Once again, thanks for posting these links. Living on LI right now, I've been wondering more and more how statistically abnormal what is happening here right now might be (especially the idea of two killers dumping in the same stretch). Seems like that website might have some answers for me.

You may have already seen this svpernin, but if not, you might find this interesting:

Why So Many Serial Killers on Long Island?

Serial-killer experts and others offered a host of theories for the cluster phenomenon. Several said it was a fluke of geography. Still others said it was, in a sense, an illusion: Other cities and regions could have just as many or even more serial killers in their midst, but their patterns have not yet been detected by the police.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/10/weekinreview/10killer.html

Certainly, Long Island does not have a greater propensity to grow SKs! I am not from, nor have I ever lived on LI (for more than a summer at a time), but I must say the beauty of your LI beaches can literally take one's breath away. It took me many years to appreciate other beach locations I have visited across the US, and I blame it all on the awe the LI landscape evoked in me.

To this day it blows my mind that those two maniacs met on this face of this green earth and traveled together. Sleeps with the underage niece, murders boys, murders girls, gay, not gay, beat by the father, has no father. I mean them two.............:eek::eek::eek:

They are about the worst I've ever heard about. The words true HORROR come to my mind.

Epiphany, I strongly agree with your post. Whats interesting is that LE has not mentioned the drifter, and the media has only mentioned him once. Also the post interviewed the drifter's mother, and while I'm sure she only agreed to the interview without using her name, I would think by now another news source would have done some digging and gotten his name. The only thing we know is that he's 48 and likes strippers and was at the house that night. LE has almost seemed to deliberately not mention him at all. Leading us to ask questions. He seems to have flown under the radar, now it could be because he was cleared, but I would think LE would make a similar statement about him like they did with JB an PH. Has he been interviewed yet or hasn't been found yet. I would imagine JB have his name up pretty quick so maybe the Feds are involved because they can cross state lines and jurisdictional nonsense alot easier. And how to jB and the drifter know each other? You're line of thinking is spot on, I believe

Wow. That's shocking. Shannon's family must be furious. I am.

SG's family should be furious with SCPD!

<modsnip>!!

There were two sector cars sitting in West Islip that night that could have made it to Oak Beach in 5 minutes flat. But no, they want to send a message to the County Executive that they are in control and they sit there and don't respond to any calls unless a fellow officer is involved.

If dispatch came over the air with an officer in need of assistance in Oak Beach, you would have had 300 cops there within 10 minutes. But the average citizen has to sit and wait for 30-45 minutes for them to respond to an urgent call. Prostitutes and drug addicts have to wait even longer! Nobody cares about them. Especially not the SCPD.

Sorry I just had to get this off my chest. The SCPD really gets under my skin!! <modsnip>

dude...makes me even more convinced this guy is a Rifkin fan...Rifkin's sets of three...this guys sets of 4...

maybe just a weird coincidence,

This guy doesn't dump in 4's.

Here is a map.

I don't think the doctor is responsible for SG's disappearance or the SK.

Btw, I had no idea Rifkin dumped in threes, because in that documentary I posted earlier he disposed of the victims all over and even in the water one at a time.

You are correct... he spread his victims all over... the ones not found he claims went into the water.

List of his victims and where they were dumped:

After his arrest he led police to bodies and told police identities of Jane Doe's. It's possible he's not telling them about others, but I don't think so. He's very proud of them. I do not think he would give a lower body count. He might refuse to tell them where they were, but if there was more than 17, he'd give them a number.

He only ever buried ONE of his victims, #15 I believe and she was found when someone saw her hand sticking up.

He definitely did NOT bury them in 3's. Or even dump them in 3's. He dumped them one at a time, though he did sometimes keep them for a few days.

He did say in January 2011 that he chose one disposal method and then used it for 3 bodies... but even that doesn't add up. 4 in oil drums, 4 and a half on land, ten and a half in the water, only one buried. Technically it is 2 and a half not found, they found the first one's head.

3 in creeks is the only set I see, those were in order... I believe 7-9.

Dismembering was 1, 2 and 12 I believe. Not in order.

The East River ones were 1, 2, and 6 but only part of 1 and 2 were put into the East River.

So it's not like he picked dismemberment, then did that with 3. Then moved onto the East River, did that with 3...

I also find it VERY interesting that he did this interview about the sets of three, AFTER the set of four was found on Long Island. I don't recall hearing about that before.

“There were mini clusters, little sets of three,” Rifkin said. “Three were dismembered. Three were in oil drums. Some were in water. Some were on land. It’s like my own little nightmare scenarios.”

