as for cph, if he was the serial killer, why would he have identified himself when he spoke to Shannan's mother on the phone? why didn't he try to hide his identity by using a phone that couldn't be linked to him? that's what the serial killer did when he called Melissa Barthelemy's sister before, so why did his MO suddenly change? what made him so sloppy all of a sudden? and based on his previous phone calls to the younger sister, it seemed that he enjoyed taunting his victims families so why didn't he do the same thing to Shannan's mother?

As was said before and these recent map shots confirm...4x4 trails in the area. Manorville is known for good 4x4 spots as well as Ocean Parkway. Another interesting spot is areas of Yaphank.. Exit 56 off of the LIE as well.

I don't think these victims were 'held' in a storage drain. LE would have known that after an inspection of the remains. Unless the conditions of the drain is similar to the shoreline..Which it may be close. ? Possible.

It made me realize that "the killer" DID call Shannan's Mom to taunt her...he identified himself as Peter Hackett - doesn't mean he was CPH, but you made me realize that the call to Mari was all about "TAUNTING." I sincerely believe her Mom got that call...Now we need to figure out why Hackett's name came up???

They wanted Pak to pick up playing cards and lube, which he refused to do. I think they went to a Walgreens or whatever you have out there.

I think the SCPD is working off a tip. If they feel she drowned, why are they using a backhoe to dig a big hole in the marsh? This makes absolutely NO sense! If she drowned, her body would be laying on the top of the marsh or in those mosquito trenches and wouldn't be buried under much muck or anything else.

Flukeyou on the LISK forum has said that the GB4 bodies were kept in the marshland behind CPH's house. I think that is why they are digging. They would have found SG already if she accidentally drowned back there!

I wonder if the call to cvs and the 15 minute drive where about condoms. Seems weird to drive over to a friends house at 3:30 am for condoms, drugs or even a sedative. Unless you know the friend up late banging lines off a mirror.

I also thought it was pak that said they didn't leave the neighborhood. But according to pak he was sitting outside of JB's house where he might not be able to see if a car left the neighborhood. SG could have told him, just wondering if there would be a reason for him to lie. Either way, he can't be protecting her if either one of them leaves for a little while.

Police investigating the disappearance of a New Jersey sex worker along an isolated stretch of Long Island beachfront found lip gloss Friday in an area near where her purse was also found this week.

Police said earlier this week they believed she likely drowned in the marshy muddy tidal waters, and now say it is possible she could have fallen into one of the drainage ditches, as deep as 15 feet, that cut across the marsh land.

Most of those ditches are not visible because they are covered with brush, but in some cases searchers have fallen into the ditches as they comb the area.

I read somewhere that the CPH admitted that he had made the phone call to Shannan's mother, and I'm sure the LE would have verified it as well. I don't think GM's phone call could be considered taunting because there was nothing terrible or distressing about what CPH said. He may have lied to her but there was no intention to horrify her or scare her at all:

Gilbert's mother, Mari Gilbert, of upstate Ellenville, told Newsday she received a phone call from Hackett shortly after her daughter disappeared. She said Hackett told her he runs a halfway house for runaway children, that her daughter visited him on May 1, 2010, and that she left that day with her driver.
Mari Gilbert said Hackett asked her to have Shannan call him. "I said, 'Fine, I will.' Then he hung up," Gilbert said Sunday.

If you compare that to the phone call that Melissa's sister received, it's obvious that the killer intentionally said things to distress the victim's family:

A&E special announced Nov 21, 2011, aired Dec. 5, 2011. No new revelations.

Dec 6: Renewed search for Shannan Gilbert. LE announces there is only one serial killer, but Shannan was not killed by him, she drowned in mud. No new leads on serial killer. End of story. Or end of revised story.

Shannan was wearing strappy sandels, no boots, no ballet shoes. She did not get in a truck. The 23 minute 911 call was what? a delusion, a hoax. With responders looking for her she was dead already? Didn't cry out for help?

I'm truly speechless.

I recall that the remains were sent to the NYC medical examiner's office. Do you think they are sophisticated enough to tell from skeletal remains the difference between being enclosed within burlap exposed to rain and deep snow vs. being submerged in brackish water?

so..which is it...JB wanted her to leave because he thought she was a dude, or they had sex and hung out...she was there for a long time,

so which is it...there was a drifter? or no drifter? sex or no sex...she was paid or not paid?

CPH saw her on the beach, knew her, called her mother... or did not do any of these things.

Shannan had boots, flats or sandals.

she had a purse, she had no purse.

every show or article seems to add or remove facts.

even if she was out there running around and fell in a hole....are you telling me she was instantly unconscious...? why wouldn't she scream for her life?

all of these grown men playing games with a young girl...how shameful to call a hooker and then try to get rid of her out of the house like a dog.

I know one thing for sure...she was terrified of MP...and in these situations where there is a pimp, the pimp is in control, he is supposed to protect his girl...but if she doesn't bring the money, there is the punishment....this we all know.

400 bucks is not a lot of money...in the time she spent there she could have easily made that at home.

One thing is obvious even if SCPD does not want to admit it;

If this week's searches are indeed the result of a tip by someone who cut a deal after an arrest, the authorities probably would not tell us (to protect the safety of the rat). Instead, they would tell us something like this week's searches were a result of more areas identified by the FBI helicopter photos as being "points of interest".

Anyone still buy that reason for the new searches?
