Tilda....I am thinking a tall guy could stand on the back of a pick up and get enough leverage to pitch a body in a sack....into the brush...

yep...uh huh...good thinking!

Thanks minazoe. he wouldn't even have to be that tall really if he were standing and tossing from the back of a pick up into the roadside brush.

He could probably be in and out of there in less than 60 seconds!

yep...pull over....no flashers...cut lights...bingbangboom...outta there.

We have to make weekly dump runs because our family of 7 cannot fit all our trash into the city provided cans. We usually dump the heavy stuff dirty cat litter, poo form scooping the yard etc...
In the back of my hubby's dodge dakota (short bed) I can heave probably 100-150 lbs from the back of it probably 5 feet from a stand still and 8-10 if i get a really good swing before i let go. I'm 5'5 and 135 lbs. and not particularly muscular, but do carry 35 lb bags of dog food regularly and tote around a 45 lb toddler LOL

Maybe that will give you some idea...

Then the driver moves the truck an equidistant forward on the highway, comes to a halt, and the accomplice pitches out another sack. How do they land more or less in a line? Or would that be relatively easy for males who have played sports involving throwing, casting, etc.? Yes, maybe. Still could be acting alone. A path like this is going to trust a partner? My gut says-no accomplice, but I'm open today.

I know a lot of people can't access News 12 (I can't from home but am able to from my job). Here's a snippet from the article:

"(04/11/11) JONES BEACH - Police announced during a news conference this afternoon that remains were found 1.5 miles east of the Jones Beach water tower on the north side.

Officials say it has not yet been determined if they are human or animal remains. The medical examiner is expected to make the determination soon."

At least there's an ME on site. That was a good call.

I cant really say why, but I feel like there could be a partner...like I mentioned before...as in the Bob Crane murder...his longtime friend would film bob and his many encounters with women in hotel rooms etc...

Maybe one is a camera freak ...the other a performer....if you get my drift.

partners can compliment eachother.

For those who thought or are now thinking that there may be more than one individual involved:

Sources told ABC News that there are multiple suspects who may be linked to the Long Island bodies.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/long-island-serial-killer-calls-sister-melissa-barthelemy/story?id=13346276

Hey, hold on a second! Even the NY Post qualified their source as being "a law enforcement source":

One of the four sets of remains recently found on a remote Long Island beach belongs to a baby or a child -- not a grown woman, a law-enforcement source told The Post.

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/child_slay_shock_F6ppvCWkouPkcrlTS608JL

It's possible there are two people killing as a team, but imo that article was just pointing out that LE is looking at multiple people as the possible killer, and does not mean there is multiple killers.

I also find the NYPost being very credible with gritty stories like this. It's right up their alley.
Not to say they wouldn't run with a source that's not exactly solid, but I think overall their crime reporting is good.

epiphany, I didn't mean to insinuate an accomplice in my post. i was just thinking of all the times that I have driven up to a trash/recycling site...or to the Goodwill, and hopped out of the car and thrown my chit in the pile while my car is running. Less than a minute.

Your question/theory about someone who plays sports is intriguing. I am a sports fan myself and I know that 'placement' is everything in winning the game......whether it is placing the ball in the hoop....swing the bat....or cast a fly!

The only way I see an accomplice at this point is if someone is paid very well to turn a blind eye and not ask any questions.

The first four women found in Gilgo Beach were killed elsewhere and dumped in the thick underbrush along Ocean Parkway at various times over a span of several years, according to police.

He marked the land or area somehow, so when he returned "at various times over a span of several years" (at least for the first four victims), he would know where to to discard them so they would cluster....

A state trooper with a cadaver dog discovered bones on the north side of Ocean Parkway early Monday afternoon, but it wasn't immediately clear if they were human. The remains, found about a mile and a half from the Jones Beach water tower, were sent to the Nassau County medical examiner. Authorities could not say how long it would take to determine whether they are human.

Sounds like perhaps a much older bunch of bones. :waitasec:

Thanks for linking to this map!! Why are we stuck on the sets of four thing? The map from Newsday shows that the LI victims were NOT dumped in sets of four. Yes, LE discovered them in sets of four, more or less (In Dec and within days in March/April) but the bodies were not placed in sets of four.

Only four of the LI victims were in burlap. Or maybe the guy ran out. Who knows.

Perhaps, the 4 has been abandoned for some. I and others are intrigued by the possibility of there being a pattern to the disposal or placement of the bodies. Some sort of message, method to his madness, so to speak. This aerial photo someone posted last night (Thank you to the poster I cannot recall at the moment!) of the position of the 4 AC bodies has caught some posters' attention and has led to speculation as to what it evokes-DNA strand, Braille, Morse Code, etc. Course, could be all a random NADA:
