Hi Birdcat, this is probably slightly off-topic, but I may have been out of the loop a bit on the male asian victim- why is Yeung Tsui considered a possibility? The victim is listed as being around 5-foot-6 and Yeung Tsui is listed as 5'10". I've seen other cases when the estimated height and age don't match exactly to unidentified victims once they've been identified but usually it's when the remains have been partial. Are they working on a DNA match with his family? Your theory is interesting though.

Not sure if anyone mapped it out, but Rita Tangredi was in east patchogue and Colleen McNamee was on express drive South in Shirley off the LIE which it turns out is like an estimated 100 feet or so of where Manorville male was dumped. Too close!

Theres also a third women who is probably the victim of the same killer. No DNA in her case though. I think it was reported simularities to the other victims.

"Homicide Squad detectives are also investigating whether Bittrolff killed a third woman, Sandra Costilla, 28, of Queens, whose cause of death resembles Tangredi’s and McNamee’s, authorities said. Costilla was found dead in North Sea on the South Fork on Nov. 20, 1993.

He still hasn't been charged in that case, so I'm not sure if they have given up linking him to it or not.

North sea...I think fieldnotes theorized Buttrofl might have been a member of the north sea gun club. I believe they owned property in the upstate new york town we thought bittrolff may have had a second home in. From what google it looks like the north sea gun club is next to the Big Woods preserve in North Sea, so perhaps Sandra Costilla was found there?

I have not mapped out anything, but I think the sites are close to are major roadways/ routes, so maybe it's a matter of travel convenience. The other thing is that some local people are more familiar than even residents (like delivery truck drivers, taxi, bus drivers and construction workers because their work takes them to different areas locally). Does anyone know how long blood/dna would remain from the victims on something like bathroom tub, other place or weapon used. It would seem like once LE finds a site where perpetrator dismembered victims that they would find blood stains from victim or evidence of an attempted clean-up. Re: J. Bittrolff hypo if he were involved, then maybe he used a summer cabin or even some work related site he had access to where he took victims. I just don't see LE not finding any blood/dna once they can find one of the crime scenes. always jmo.

Wow! Great sleuthing MindWhisper and Just K! The composite of the suspect in AJF and ANR's cases looks very much like Bittrolf. I'm leaving later today to care for my mom and give sis a much needed break so I don't have time to search for links today. However, IIRC the POI in the Wilmington murders was 6'-6'2. Does anyone know Bittrolff's ht? Also, Amber Costello attended HS at Laney in the northern part of the county, maybe just a bit North of where ANR is on the map. According to KO on one of the TV specials, she and Amber were hired as escorts for a bachelor party at Beau Rivage which is located a few miles further south from Junction Pub and Billiards. I would love to ask KO if she and/or Amber ever went to shoot pool at the Junction Pub! This is all from memory so I'll look for links next week when I return.

This could be the tip WPD needs to help solve these two murders if Bittrolff can be placed in Wilmington at the time Allison and Angela disappeared. See you all next week!

I have picked out the part I have a question for:

May I ask how you connected this Wilmington NC located F. G Bittrolff to the murder suspect John Bittrolff?

I know that F.G. Bittrolff has connections to NY (Forest Hills, NY & Flushing, NY, but no other Bittrolff's in NY are connected to thise locations) but how do you connect him to John Bittrolff ? and especially how do you find out that he is a "close relative" and what kind of "close relative" is he to John Bittrolff?

I ask because I have tried to find the connection without sucsess.

SCPD is not obligated to tell us the names of suspects. They can say so and so is not a suspect in a case. Whether its true or not.

Although I'm definitely leaning toward Bittrolff not being responsible for the GB4, it'd be silly not to try to see whether there's any possibility of him being responsible for those four victims, and unless I'm mistaken and missed a link somewhere I never saw a MSM article where the police explicitly stated he'd been cleared in any of the LISK murders.

In my opinion (and this is just a guess) the prosecutors are staying pretty focussed on bringing him to trial just on the two cases that they've been able to match his DNA to, even though we've been told that the staging of the crime scene in the third case was so similar that the three victims have been considered to be the work of the same serial killer for a while now. Granted we aren't privy to everything (or with these cases LI, much of anything at all) going on with the investigations but they've been pretty silent about that third victim ever since he was arrested. Does that mean he's "not a suspect" in that case either by the same logic?

I appreciate the posters here taking the time to track all possible victims and try to link them together- because even though my own opinion (at the moment and subject to change) is that all of these cases are not the work of one serial killer, but possibly 2-3 or even 4 serial killers (and by that I mean someone who has killed more than one person, with a period passing between victims) -trying to find connections can help us group victims together in new ways which in turn can lead to more clues based on any commonalities and connections that start to form patterns between victims.

Seeing all of the possible victims grouped together and trying to see if where we can and cannot can link them to one specific person (in this thread, that's Bittrolff) not only helps us narrow down his potential victims but also lets us rethink how (if at all) some of these victims may be related to one another- potentially opening up some other avenues of inquiry and other POI.

I recently signed up for a free trial at Intelligator.com. This site reveals email addresses and ip addresses of individuals in their database and alot of other personal info.

I ran a search on Melissa Barthelemy and it listed one ip address of 12.174.229.163

Using http://www.iplocation.net/ the ip addrress 12.174.229.163 came back to a longitude and latitude of 40.3908 -74.1116 in Middletown, NJ.

I entered the coordinates into Google Earth and got an address of 19 Brandywine Way, Middletown, NJ.

There is an immediate family member of John Bittrolffs whose ip address comes back with an identical longitude and latitude (40.3908 -74.1116 ) 19 Brandywine Way, Middletown, NJ.

Either an immediate family member of John Bittrolff was at some point in time in the same house as Melissa Barthelemy was at; at some point in time, or John Bittrolff was in the same house as Melissa using an immediate family members computer.