Does anyone, besides me, wonder if there are strippers from West Babylon who have turned up missing? There are alot of strip clubs over there. Just makes me wonder if our SK limits himself to CL prostitutes, or if he also searches for strippers willing to make alittle side money.

Where are we on getting voice samples to the sister of Melissa Barthelemy of the male players in this story?? I mean was there an accent? Asians can at times, be verbally distinct?? Could easily rule out the driver?? I have to believe LE has had this thought. But then again, how do you miss an earring and a jacket?? They have been sloppy so far, which has me wary.

Do we know that the driver is Asian, or did the elderly gentlemen describe the driver as looking Asian? I ask because I was often asked for many years if one of my children was adopted when we traveled out of NYC to less metropolitan areas. The inquirer would then comment that he or she thought my son was Asian.

Lol Not a drop of Asian or Filipino blood in him. (He is quite handsome, I might add.) In my younger days, I was often mistaken for many different ethnicities depending upon what part of the country I was visiting.

Anyway, the driver may very well be Asian for all I know! I'm just not sure about that.

I had the same thought recently. I have heard local rumors that one or more of those West Babylon strip clubs offer more services than an ordinary strip club would. Not sure if it's true.

7 men, 3 women and two baby boys dead in the Ng case, cited above.

We know that a man and child were found in the L.I. case. Perhaps we can learn something from this other one.

I'm not ruling out the doctor. The main reason is that he called Shannon's family talking about her rehab and the serial killer also called the young sister of another victim talking about her being a "*advertiser censored*". Both phone numbers were most likely taken from the girls' cell phones. That's too much of a coincidence that both families would get a call from someone, and Shannon is still missing from the area where all the bodies were found, and the doctor just happens to live there.

Back to the 2-person theory, and OceanBlueEyes mentioned Lucas and Toole already.

http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/serial_killers/predators/ng/epilogue_8.html

One suggestion is that Lake and Ng were already capable of such crimes as individuals but it wasn't until they met that they began to fuel each other's sado-sexual desires to inflict pain and death on others. The situation may be an example of what criminal psychologists call Gestalt, where "the organised whole is greater than the sum of it's parts," not unlike that other tag-team from hell, Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. Whatever their motivations were, one clear fact remains, a court of law deemed that Charles Ng and Leonard Lake were jointly responsible for some of the most brutal and sadistic crimes in the annals of criminal history. It's unfortunate that it takes so much time and money to bring such men to justice.

Here is a sk case that I've known about for awhile, involving an asian man--Charles Ng. Some may remember:

http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/serial_killers/predators/ng/call_1.html

Is that the Ng on death row in San Quentin? SK who kept his victims alive in a root cellar and tortured them just horribly? He had a brother too I think. I think they were even feared by LE !!!

I don't think ethnicity really factors into SK'ers as every country must have them, right? We just hear more about the white SK'ers here in the States IMO.

Long Island Serial Killer: Investigators to Use High-Tech Planes in Search for Bodies

Police Commissioner Warns Prostitutes to Be 'Careful'

"This is not an episode of CSI. This is an intensive long term investigation that includes the use of sophisticated technology as well as good old fashioned detective work," said Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer at a press conference today.

Dormer said that the FBI will provide investigators with planes and choppers that use sophisticated aerial imaging technology of the Long Island beach area where the skeletal remains of at least nine bodies have been found so far.

"Weather permitting this operation will commence later this week...We're hoping the technology will help identify skeletal remains that may still be out there," Dormer said.

That comment made me recall something that I read earlier in these threads.

Somewhere it was stated that Shannan had deposited $900 into her bank account the night she disappeared and then went on her way to meet this john.

Very strange that this person's comment includes the exact amount of money.

Yes! The part about the $900 struck me too. It is odd that this particular number was used. Kind of reminds me of the weird note Patsy Ramsey found which named the exact sum of her husband's bonus (? if I recall correctly).

I emailed the NY Daily News but I wonder if they will ever find my email. Maybe I should call the FBI myself....

To repeat an earlier question I had, wonder if LE continued to search for a possibly alive, but captive SG while they were finding bodies?

Can a local confirm if this Map is accurate, for the recovery locations?

Interesting article here:

Inside the Mind of the Long Island Killer: This Ain't Hollywood

The No. 1 way serial killers are apprehended is by a surviving victim. Law enforcement needs to assume in every single serial-murder case that there is a surviving victim out there somewhere. The problem is that surviving victims don't want to come forward, because they're distrustful of the police. And plus, they're likely doing illegal things, like prostitution, or drugs, or they were somewhere they weren't supposed to be. And so they're very reluctant to come forward. Especially early on in a killing series, where the offender has not yet perfected his technique and somebody may survive. In almost every case there are surviving victims.
