took me a bit to get registered). I live near Syracuse and the case has caught my attention. Not sure what it is about it... I'm a SAHM with three kids so maybe it hits close to home. Idk.

I've been wondering why he didn't track her phone before reporting her missing. Also, I thought I read at one point it was like 8 pm she was reported missing. Destiny isn't even closed at that time. With the holidays it most likely was in extended hours and usually closes at 9:30. Adds to it driving time why did he it seems jump the gun to call her missing. Did I misread the time she was reported missing?

Hello and welcome!! :seeya:

You make a great point. Why DID he jump the gun and report her missing so quickly? Some people are just worriers. My parents might do this with myself, or each other, if they couldn't get in touch by phone the whole day. We're just very close like that. GR has said that JR never goes more than 2 or 3 hours without being in touch, so maybe after a day of hearing nothing from her, he felt like something could be wrong? Was she a normally punctual person, and when she wasn't home for dinner, he felt something could be wrong? [this is from a standpoint of giving him the benefit of the doubt, of course]

It does seem very fishy.

Here's some interesting information about voluntarily missing adults. I googled about this subject to see if I could find anything about LE's strategy in these types of cases, since we don't know for sure if LE thinks JR ran away or if they think she was harmed. Just food for thought....

http://www.missingpersonsofamerica.com/2011/05/when-adult-is-voluntarily-missing.html

"From the moment a person disappears, many investigators, because of their past experience with MP's (missing persons), will make an early call as to whether it is voluntary or involuntary."

~I wonder what, if anything, LE's working theory was during the first few days after she went missing?

"If they do decide it is voluntary, based mostly on the fact that there is no sign of foul play, police departments will not put all their resources into finding that person."

~Is this why there have been no press conferences and ongoing searches?

"With no evidence of crime, police cannot get a search warrant that will allow them to get account information for their internet or cell phone."

~Is this why it's taking so long for them to get phone records?? Does this mean they don't have clear evidence that a crime has occurred? Are they trying to get a warrant, but meeting with roadblocks due to no evidence of foul play?

http://www.lapdonline.org/lapd_adult_missing_persons_unit

"Since being a missing person is not a crime, police are given a very limited role while conducting these types of investigations. As a general rule, all people have a right to be left alone, and police intrusion into their lives must be minimal. However, in cases where “foul-play” exists, police can investigate just like any other criminal act. Also, in cases where the missing person is “endangered” due to medical problems, or life-threatening situations, police will take appropriate investigative measures.

Once the missing person is found by police, the Department will notify the person who made the report. However, police cannot disclose the location or whereabouts of the missing person without his or her consent."

Whats happened to the Help Find page?

It looks like they had a new social media specialist with experience in missing persons come on board to help run the page. They probably "hid" it for the moment to revamp it a little, based on suggestions from the specialist? Just a guess.

And a very good guess! It is under maintenance but will be back up when she's done. :)

Oops! In heading to bed soon , work calls. I know you'll keep this thread active all night and I can't wait to read in the morning. Let's bring JR home!!

Hmmm, not sure I'm excited by this article when it says:

Since then, deputies have recovered Ramsaran's iPhone and car at two different locations.

Unless they're being terribly literal about it in that while other people found them, the deputies actually came and "recovered" them from the scene.

To be honest, it sounds like a stringer has been reading here and FB and put a filler together....
