Great news to wake up to this morning, an arrest! This has been a puzzling case so far, and thankfully with so many mistakes made by the killer. So it appears it was the handyman after all! The news conference today should be very interesting. My heart goes out to OG’s family.

Handyman Arrested in Case of NYC Mom Found Stabbed 58 Times in Duffel Bag: Sources – NBC New York
<snipped & BBM>
The law enforcement sources identified the suspect only as the "handyman" and say he lives near the victim, 51-year-old Orsolya Gaal. He allegedly showed up at her house and the two argued, though it wasn't clear what the fight was about. the handyman then allegedly murdered her in her own basement, the sources said.

Additional information is expected at a news conference later Thursday, the sources said. The case has mystified investigators and those who knew Gaal for nearly a week.
Link after link is saying the murder was in the basement not the 1st floor. That makes more sense to me.

It was said there was more blood in the basement.

That begs the question 'why' was there blood on the 1st floor in the first place? They could have argued on the 1st floor, he attacked her there, she ran, made het way to the basement, only to be brutally murdered there.

Also I ask again: why even move her body out of the house??

Wow, so it was the handyman! Seems like at least some of those "leaks" proved to be correct. Can't wait for the presser. I want to see the monster that did this. I didn't think this should take long to figure out, but still very relieved they have him in custody! JMO
I think A lot of us wait on baited breath for leaks. So many prove to be true.
Example: Patrick Frazee

I am so glad there's an arrest. And I have to say he's an idiot, he should have turned himself in. There was no way he was going to get away with this!

at least he didn't try run out of state or overseas, could have drawn this out much longer maybe forever, the police worked really quickly on getting this done

Wow great news. So was there an affair, or perhaps unrequited attention? Also I wonder if he was fired by the family. You'd have to think there was some creepy behavior if this was a case of stalking/unrequited attention.

The Handyman…..

He lived close to her? That would explain why there was no car. He walked there.

Might have had his own key or had the entry code.

Would have known the habits of family and had intimate knowledge of the house. Did he work in the house on Friday?

He knew the husband. Did he work for the family at their former address?

Maybe the rumours were true.

Now….why did he do it?
Maybe he wanted money. Or more from a relationship. Jmo
And likely to have been a walker. Otherwise where did he disappear to on his escape, after leaving the bag in the street. There are several subways stations around and the LIRR train station is also close. If he left that way, he would probably have been seen somewhere on a train. Just saying.

Interesting that he has also been charged with criminal possession of a weapon. In NY State, from my understanding, criminal possession of a weapon applies only to firearms, even under the fourth- and third-degree offense.

§ 265.03 Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
A person is guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the second
degree when:
(1) with intent to use the same unlawfully against another, such
person:
(a) possesses a machine-gun; or
(b) possesses a loaded firearm; or
(c) possesses a disguised gun; or
(2) such person possesses five or more firearms; or
(3) such person possesses any loaded firearm. Such possession shall
not, except as provided in subdivision one or seven of section 265.02 of
this article, constitute a violation of this subdivision if such
possession takes place in such person's home or place of business.
Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree is a class C
felony.

Multiple sources told The Post that Bonola was the handyman thought to have also been Gaal’s lover — and that he gave a full confession after his arrest.

He was picked up thanks to a pair of blood-soaked boots left at Gaal’s stately Forest Hills home after she was stabbed nearly 60 times in the early hours Saturday, sources said.

Bonola, from Richmond Hill, has no prior arrests, according to cops.

Bonola confessed that he struck after an argument, police sources said.
