This is not intended for anyone at all, something I wanted to post for awhile.
The New York Newspapers go something like this, NY Post is 1 step above Supermarket Tabloids, many would argue they are the same. The Daily News is above the Post but not by much. Newsday caters to LI, Queens maybe parts of Metro NY I'm not sure. They are a Mix of all the Papers IMO, with tons of ads in the Paper. The NY Times Is a Paper of Record, so they are supposed to be Honest and truthful, Professional. Politics always gets in the way imo. There are a few other The WSJ. They all try to out do each other.

Yep, when I saw that Mail article with the victims pictures in a grid I thought the same thing.......they look alike in 2's.

The only resemblance I can see is MW and the girl on the end of the top row. :waitasec:

The Post has the best sports section. Newsday is excellent journalistically. The NYT is, well, probably the most important source of journalism in history--and the pesky politics, err, sorry about that, I read it cover to cover before 7am every day and I can't imagine not doing so.

You won't get an argument out of me on the Post's Sports although the Daily News is a second. honestly I can't seem to get through Newsday to find what I want to many ads. The Times of course Tues Science Section, What would life be without Sundays NY Times?
again this is for anyone who isn't familiar with the NY papers. Of course there is the Voice which once in a Blue Moon has some interest.

Don't know if this will help any. I rearranged the pictures based upon facial shape, eye shapes, etcetera.

All things, considered, even if the same individual is responsible for both AC and LI murders, he does not strike me as a "collector."

Well having names helps.

The only two who have any resemblance that I can see are Molly Jean Ditts and Megan Waterman. Can't see how any of the other AC victims look like any of the LI victims.

Maybe I'm just bad at this.

You may like the NY Observer--on the top of my list

I see a resembelance between Shannan and Melissa B. The same with Amber C and Maureen B maybe K Raffo Maureen Barnes. It's hard to tell

Does anyone have any thoughts on the significance of placing the victims with their faces facing east? I ask because I'm wondering if it may be based upon some kind of religous belief (theology)? I haven't seen anything posted - unless I missed it - regarding the perpertrator's possible religous preferences (...possible underlying motivation or simply a factor in the deposal process?) in any of the wonderful indepth profiles provided by several posters here. Many followers of Christianity believe that graves face east because that's where Jesus will return from (second coming);
"Then the man brought me to the eastward facing gate, and I saw the Glory of God of coming." Ezek 43:1

TIA!

Sorry Seaslug but I think the woman and the child were found furthest east by Cedar Beach in Babylon. The man's body was found west of Cedar but east of the other 5 remains at Hemlock Cove.

As a matter of fact, this is my thinking, going from east to west. Woman and child bodies by Cedar beach ARE NOT the work of this SK. Man's body east of Hemlock Cove is not related to the woman and child and ARE NOT the work of this SK. The 5 prostitutes west of Hemlock Cove are the work of the SK. The skull found near Lido Beach by the pond is totally unrelated. And the leg bones found furthest west by the new sewer line is totally unrelated as well.

Just my opinion.

All due respect but you are incorrect. The man and child's remains were the very last to be found and if you look you will see that they were found in Nassau County on April 11th by the Nassau Police.

Here is a link to the map for you to see.

The skull is the child's. Location is listed as "West of Tobay Beach". Tobay Beach is the Beach West of Gilgo on the way to Jones.

The man's human bones were found "East of Zach's Bay, Jones Beach tower". Zach's bay is also in Nassau (it's the body of water where the Jones Beach Theater is located)

Where are you getting the info that the skull found was a child's. I totally missed that info.

Would like to see a source for this info, or is it just rumor?

I tend to believe the Jones Beach remains are not related to the murders of the prostitutes.

You sure about that?

Child's body found in Long Island serial killer's graveyard

One of the four sets of remains recently found on a remote Long Island beach belongs to a baby or a child -- not a grown woman, a law-enforcement source told The Post.

"One doesn't match the others. It's a young person, possibly as young as an infant, or a child," said the source, who is familiar with the investigation.

"If that's the case, then that wouldn't fit the pattern," the source added, suggesting that the victim may not be related to the other murders, believed to be the work of a serial killer.

The remains are among eight sets found to date in the vicinity of Oak and Gilgo beaches off Ocean Parkway. ( link )

The discovery of the other four -- including the child's -- several miles away from where the original remains were found was revealed last week. Found within a half-mile of each other, they have yet to be identified. ( link )

I am re posting this. If

a} is so stupid that is why it was ignored. Ok thanks for not hurting my feelings

b} is common knowledge see a. Could someone point me the way. tia

C} is such a smart question no one knows the answer. I don't know who to thank first.

Hey Righteous.....no dumb questions, right?! I don't know the answer. I think they are being very guarded w/ their info. And probably know much more than they have released. They were slow to respond in the first place....

I read an article where a DA (i think) said LE was laughing at all the theories out there, because they have so much more info than people know. Hmmmm.

Well I stand corrected. Thank you for the clarification. I think our own news reporters were confused. It appears that the announcement about the man & child were released at the same time that they announced how they had found the two sets of remains in Nassau county.

This case is really confusing!

Agreed.

Eta ~ you might want to edit PH's name and work history out of your above post. As posting names and personal info of people who have not been named suspects by LE is against ToS. Just sayin...

It would be nice to have the minutes of some, any or all of the LE Press. Is the DA involved at this point? Some States or City's do this different I believe. The DA runs the show on high profile Cases, I believe a Suspect has to be in play for this I'm not really sure.

Intersting.....I think it was the DA that said cops were laughing.....my post above.

Hi Nomoresorrow, I did read an article { ??? ;} stating the heads were turned east towards the casinos. It was an old article. I thought it possible it tied into their profession and how the perp felt about that, to lie there in death, still facing what they were and tied to it forever.

I have no idea of course, but it was interesting enough of a thought for me to make a mental note of it. xox
